    The boat scene has to be one of the most hysterical and iconic tv scenes of all time.
    Btw, I saw an interview with Jennifer Coolidge that said she was extremely sea-sick during this scene and was literally vomiting in between takes. The fact that this woman was able to deliver this incredible performance basically while she was throwing up just shows how amazing of an actor she is.

    Jennifer Coolidge's voice has some sadness to it even when she's happy. Ever since I was a child and saw her in legally blonde i have had a special place in my heart for her. The first scene not only had me crying but sobbing. She's a powerful actress and isn't as respected as she should be. I love you Jennifer, you're so loved and valued!

    She was... a NYMPHOMANIACCC! Seriously lost my shit at that part. Her entire performance throughout the series was incredible, and she was able to make me laugh and cry, sometimes within the same scene. But the eulogy on the boat is just fucking genius. 'even if she had no... maternal instincts.... or skills'. GIVE HER THE EMMY! That primal scream though. Incredible. Also, I really really related to her entire core of the onion speech. But was still laughing.

    Everyone on the show did an awesome job, but Jennifer's performance was so incredibly sincere and "real" that I was stunned by it. I think she gets dismissed as being "kooky" or "ditzy" and I loved seeing her in this raw state.

    Her and I have the same mother. The scene where she was going to drop her ashes made me cry. It hurts so bad to love someone who was horrible to you, and still love them. It makes you question everything, and you feel constantly insecure about yourself, your own judgement, and the world around you.

    Jennifer Coolidge is one hell of an actress. Never fails to make audiences laugh and be constantly amazed and drawn to her acting skills. I haven’t watched this show in full, so I might wanna add this to the my list of shows that I wanna watch later. Just for the vibes of it.

      She was good in this series but her other roles as histerical crazy ladies were just cringe - she was trying too much to be funny e.g. in Friends and in Sex and the city. Good she played that one well but it would be also nice to finally see her in another kind of role…

    The build up to the core of the onion had me tearing up and then it got hysterical.
    Feel like it’s such a spot on depiction of how ungodly cringe we can be when we’re honest and vulnerable about our toxic upbringing to someone who wants to be romantically involved.
    It’s not like tv and we don’t have it all rehearsed. Sometimes we do come off as an unhinged f***ing mess, and it really hits different when you’re self aware.

      @@alphaomega9626 I have CPTSD, childhood trauma, etc. These are concepts that you can’t talk about to random people because it’s weird, so in therapy there are professionals that can handle the depth of those topics in ways normal people absolutely could not. So that’s what it does for me.

    I binged this while going through Covid. The whole series was pretty funny, but laughing was a bit painful, so I kept it close to the chest. But when the boat scene played out, I couldn't help it, and by the end of it, I was doubled over in pain from laughing out loud through the whole thing. Jennifer Coolidge is transcendental.

    She's an extraordinary actor. Her skill is underrated because she's comedic. But her acting beats and timing are absolutely perfect. She literally never misses a beat. She also inhabits characters in such a complete way that she disappears into them. She isn't acting. She just is.

    Geez, what a performance! The story from monologue... I've the same fellings about my mother. She manipulates me, humiliates me, always tries to make me feel stupid and even schizophrenic, but feeling angry about that I can't stop loving and needing her.
