I'm hoping the movie does well. But I still feel like Bioschok, 1,2, the book and minveras den would work better as a TV series. That's like 5 seasons worth of material easy if you include the rapture civil war.
Agreed they could do shows that’s based/adaptation of the Novel that leads up to movies bioshock 1 & 2 since the novel does lay out the events for both games
The people working on the Bioshock movie so far sounds real passionate about getting it right. I just hope the casting fits the characters from the game. Like I want to have the feeling like when I look at an actor I can say to myself: “Okay, this guy looks similar to this character” or whatever. But I’m happy we’re getting more information about the movie even if it’s small.
It’s going to look amazing no doubt, I just pray to god that the directors and writers stick to the lore and don’t go down the route of the Halo adaptation or the Witcher 3 series.
My top 3 games of all time are Bioshock, Fallout and Doom series, I played Bioshock when it first came out and I felt in love with the game series. I truly hope they can get the CGI and the ambient correct and dont turn this into a PG film.
Imagine waiting all this time for a Bioshock film and when the opening scene starts you hear "Bring us the girl and wipe away the debt." ... (fade in from black) ... Columbia - 1912
Terry Gilliam would’ve been a great choice for a Bioshock movie. If you haven’t seen Brazil, it’s probably the closest thing we’ll get to Bioshock as a movie
This is complete crap! Not the video itself (video is awesome!) but I just realize why does this movie has to be a Netflix only exclusive! I am not signing up for a dumb subscription and immediately canceling it after I'm finish watching it. I thought all this time the Bioshock movie was going to hit on theaters. Might as well find a friend who has Netflix and watch it with them, I guess. It's like finding out that Bioshock 4 is going to be a PS5 exclusive only game.
You know what would really make this movie great? if Jack was played by Will Smith. Because Netflix has to do everything so woke. They will absolutely destroy this incredible story and classic game by making sure there is one of each represented throughout the film. Having just finished the fallout series I really don’t know why Netflix wouldn’t make this a series along the same lines by using little known or unknown actors and leaving the politics and woke culture out of everything and stick true to the story.
Dude I like your video, but there will never be a movie. I gave up hope for that and even another game. The last game was what, 2013? The idea of this franchise expanding after 10 years of nothing....well Im not getting my hopes up
Netflix ruins almost everything but I’m praying that this movie is a banger to where people who never heard of this game loves the movie and people who played the games are more than in love with the movie
The problem is that Bioshock's plot twist and theme of freedom of choice is meant to work best in a videogame, where you get to experience it in first person. Watching it unfold in a movie or tv show wouldn't be the same.
I would rather the film not be centred around the story of the first game. I think a dark tense thriller about someone trying to survive the chaos of rapture would be cool.
I knew I shouldn't have watched this video. I promised myself I wouldn't get my hopes up for this movie. But I've gone and done it now, I've gotten my hopes up.
@@TheBioshockHub it's ok bro, I was just joking😅 it's just that, now after watching this video, I have so much hope this movie is going to be awesome. These guys seem great, it's just their production company that worries me greatly. Netflix has never been able to make something without making it extremely political as well as miss the entire point as to why it was great.
@@leonardgoggins7735 political preaching differs from exploring political ideas, many movies and games explore politics as a plot such as star wars, half life and bioshock. I'm both really excited and really scared for this movie lol.

Bioshock is perfect for a movie i'm wondering is how they're gonna make a practical big daddy suit because if they make it CGI imma be pissed
A series with 1-3 seasons per area would be great. A 2-3 hour film is way too short.
Exactly what I was thinking
Glad to be hearing something about one of the upcoming Bioshock projects 👌
Me too, from the actual source.
If Francis is directing the film we need to have actors like who is playing atlas or jack or andrew ryan?
I'm hopeful that we'll get some news on casting soon.
Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) as Andrew Ryan would be amazing
@@WilliamAfton524 That's definitely an interesting casting choice
Or frank fontaine

Lets make this into a TV series like Fallout

Let's petition to get Ben Kingsley as Sander Cohen!
You know, Sander Cohen has always reminded me of Kevin Spacey.
Maybe because they are both deranged psychos. But they look very similar.
Perfect.

They're the ones who scooped up the rights to the script. We'll have to wait and see what happens
Just be grateful we’re getting one. Most people don’t go to theatres anymore. Plus it’s like $6, half the price than a theatre ticket these days..
Come on now, we all know after watching a BioShock movie we're gonna wish we didn't and it's going to be a stain on the franchise
Dude YT mobile cut whole title and it read "Bioshock director gives up"
Almost made me jump.
Sigh... thanks mobile lmao.
yayyyy bioshock news
I know :D

Netflix? it's going to be 100% woke.
By the time they finally release something people will be older and not care about it as much as they would've adored a new game before
I wonder if Michael Greene will stick to the material or twist it a bit
Should be a series. Too much story to fit in one movie
Nice update Erik, thanks!
You're welcome Brad!

The terrible Doom movie pretty much said it all.
I wonder how many big daddys will be in the movie
Hopefully quite a few
multiple types fighting over the girls haha
If they remove cohen and the atomospehere this movie will fail
No no, Cohen & Fort Frolic NEED to be in this 100%.

They switched to series what based on the game series before Ms Dewitt.
Spoilers from game series.
This is exciting, I can guarantee people will give this a chance especially since the horror and action in this game was so original.
Exciting stuff!
Agreed!
we finally need a poster or something
I am bit Jaded over the BioShock movie & waiting for a official Netflix Trailer Erik.

Yeah, Erik.
