There are several white South African accents though - from the Natal accent to the very distinct one of an Afrikaaner speaking english as his second language. I suggest you try watching some of the RUclips documentaries on the Rhodesian bush war and you will hear that our Rhodesian accent is uniquely different. When I moved to South Africa, some South Africans would ask me if I was American - strange but true.
