    PS - Yes I've done countless focus groups, I have even had the privaldged to sit behind the glass twice watching focus groups. That's always cool.

    Hi Stuart. Glad you found out about focus groups. (You may consider using a specific email for focus group sign-ups so they don't wind up attaching your 'normal' email to a lot of other spam.) Hope your knee is better. I may need to buy another hat or two so you can get another haircut. Good job today.

      Not a bad idea! Leg is good, back to work tomorrow! Haircut time indeed😂 Not as bad as last time but we're getting there😬

    You are an asset to many companies as well as to RUclips viewers all around the world. I always enjoy your videos and sometimes like for this video, I have actually learned something I will act upon. Thanks so much. Another aspect of being selected for focus groups has to do with your age. Most researchers are doing research on the 18-50 demographic, with a few doing research on the 50+ age group. Younger people buy more things and are more easily influenced to change from one brand to another or to start buying or doing new things. Older people 50+ are more set in their buying habits and unlikely to switch brands or initiate something exotic like downhill skiing or deep sea diving. People over fifty however do buy more insurance, diy home improvement products and vacation cruises.

      Very true, yes age is a big one, can’t believe I forgot to mention it. Glad you enjoyed, thanks for your comment!

    I was on a focus group / research group for a legal issue. It was an actual mock trial, and then we deliberated. The pay was really good too!

    This is really interesting because I've been reached out to multiple times to review a major IT product and the company behind it (possibly for capitol/investment groups) that costs up to millions of dollars to buy, which I've bought for work, and gotten like $100-$150 for 45 minutes to an hour. What the hell?! $200+ and free ham randomly?!

    • @FridayAdventureClub
      @FridayAdventureClub  Год назад +1

      Ha that’s insane! Seems like they’d offer more for someone with that type of experience. Yeah the ham one was strange but I loved every minute of it😂

    I’ve been thinking about this video over the weekend and I’m interested in doing it.
    But I’m concerned about privacy and anonymity. I suppose those aren’t compatible with telling some company about your interests? Can you speak to that?

    • @FridayAdventureClub
      @FridayAdventureClub  Год назад +1

      Great question! Usually the market research company facilitating the discussion says they don’t include names/personal info in their report. Not sure how true all that is, but it seems like most studies don’t require much info or if they do it’s protected in some way.

    I work in advertising so I've spent countless hours on the other side of the mirror. Have seen some truly bizarre behavior from participants. Also it's pretty easy to tell when folks aren't being sincere.

    Very informative ! I live in multilingual small country so the market is too small for the big brands. (Your link gave me a "We have enough respondents from your current location")
    Maybe it's me, but... isn't it a good time to find a microphone testing group ? 😉😉

    • @FridayAdventureClub
      @FridayAdventureClub  Год назад +2

      Yeahhhh I guess this mostly applies to US-based viewers! Still working on the mic setup! This setup eliminated a lot of background noise but I think maybe I was speaking too close to the mic😬
