big help for me. Column yews I have planted a couple of yrs ago and also more about 10 yrs ago. Deer got munching on them and I needed exactly what you addressed. Thank you.
Hey Nebula Dust! 👋 Oh, thank you for saying that and we hope it was helpful for you! We hope you had a great weekend, too. 😉👍 Thank you for watching and commenting!
We have at least six yews that were planted to form a hedge in the front of our house. It is L-shaped. Over the years we have trimmed them but this last year they have gotten out of control and have grown very wide. What would be the best way to drastically prune them back a lot without destroying them. Is it better for me to just trim them back a lot with a hedge trimmer, or selectively trim them? Thank you for any suggestions you can provide.
I have some yew hedges that need a severe pruning. Luckily we’ve had some frosts recently so I will be cutting them back and shaping them in the next day or two!
I planted 4 Yew Shrubs last late October 2021, we live in WI and winter temp could be below 10 to 20 sometimes. Somehow, some parts of these 4 Yews turn brown/yellow and Dear chewed some of it also. I pruned all the deal yellow/brown needles and give them a lot of water. Do I do it right?
Hi Cath! 👋🏼👋🏼 Thank you for watching and for asking about an update on our old Yew shrubs. Unfortunately, they are at our old house that we sole back in early 2022. Sorry we don't have an update. Hope your spring is off to a great start!
I love ‘cipres piramidal’ I see a lot of people in my area that plant them really close to their homes. Clearly they don’t know the maturity size of the tree...

I'm going to try to root some spirea cuttings this year. Fun to see all the plants you guys discover!
