    23:45 This right here. This moment right here. You could single out this moment, where Gootecks is on your right telling you to block and play safe while Mike Ross is on your left screaming for Shoryuken on wake up, and turn this into a whole series itself.
    This is the struggle of all new fighting game players personified. Gootecks and Mike Ross are the angel and devil on your shoulders during your very own EVO moment when you sit down against your first real opponent.

    I swear between Stone Cold giving Kbrad a shoutout and this and the overall similarities between the two, one day WWE and the FGC are just gonna merge into one.
    Gonna see Floe vs Rikishi in a match for the title in a few weeks, I'm calling it.

    I have so much respect for Xavier Woods/Austin Creed. When I started getting back into Wrestling a month or so ago I didn't really like New Day, but I realized how extremly fun it is and Xavier always screaming during the matches is hilarious. The promos are also pretty nice.
    He's also a stand up dude. And that's what I respect him for.
    He's such a smart guy. He has studied psychology and philosophy, right? And in great record time I think.
    I wish I were this motivated.

    This video could not have come up at a better time! I just bought my stick a couple days ago because I wanted to get to the next level. Been using a controller for many years and was struggling with combos and execution. Good video Gootecks! I will refer to this when I get it.

    • @Peraliq
      @Peraliq 9 лет назад +1

      Jayce Buying a stick won't improve your execution but drop it.
      The learning curve is going to be higher.

    • @jay____l
      @jay____l 9 лет назад

      Peraliq
      No I meant like being able to press two buttons (lk+mk or hp+mp). I can't hit hands on pad. There are multiple reasons why a stick is the way to go if you want to get better. You hardly ever see good players use a pad. Just saying.
      My combos could improve with a stick too because on controller I use the d-pad and I input buttons and sometimes my guy will just jump in the air when I swore I press neutral block. Multiple reasons like I said before. Not just execution.

    • @Peraliq
      @Peraliq 9 лет назад

      Jayce Oh yeah pianoing, planking, and double tapping is nearly impossible with pad
      Though pad can help increase performance if you grind it out. I bought a stick last month and it did help me quite a bit so yeah, just make sure you get a quality stick with sanwa buttons..
      Hope you enjoy your stick.

    You know it's a good sign when a not so proficient player lands both of their accidental critical arts to full effect on the opponent. Didn't look too panicked either, and for the most part held the space of the battle.

    It's a great episode because we see Xavier so eager to learn. He's got a real good learning ethic clearly. You see his understanding expand with the few rhings he was taught by Gootecks and he jnows there's so much to learn if he wants to (which he does). Like the friend we wish we had and could teach right? I wish some of my other gaming friends had the patience and guts knowing they were going to lose a lot for the sake of learning.

Might have something to do with watching all those broke coke fiend 80s and 90s wrestlers dieing of enlarged hearts (from excessive partying and painkiller addiction more than steroids) before they turn 50.

    Gootecks, I really enoyed that video, very educational and entertaining. In a previos episode,you mentioned how players should learn to play sf through Ryu first because he really shows the fundamentals and basics as opposed to learning with a cool looking character. I did not understand what footsies were or correct space control, I just play based on instinct. So, with what I learned from you and Mike, I can work my way up in SF and play smarter. Thank you so much.

    If Xavier can get a Doctorate while Wrestling, he can learn Street Fighter in a week.
    The Power of Positivity will get him to EVO.

    The thing about sticks and even holding them really doesn't matter. Remember 2014 EVO winner won using a PS1 controller.
