Watching you create the quadratic formula by completing the square using abc variables blew my mind.

    X equals, minus b
    Plus or minus radical,
    B square minus 4ac
All divided by 2 - EYY!

I knew Professor Leonard was a mathemagician, and certainly a mathematician, but who would've thought that he was a mathemusician as well!? 18:48

Ok, funny thing is, that has probably got to be the corniest song I have ever had stuck in my head, but the even funnier thing is that every time I have to come up with the quadratic formula, I sing it to myself in my head.... so what do you know, it works... haha. Thanks Prof. Leonard.

    Professor Leonard is a mathe-magician.

I always pause and solve the problems before Professor Leonard explains them, so I did that with the equation at 48:30. However, the two cells in my brain completely forgot that you can eliminate fractions in equations. I solved it by plugging in fractions into the quadratic formula, and yes, it took me a good 15 to 25 minutes to find the roots.
I'll definitely remember the pain of solving it without eliminating fractions every time I encounter a similar problem, lol

Now I know I’m not alone 😂. Luckily I got the same answer but only after messing up my roots the first time.

Are these 46 videos in the playlist the complete course for collage algebra? Could you post the final exam somewhere so I can take the test? Thanks again

Hahaha....My little sister just walked into the room while I am watching this and she said, "What the heck, they are doing it wrong!" I asked her what she meant and she replied, "they wrote that 2+9+10=0 and that isn't right." She is 10 years old and was shocked when i showed her the x sq. and x while explaining that you are solving for x.

That's most people's reaction to variables in general, haha.
I usually tell them that variables just represent some value that isn't known or specified at that moment.

Please post playlists for discrete math and linear algebra 😢😢 your videos are the only reason ive gotten through math so far. I literally watch your video on each topic immediately after lecture so i can actually understand the material. You are a superior math teacher.
