it was hard to hear the differences in the mics because of the background music. consider removing any other audio besides the mics for more critical listening. thanks!
First of all, congratulations for your 100k. I can see that you're using your phone as a monitor for your A7iii. However, the last time I tried that, the face detection was unabled while using my iphone as a Monitor. Did this changed lately or how on earth did you get the face detection while using your phone as a monitor? Thanks for your response and again, congrats!
The thing that is a MAJOR difference between the 2 which you are not demonstrating is the polar pickup pattern range, the NTG4 is decent for 4 feet and then it has a dropoff, the NTG5 is good for 12 feet!! But I have heard a lot of NTG5s have frequency interference issues, hence I bought 416 instead.
Apparently if you order on amazon, if you don't get it directly from amazon and just 'fulfilled by amazon' you are possibly getting a fake mic. Not sure where you got yours, but hopefully your watchers will be careful. also I noticed on your first unboxing one of the logos was a flat black background, and from what I've seen, they have a pattern background on legitimate purchases? Thanks for your video.
I think NTG4 have more clear sound but this is dry and big contrast sound. NTG 5 is more flat sound and natural but not clear. I like NTG4 sound. Thank you bro.
Audio pros choose a mic for each voice, or each occasion. Hence there is a time and place for a NTG3 and a time and place for a NTG5, it doesn’t mean one is better than the other. The ntg 5 might suit your particular voice but not someone else’s and vice versa. For voice recording indoors, the Octavia mk012 is the mic that suits my voice, And is a third of the price of the NTG5. The Sennheiser mke600 is also better than the ntg3 in my opinion and worth considering.

The good in this mic is that it is the mix of both worlds, the NTG4 & 3.
