I flew F-4s out of George AFB in 1990. Very cool with the 360 camera! May I suggest you slow down a little. Lots to see and with no traffic, unless you are in a hurry it would be great to take extra time to explore. Very sad to see what happened to a great base with incredible flying weather in an amazing location! Thank you for sharing.
Perfect way to use this 360 technology😎👍 And does anyone else see this much housing and think that in some way it could've been used instead of thrown away? I know it's waaaay out there, but you know what I'm saying.
Wow, thanks for doing that drive-through. We moved out there in 85 and left in 91 when Clinton closed George down. My brother-in-law took an early retirement and we headed back east. We lived off base but I spent a lot of time there. What a shame that they let it go to ruin.
They were schools, churches, commissary rec center, officers club, etc. my brother-in-law was a master sergeant. He worked on the bombing division of F 14 fighter jets.
One small correction. The older part of the base has States as street names. The newer part has streets named for various aircraft. IE: Starfighter, Sabre, Wild Weasel, which were F-4G fighters. Thanks for the memories!
How cool was this!! I felt like I was riding along with the gang. This is a very interesting site and I'd take a drive there if I was not States away. You both have an awesome channel and I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting for us ... 😎👍🏻
Love the 360 view. Hate that this place could house majority of cali’s homeless and provide medical and jobs with use of those buildings but it’s sitting to rot. Sad.
Love the 360 degree videos, Drew and Bethany. This place is such a literal, absolute waste of space! If the military knew the site was to be abandoned, they would have done CA a service by donating those cookie-cutter homes to the destitute residents of Tent City in downtown El Ay, rather than letting it waste away like this. 🤔🤔
Really? Turn into a more infrastructure intense drug getto? How would "destitute" residents keep the power/water/utilities operating? Law enforcement provided by whom?
Those homes are full of asbestos and god knows what else. It’s bad enough people like me go to milsims there at least twice a year. It’s a toxic cesspit. The women who lived on the base were warned away from becoming pregnant while living on base. There’s also active drug operations there as well. We discovered a meth lab being built in one of the houses last year and the bomb squad had to come out.
This Former Air Force Base is in a Class Action Law Suite by former residents who lived here. If you noticed the Red Warning Signs it will give more information.
REALLY LOVE THE 360 but try to drive slower cause the speed of the car really can’t see anything it’s like being on the freeway and you miss everything cause going so fastt
Great place to refurb for homeless folks. In LA the leaders keep coming up with $ 850 ,000 per resident apartments. George AFB streets, sewers, electrical poles are already there.....
Why didn’t they fix this up for all the homeless.?? Or even all the new illegal immigrants.? There is so many homeless and at the same time so many abandoned homes and buildings all over the country.
It's not that easy. The site is contaminated by years of military use, not to mention asbestos and other now banned materials. It would take millions to clean it up. Then it would take more millions to run it for people with little or no income. Of course Newsom is now crowing about the billions in "unexpected" surplus so you do have to wonder, plus the billions being spent on the railroad to nowhere.
eventually this will be torn down and most likely turned in to residential . That is what happened to El Toro marine base in Irvine. its all new housing with some remnants of the tarmac and some original buildings
For those wondering, this is basically a playground for us airsofters. Lots of nails, glass, asbestos, a dead body or two, and the rare meth lab. ruclips.net/video/nozwpUSdxVU/видео.html
Just think all those abandoned building are all empty and we all pay for abandoned building it was another city in Victorville. So how can the government just let it just go and in another part of Victorville the housing for the officers were in track housing and they let those go to unbelievable we pay for and all empty.

This would be a great place to take someone to practice driving.
The 360 degree tours are great. I'd be scared shittless on a night tour myself for sure. Thanks for the upload and stay safe.
Thank you so much for taking the tour with us!

Wow that's pretty sick I think I need to invest in a 360 camera. Good job guys.
How cool. Thanks for recording this 360 view.

Glad you guys are back filming. Fun 360 video.
Wow! That’s some Jetsons effects there! Very cool!
This was a neat and odd little bonus!
I love the 360 camera views. Thank You
This would make a great episode of life after people

@@dcpack 'Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?'
There are water issues here. So bad that it caused major birth defects.

Impossible. The base was rife with asbestos and was basically declared a no go location. Very sad…
Thanks for that, I always like the 360 views you do. It makes it so much more realistic. 🍺
This is really cool Drew & Beth! I always enjoy your videos.
u guys are awesome people!
Very cool channel I just stumbled upon.......if I'm late for work tomorrow due to binging these videos, you guys are to blame.

Cool interactive video! ✌️
I lived there for 3 years...714 Montana Ave...1970...went to Adelanto....sad.
Is here filmed the movie The base with Tim Abell and Mark Dacascos ?
REALLY LOVE THE 360 but try to drive slower cause the speed of the car really can’t see anything it’s like being on the freeway and you miss everything cause going so fastt
GAFB served our vital air combat campaigns honorably in an assortment of diverse capacities.
Way kewl!
Used to live at 329 Washington St. it was a 2 story 2 BDR. Out near the backside of West Winds GC.
you could call it a entire city ... just empty ... crazy because so many people don´t have a home ...
I’m surprised airsoft and paint ballers haven’t discovered this place.
We have, there’s multiple events every year. Just look up the name and airsoft.
I'm surprised there are no homeless there
It's contaminated

Only the Federal Government could waste money this way.
I was stationed at George AFB in 1981 - 1982. Back then Victorville, CA. was a $hithole.
Why didn’t they fix this up for all the homeless.?? Or even all the new illegal immigrants.?
There is so many homeless and at the same time so many abandoned homes and buildings all over the country.
That's exactly what I was thinking

@@johnburwell6609 Also our news has reported that they are scrapping 3 year old war ships worth billons of $$

ITS GENIUS. WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
I was stationed there in the late 80 left 1year before they closed down

I lived here from 88-90
I promise you I’ve seen ghosts in that hospital
ok
Why patrol the place if it’s left to decay like this? I wonder if any homeless people are living there?
No homeless. I walked around a little while ago (early 2023?) and the only people i've seen there are airsofters
Why don't they clean them up and make them a place for the thousands of Homeless people? Heck, pay them to fix them up and now they have jobs too.
Water table is contaminated and every house is full of asbestos

Typical don't do your research..the base was very active in 1982..the base closed in 1992..
Move the LA county homeless out there - - -
