Is it working for dimension from columns edges( not centers) to the closest grids ?

Not with this script, but such one is definitely possible provided those edges (or sides) are parallel to the grids. If they're not parallel we could use the vertical edges to dimension to. Take a look at some other dimension scripts here: www.revitexperiments.com/dimensiondyns

Can I use this to dimension any specified family type to the nearest wall?

Hi Darren.
Not with this node I'm Afraid.
Although the logic is the same so with some minor changes in the code it could work with walls.
