    Created my first Startup a medical device, and I can honestly say that if I hadn't found your Channel I wouldn't have been able to do it! I have an ostomy I had major issues 5 years ago and since then until I found your Channel I could barely get out of bed each day, if I could spend an hour with my family a day it would be amazing, now I spend 3 hours every morning in flow before my family even wakes up, I cannot thank you enough I really hope to meet you one day keep doing what you're doing you have found your true calling!

      Wake naturally between 530 and 545am, in bed between 830 and 845pm which ensures I'm sleeping by 9:15pm, then straight into flow after bathroom and water, normally for around 2 hours, although lately it's been closer to 3 hours of dedicated flow, no caffeine till after 9am when I reset, then I do a workout at 10am, and the rest of the day goes amazingly 90% of the time!

      @@bushmann4222 i thought you had to enter flow 60 to 90 secs After wake up. Thats what i do, i wake up at 6:30 and start my work before 6:31. What is a reset ?

      idk i found the constant cuts & stock clips so distracting, sometimes i had to rewind like 1-2 mins just because i had spaced out from all the different images lol

    Can't believe after watching and reading multiple "self-help" videos and books. Only few were able to help me. It made me realize that I needed to value my time efficiently but never taught me how to do it effectively. I started creating habits and multiple marks for my day like my Morning, Afternoon, and Night Routine but I was still slipping back to my old days even though I tried listing the things I did productively to give me motivation to continue. Now that I found this video I just finished setting up my calendar it helped me visualize how productive my day was than writing them and I feel contempt.

    I realize I have been doing these things without knowing the true effect of what it can achieve! I have found that when I set 50 minute or even 2 hour timers with a clear goal in mind heading into a task, I can stay much more focused and productive. I think it helps immensely that the timer adds an element of pressure and awareness, as you have described. Thank you for making it clear the more nuanced mechanism!

      I'm doing the same thing with sport.Training for 3 hours doing unbelievable stuff.That weakens me .But when i realize that i have so much time it means i can achieve anything

    A massively important tip that’s helpful.. either consistently check a notification muted phone to assess your passed time when in moments of pause to evaluate time passage and also progression length, or get a wrist watch for the same purpose.
    The more engrossed and submerged you become in your process and develop a sense of conscious self-control and hyper awareness of your current situation, instead of feeling the weight/struggle of doing something.. you’ll instead comparatively assess logical factors like how long, how much you’ll do, when, how much effort will it be, etc.
    If you’re coming from a point of being “broken” then you need to start out with baby steps. You can even tackle one plate out of your storm of dishes you need to do, nothing more.. with time if you consciously want to be more helpful and productive, you’ll do more as you get comfortable with the trivial aspect of doing the most basic.

    Hi Rian,
    You are bringing interesting topics which I'm trying to listen to quite often. The issue is that it's very hard to listen and here is what I think is the reason:
    1. Lack of punctuation - it feels like you are reading the text and not telling it to a human.
    2. Background noise/music.
    As an example I would provide Huberman podcasts. Even though he has a very long video, it's not wasting listeners' energy by trying to focus on the main stuff and avoid distractions.
    I realize it will be a shift but maybe you could try a calm series in parallel of what you already have? This way you can experiment without risking.

      i actually feel the same thing, the background noise doesn't really match the vibe of the video plus the video isn't really structured. the steps and points in between makes an illusion of a structured video but the text in between kind of feels like oversimplifying a simple point while that point is actually included in a bunch of other points as well. I love the content though just this one thing that could be improved.

      I find Andrew Huberman podcast are long for no reason. They last about 2-3 hours yet the info he says can usually be said in less than 1 hour. He repeats himself multiple times too. Personally I stopped watching him. Easier and quicker to just check out articles on neuroscientist websites.
      Next time u watch his podcast ask your self why it took him hours to tell you a few things.

    Thanks Rian, this was the best productivity videos I watched ever. Every sentence was a pearl and I had to pause and make notes. I started tracking my expenses some time back and my finances have inproved considerably. This video enlightened me how tracking my time would do the same in enhancing the quality of time.

    What is missing with videos such as this and countless others (it's a great vid btw) is people not comprehending that flow state is a damn spectrum, from relaxed focus on a task to full on out of body experience. People think it's an on and off switch. In hindsight, it's something you can tap to, like tuning a guitar, or tuning in to a specific radio signal. Mindfulness practice is an amazing way to learn how to tap into this signal.

      ADHD Is not a disease it is a state , and you get your brain to that state when you train it to lose focus and switch between tasks quickly , if you stop the hours of scrolling in social media and replace it with a habits that require prolonged concentration gradually you will not have ADHD , i had a transition between when i was in high school and then when i entered med school, and even though they taught us that it is a disease and that there are medications that help it in med school , i still don't believe that

      Fun fact: ADHD is not a disease. Another thing created to sell drugs. I saw in a Joe Rogan interview (I don't remember who the guest was) a researcher said it. Focus is something you learn and practice most people can't focus so some use ADHD as an excuse.

      The question is adhd requires a complicated answer. I could understand how this notion came about as often even autism is questioned as the result of gluten intolerance. During my studies I met people who did not believe in depression being real which is not similar to adhd by the way. I think to everything there is a counter argument. It also depends how you define real - are you looking for evidence from brain scans, high percentage of hereditary, impairment in daily living

    I think what we really need to work on is our fundamentals and i think the most fundamental thing to change is to change our mindset and make it more realistic and grounded , about what we can achieve in a given amount of time , and to not be hard on ourself if we fail ,thats what helped me alot

    I recently deinstalled all my videogames and stopped the youtube history, whenever I think I have nothing to do I do pushups until I think of something intelligent to do.

    I once thought, finding happiness means being as slothful as possible. For me personally not objectivly. Its SO damn hard to work yourself out of this mindset, and I am really proud on myself that I made it far enough so that videos like this ACTUALLY have become relevant for me. Bc before I was soooo far of the track that this video could just aswell have been made from Mars for Mars people.
    What I want to say is, no matter how hard you struggle in life, you can do it! We life in a time where being a sloth feels better then ever but we also life in a time were precious knowledge, live changing lessons and helpful Information to nearly every possible project you might have, are as easy accessable like a tiktok reel.

    making schedules is important, in particularly setting recurrent tasks, this is not only helpful because you know what needs to be done and what are your priorities, but also helps in finding time in the things you've always wanted to do such as learning skills, hobbies, etc. basically allocating time for things you've always wanted to do.

    Freud said that:” only way to find happines in human life, is to fullfill your childhood dreams/plans. ”
    I concluded that to:
    You have to become the person, you thought you are, at age of 3-6 years.
    If you remember how you felt at age of 5-10 when you had something to do that you felt ”this is my thing to do” something that made you feel that you are getting closer to what you want to grow up to.
    That same feeling I feel when I find the ”flow”.

    Incredible I've learned this by myself just by playing games, only needed practice how to flip the switch when doing something else. For me the switch was egagement, knowing that I need some time with a task to get my attention fully in it and mixed with a pleasant feeling of enjoyment from the process of immersion. The key is to learn to enjoy the process and not the result just like when gaming.Because when you play you enjoy the activity and not strive to clear hardest challenges in them it is a process that will get you there when you are experienced enough - so don't be afraid to learn and have fun while you can. 😁

    Thank you for the video. It gave me a great deal of insights into how I spend my time. However, one recurring theme I experienced among your videos is that the pace is too fast and difficult to follow. Sometimes I'm passively listening to your content while doing something else but I find myself lost in the context given how abrupt the editing is. In this video, for example, in 9:21 the video cuts abruptly into a new section as well as repeating 'Step 1' when there was already another 'Step 1' mentioned in the previous section. I suppose it could have been an editing mistake, but I just wanted to leave out my thoughts about things that I kept experiencing while watching these videos because I genuinely find the content that you preach useful.

    I cannot express to you how happy I am that I’m no longer in this grind culture mindset! I was grinding hard for 5+ years and burned out because of the stress and toll it took out of myself physically, mentally, emotionally, and on my family life. So so thankful that I don’t do this stuff anymore and my life is so much better now that I’ve stopped! If you feel like you aren’t getting what you want out of hustle culture realize that it very well could be because you aren’t meant to hustle. Not because you’re insufficient, but simply because it is a culture that chews people up and spits them out often without giving them meaningful results. I was a successful business owner and ran my own time and paid all my bills just fine. My goodness I’m so glad that I sold out and got out of hustle culture! And to all of you who find fulfillment in the hustle grind culture, keep it up do what makes you happy! I simply want to show people that it very well could be better for you if you stop the grind!

    Because I'm a lifelong gamer I finally realized that flow and immersion are the same. Im yet to hear anyone else point this out. Like I would not interrupt game I enjoy, I wont interrupt the work I enjoy.

      Could you explain alittle more. I have been searching amd searching for a truly immersive game something like metro or farcry 2 I even have added like 800 mods to fallout just to try and get it to be more real more immersive and the atmosphere so capturing so its actually hard but enjoyable but so far these things only slightly satisfy this desire

      @tempestandacomputer6951 I'm really into the nuclear/zombie apocalypse stuff things that will never be reality and I do go outside and hit the gym all that good stuff but it doesn't change my never ending urge to want to find that immersion that I just don't seem to get from outside

    I didn’t watch the video yet, but I feel like I only see people adapt things to be easier or effortless, like this video for example. Why are people so weak that they can’t get to do something harder and get out of their confort zone, this video proves that nowadays something need to be adapted to being as easy as tiktok instead of staying something difficult.

    Military taught me to do this, however with this schedule don't expect to have friends they'll get upset because you're so set on a schedule and they'll wanna ruin it with a phone call and throw your whole schedule off

    Wow!
    I am tracking time (also with toggl) for some of my activities and I noticed that it makes them *significantly* easier and more productive, despite the fact that I barely ever even revisit how much time I spent on what.
    I came by myself to the same conclusion you just spelled out: it's more about intentionality than about tracking.

    I had a question from an old video of yours on the same subject, of increasing dopamine and gain concentration. A question that occurred to me as a student; although I find the first part l( about doing boring activities to gain higher dopamine while doing work) extremely useful, necessary and beneficial, won't the lack of multitasking affect the association sectors of my mind and cause me to not be able to connect the dots between two things or use other knowledge and associate it with the current action??

    Love the video Rian, what is your opinion about the bill gates' routine, he allocate his time with a variability in his time about 5 or 15mins if i remember well, he says that is for adaptability, the world not always will be predictible, in fact the world is chaos and because of that he wants to be prepared for something unpredictible like the universe, how do you manage the unpredictible situations, like your mother had an accident (wish will not be the case) and you have to attend that situation, you have to be present, or there is a problem with your house, or you had an accident, or more usuallu cases like wait for the taxi to come, don't occur me more cases because i'm 19 recovering from a disease and i don't have a job, but, i think there's more, i think the solution to that is prevent that right? And try to convert that cases and scenarios to situation which you can predict through certainity wich means know a lot of information about the things that around us, so we can know their state and predict with high probability What will happen and have a plan b if there's not the case, like sun tzu said:" if you don't have a plan b is for sure you will lose", its like investing, you need to know all the information about the enterprises that are around you so can determine what you can buy or what you can sell. I think is correct and i will love to hear your opinion 😁😁😁
