This tour was an amazing marriage of the great sadies band backing up an amazing singer/songwriter/performer. Take the time and go listen to the Sadies records! The good brothers and accompanying have an amazing discography and many other collaborations! Miss you JTE ❤️
Yea I can attest to the same thing. RUclips or Internet has opened up the world. I love getting to know these guys what seems like a more personal level. I'm discovering a while new world that alot people do not know exists.
If people have not discovered what is happening they are just out of the loop. Podcasts for instance, after a couple of years I'm just getting what is happening and I love it. My daughter used to tell me I was out of the loop. I thought maybe my age or what knot. Nope it is much deeper, the wealth of information that comes across is short amazing.
My question to you or anyone else is wtf are you listening to, what are you listening to?????? I'm just a few months south of 70 with JTE being a big deal for me. As to Prine, probably before you were even a thought in your Daddy's eyes.
I didn't discover Justin until he passed. I kept hearing him on Outlaw - Channel 60. I pulled him up on Spotify and there was a list and I just started listening. WHAT a talent. I love his stuff.... Makes me so sad he ODed...... My youngest son, killed himself as well.. Life was to hurtful for them. I pray that the holes that was in their souls, is filled now.
I'm pretty sure it was accidental OD with Justin he didn't kill himself well not intentionally anyway, but such a shame great talent. Sorry about your son.
So listen, here it is. A perfect example of the “sober” Justin versus the “not so sober” guy you see in some of the other videos that pop up on your RUclips stream. He’s amazing and always will be. Sometimes he wasn’t. This isn’t one of those times. God bless him and his family. May you always remember the Good and the Great and forget the bad and the even worse. ✌️
This is a nice change of pace. I've been watching a lot of his performances on RUclips recently and almost none of them have a backing band. I actually prefer the solo performances overall, but this is a damn good performance. It sounds a lot more like the records. Having a band behind him, he has to play at a steadier tempo. He kinda lets the tempo sway all over the place sometimes when he's playing solo, but that's part of what makes it sound powerful.
I love that fact that 'Justin Townes Earle' as an artist, has two modes: solo and with band. It's like every song has two versions of it, and they're awesome in their own way
Really grateful to see this performance. Im still really sad for Justin's family and everything that lead up to his passing. The first 5 albums JTE released were a remarkable achievement that will be listened to for generations. Unfortunately the content I watched over the past few years didn't have that same spark, possibly due to substance abuse. The version of Champagne Corolla here is excellent, unfortunately the solo performances of that song didn't show the audience what JTE heard when he wrote the song. Here we get the best version I've heard. So many people out there will be inspired by what JTE created.
I have seen JTE live like 3 or 4 times. Not for about 3 or 4 years. He kind of fell off for a moment but it sounds like he's back in form. Sounds like he got a better backing band and ditched the mediocre guitar he had been fooling with for a few years. Don't know what make it was--it was black and white and sounded like garbage.
When you're there, it's not that bad. Watching a representation of it recorded on a pocket computer that compressed the shit out of everything, it just stands out more.
They complimented/served his tunes so fuckin well...he told a great story bout this guy (mike belitsky)being the only drummer who didn't have to count back in in his song 'white gardenias'..Justin is/was supremely underrated...as you were geezer! 😉
@@mass0mark Yeah I seen them on this tour they brought it downunder. I waited about 12 years to see the Sadie's play so forever grateful to JTE for that. But tbh I would of rathered 2 hours of the Sadie's in there own mode and 45 of Justin hehe. Not that Justin was shit far from it Sadie's just another world though.. I actually remember seeing an interview of JTE talking about the Sadies and he basically admitted much the same.
Yeah would be great indeed to have this setlist that u can click on like u see sometimes on YT haha. Was searching for a song but couldn't find it right now. Doesn't matter too much. Guess we're a bit spoiled here on the Internet hmm :P
Damit Justin damit son. Why, you looked so fresh here. Marriage and kid were lookin good on you. What the fook happened. Gotta think he relapsed and has been clean for a while and tolerance was down, maybe even got some that shit cut with pure shit. Couldn’t handle it. Dam I miss you son , was gona, awww shit doesn’t matter anyway, anymore
He'd been on the road since he was like 14. I bet sitting at home with nothing to do, the darkness just got into his head and he wasn't able to find a distraction other than hard drugs.
@@saidinjest I live in Nashville only about ten minutes from the apartment where he passed away. Just felt sick when I heard the news and, like most of us, couldn't help but wonder what happened. The details are probably not for us to know but I agree that not being able to tour may have at least been a factor. I feel so bad for his family.
Not quite, he did relapse as you said. But that was about a year and a half earlier, and he was using from then right up until the day he passed. He had lung surgery earlier in 2020, because he was drinking again and had aspirated in his lungs. But it was actually tainted cocaine, cut with Fentanyl that did it. Then add in alcohol and his weakened lungs and he had no chance. We all talked about it, and several of his friends and his Dad included, tried to help him and give him advice, literally right up to the night he died. Gutting and sad.
@@marquettegloves9907 Thank you. I knew he had relapsed at some point, but wasn't aware of the details you provided. I felt guilty that I wanted to know what happened because I know it's personal. But I guess it's human nature to wonder. I hope it helps the family to know that they did everything they could. Still so tragic....Such a senseless loss.
@@LeahSugarB that's okay, glad I could fill in the gaps for you. It is human nature to want to know what happened, particularly when you care about someone. Friend or fan. There's a gofundme for his wife and daughter if you don't know, to help them with the medical expenses he left behind, mainly because of the lung surgery. If you feel like helping it's called Earle Family Aftermath. All the best.
great SURFERS AND EXCELLENT MUSIC.........ART THAT EVAPORATTTON...........ARE WILL SEE HERE TO CARY ON. BLESS MY FAMILY ANDCOUNTRY MUSIC...SEE YOU AGAGIN BLESSSINGS.

@@thaddeusk4230 I'm well north of 70 mate & Australian , how much Ozzy music do you listen to over there or other Worldly music for that matter ?

Beats most even when he was off his game but I get what u mean...
He sounded so full of life in 2017.
He's so Handsome.
Great...damn wish this had been better recorded but still grateful
Love Ashville, great show Justin rip!
Damn. I was at this show. Thanks for the memory.

Man this is a great performance! Probably the best I've seen from him in years. Too bad all those people are talking instead of listening.

His latest album is also one of his best imo

Brilliance!
Una pena , lo descubrí después de su fallecimiento, un genio , artista inigualable , lo mejor para su familia.
¡Qué talento! Y qué emoción!
Excellent!
Geez this should have been his band
He was set straight then. So sad.

If only we could clone The Sadies so they could be everyone's backing band (and of course continue to be their own band)

Ha a song by a prostitute. I MISS YOU JTE!!! You were special. Check our article at Niche-Appeal.com. We adored that dude.
What is it with people talking through the performance?? So friggin disrespectful.
C'mon, they weren't expecting seeing him no more. They were just partyin...that's awright.
Tight band he has !
This crowd is rude af.
