Three years ago we inherited our "granddog" Terrier/Poodle as our fourth grandchild was born. The dog, G, was struggling because he has a skittish nature and is an incredibly picky eater. That was three years ago, and now that G is almost 14, he has developed a collapsing trachea and has an incredibly sensitive stomach. We are using canned dog food for sensitive stomachs (basically chicken and rice), and we add pumpkin. and other things to add protein..... or just to get him to eat. The problem is that in the evening he starts to whine at us. see He wants more chicken (he spent most of his life on kibble), so this is when we need something to calm him. Before my 12.5yo dog passed 2 months ago, I gave her Himalayan Yak Cheese chews to keep her teeth clean. Dr. Jones, I always appreciate your natural remedies. And you're honesty about veterinarians. So I would like to pass this along to help you. I get cold sores like you do. And I tried everything to remedy them. Nothing really worked very well no matter what I tried. Finally my doctor wanted to put me on a certain kind of pill. Hello Dr. Jones thank you for all you do to help pet owners with our beloved furry family. Recently my dog (yorkie) got diagnosed with chiari malformation. He is currently on pain meds however I see he still needs extra. I do not want to up the dosage of his gabapentin as it has severe side effects. Is there anything holistic for me to give him? Thank you !
My dog starts trembling when a storm is coming, she seems to sense it. Nothing has happened yet but she is shaking away. So I need something that will calm immediately. What are your thoughts on this problem? She is the best of travelers so long as no thunderstorms. We live in Florida, that says it all…..thank you for great videos.
Two years ago I took on a pup who turned out to be unusually aggressive at the young age of 5 weeks. We had been told he was 7 or 8 weeks old, but later found out that the mother had rejected the pups at 3 weeks of age and they lied about his age. I have been a dog trainer and behaviorist for a very long time and told the people he was supposed to go to that it was NOT the dog for them! Long story short, he had a ton of problems and I'm sure I saved his life by keeping him myself and rehabilitating him with my experience and dog pack (not my choice, but what were his options?). I had him neutered at just over a year, although it hasn't helped as much as I had hoped. He has turned out to be a great dog in so many ways, but still has a problem with "raging" which can be quite scary! Lately I have been using L-Theonine, which seems to be helping somewhat, but managing to prevent the rage is still key. I'm very grateful for your help with these supplements. I will increase the dose of L-Theonine and try some of the other suggestions in addition. I have made so much progress with this dog and wouldn't be able to place him with anyone else (due to the rage and. "alpha wannabe" attitude) and don't want to have him put down even though the management is more than I really care to do at my age. Hoping for the best!
Hello, I'm hoping you can help. I've watched your ear infection videos and went to find the canesten or clotrimazole cream and can't find it. Everything had other ingredients (TRI-something and some others had another C type name). I noticed those videos are older now, so I guess they don't offer the stuff with the ingredients you mentioned now. What do I need to be looking for? Or do these others work?
Melatonin does absolutely nothing for my dog, nor does CBD. Sometimes he gets even more stressed. I'll need to try these other recommendations. And combine them all I feel. After losing his vision and hearing he's become so incredibly anxious.
What about Rescue or Feliway? What's your take on that, doc? I find them both very good, especially the Feliway to spray their travel crate or spray the car.
How do we use rescue remedy for a large dog? Also wondering about L theanine. I have natural factors 100mg chewables. Dose for an adult is 200mg per day. This dog here is close to 100 pounds, so adult human = 200mg....large dog = 1000mg?
My question is what can I give my dog to put him to sleep fully because he hates a bath. He weights 70lbs and he needs to be washed. He gets very aggressive with reachable bite me if he knows he’s getting washed. Please help.
Hi doc please will you reply to my message, i started to give msg accent to my 1y old chihuahua, I do not know how many times a day is it safe for her to eat it, thank you.
I ordered your melatonin for my older dog my new rescue will have it if she ever needs a calmer i only gave my dog. 1 at a evening was an excellent product wish i had it sooner other products had too much he was 90 lbs i had to give my rescue kefir sardines no salt the veterinarians literally overdose them w antibiotics but shed been on over 2 weeks they were recommending 4.5 a day that seems excessive and last night i gave her 2 and she went crazy so now i have to take her to vet to get because she doesnt even seem sick i gave her organic chicken 🥦 and 🥕 and shes sitting in the sun w a smile on her face also need to repair her gut do you make soil base probiotic
Dr Jones, can you clarify the use of Benadryl…I was told NOT to give pets the pink capsules. (I guess there are difference formulations) Please advise on this so we don not give possible harmful Benadryl. Thanks!
Quick question-maybe someone in the community might know the answer to this. I’ve been watching Dr. Jones’ videos to help with finding a good homemade dog food recipe. I noticed that a lot of the homemade dog foods, as well as the commercial, still contain peas although although peas and lentils are the number one suspect that researchers believe are linked to the heart issues (DCM) caused by the grain free dog foods. Even DrJones’ homemade recipe video from a year ago contained peas, so I figure I must be missing something. Anyone have any knowledge on this? Dr Jones’ allergy recipe contained chard so I’m going to use that-just curious why the commercial dog foods still use peas….
Would you make a video explaining why a cat may not retract a single, or a random few claws? It's not overgrown. It seems to be bothersome when I touch it compared to any of the "healthy" retracting claws. The quic looks a bit red under there as well and the surrounding area, the nail bed or the cuticle so to speak, seems almost healed around the nail. The closest thing I can explain is like a human nail where the cuticle meets. PLEASE HELP MY GIRL 😢

What are your thoughts on this problem? She is the best of travelers so long as no thunderstorms. We live in Florida, that says it all…..thank you for great videos.
Thankyou , always good to watch you .
Appreciate you so much , Dr. Jones! Can your canine calming chews be used with cats as well?

Hello, I'm hoping you can help. I've watched your ear infection videos and went to find the canesten or clotrimazole cream and can't find it. Everything had other ingredients (TRI-something and some others had another C type name). I noticed those videos are older now, so I guess they don't offer the stuff with the ingredients you mentioned now.
What do I need to be looking for?
Or do these others work?
Amazon. I get mine from Amazon.
@kyoti I got the Canesten at CVS had 2 sizes. The other is hydrocortisone at dollar stores for a buck or 2.
Thank you!
I'll check my other nearest town, as they have a CVS. And if I still can't find it, then off to Amazon I go.
Thank You! For cats too?😊
I wish I could save every video
You can! 😊
Can you do a video on reasons for hair loss in dogs please
Melatonin does absolutely nothing for my dog, nor does CBD. Sometimes he gets even more stressed. I'll need to try these other recommendations. And combine them all I feel. After losing his vision and hearing he's become so incredibly anxious.
Omg! Poor thing! I would be too!
Might not be giving enough CBD, I had to double the recommended dose. And a lot of the brands are junk.
What about Rescue or Feliway? What's your take on that, doc?
I find them both very good, especially the Feliway to spray their travel crate or spray the car.
will these supplements help with dog car sickness ?
Dr Jones, where can i buy the cbd oil? Thank you
You can purchase it from our online store: drjonesnaturalpet.com/supplements.html
Can I give these to my 3.5 months old puppy? He is terrified of bath/nail trimming has motion sickness. He is a retriever puppy.
How do we use rescue remedy for a large dog? Also wondering about L theanine. I have natural factors 100mg chewables. Dose for an adult is 200mg per day. This dog here is close to 100 pounds, so adult human = 200mg....large dog = 1000mg?
Beautiful!!!! I give mine a capsule.Valerian
My question is what can I give my dog to put him to sleep fully because he hates a bath. He weights 70lbs and he needs to be washed. He gets very aggressive with reachable bite me if he knows he’s getting washed. Please help.

🏆 Amazing Video
Would you make a video explaining why a cat may not retract a single, or a random few claws? It's not overgrown. It seems to be bothersome when I touch it compared to any of the "healthy" retracting claws. The quic looks a bit red under there as well and the surrounding area, the nail bed or the cuticle so to speak, seems almost healed around the nail. The closest thing I can explain is like a human nail where the cuticle meets.
PLEASE HELP MY GIRL 😢
