The parking brake engaged because you were shifting through the ranges in the transfer case. Regardless of the transmission being in park, the truck could roll as the transfer case shifts through neutral.
Thanks for sharing! I know this is a clutch based transfer case, but to shift between high and low the transmission still needs to be in neutral. I like to let the vehicle roll very slowly to get the gears to line up and go in easier (I know this is old school, but it still helps on many new vehicles.) What I don't like is the vehicle doing things I don't ask it to do. Makes it unpredictable and annoying.
I'll wait for 2024 hopefully we get iron clad assurances that GM/Chevrolet worked out the glitches with the software as far as running the battery dead etc... Am not playing roulette - I know these problems dont affect every CTB owner. No rush - Also allows me time to thoughtfully assess new 2024 Tacoma -
Mine spun the tires on a dry surface ,My favorite color is blue,,I could have got one, I wanted it bad but, chose the dark silver one cause it matches my Bullet bass boat,
They aren't available on the WT and Trail Boss trims, which they should make them optional at least, especially on the Trail Boss. All other trims have them available.
A simple touch of the start button, foot off the brake, brings the screens back up. But isn't needed. Like most vehicles made in the last 20+ years, the lights will automatically turn off after a few minutes when the truck is turned off.@@EngineAdventures
@GregEmburyK4GTE right, if your have everything off you can't turn off the lights. It's not often I like to, maybe a few times a year, but being able to turn the headlights on and off without having to find the key is nice. Pull up to clean a job site at night, leave the headlights on, then turn them off when you go to do a different task away from the truck. Now I've got to get back in, hit the start button, wait for the screen to boot, hit change the light settings, hit the start button 2 more times to turn it back off, then go on my way. It's not a big issue, just unnecessarily annoying. I do agree that reading the owners manual is good for whatever vehicle you own. This isn't my truck, had it for a week to review, but even still it's not a good system.
No worries, you're 100% correct everyone has their opinion, which is great! Gives a big variety of vehicles to choose from and more people can be happy that way. Also, how do you like the truck so far? What vehicle were you in before this truck?
Welcome to the channel! I do a completely separate off-road video for most vehicles I test, this one will be up in 1-2 weeks time. I also did a towing video with this truck. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@dantimber I hope so. Screen control HVAC like some other vehicles are doing was already horrible enough. The idea for that had be drawn up by committee and not by someone who has ever driven a vehicle.
@dantimber no they won't. It's simple and doesn't take any more time. High maintenence people will complain but it won't change. It's not a big deal. Unless you complain about little things.
My 2023 cilirado traul boss came d6llt kiaded at 44,700.00. It is the velocity blue color qguch kooka better then this darke glacier blue color. Champion cheverolet 7n Johnson city TN had it ordwred wirh bigger 18" bkaci ciloe qhwela ans Goodyear territory Mus Terrain tires. Alao came with surround camera package and skid plate package. Had rear sliding manual window with defrost. It also came with cruise control and trailwr tow package. So i basically only need to upgrade to LED frint drivinf headlights and go purchase after market light bar or fog lights. I am also going order rock slider rails and overlanding bed rack.
I'm at elevation and I probably could have messed with it by turning off traction control and stability control and trying other things. I test it how I, and most people, would normally be driving it.
This dame velocity blue colored Colorado traumil boss on 6/28. The turbo will kick in quickly and in northeast Tennessee where I live this engine will reveal up quickly. But havwme to be careful as it destroys the fuel economy stepping down hard on the gas pedal. Got to be very careful with that adaptive cruise control nide as it will indeed apply the brake hard when you get up close behind a vehicle. I just hit the button to turn off that adaptive cruise control mode.
Excellent video!
Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I'm really interested in your thoughts of this truck's off-road performance compared to the Gladiator and new Tacoma. I'll be watching! Thanks.
Thanks, I'm working on a towing video and an off-road video, not sure which will be up first.

@@EngineAdventures I completely agree. The reason these vehicles do all that stuff on their own is: lawyers.
yeah how does it do highbeams do you have to go into the ipad when cars are coming toward you to turn off highbeams?
It still has the high beams on the blinker stalk, pull to flash, push to turn them on.

Overall most manufacturers make very reliable vehicles anymore, but I agree that it's always good to wait a year or 2 when a new model comes out.
If you go to off road screen on the dash it will give you oil pressure.
Thanks for sharing! I did see that after I had filmed this, but didn't have time to film again before I had to return the truck.

Nice! How do you like it so far?
No led headlights is a deal breaker for me

You know you can just put in aftermarket’s in for less than 100 bucks….. grow up
Lol. Dealbreaker. 😂😂😂😂
You don't have to start the truck to bring the screens up and turn on/off the headlights. I'd recommend reading the owners manual.
I have to admit I was a little lazy in doing my research before reviewing this truck. How can you turn off the headlights when the truck is off?

Gimme Jelly Donut!
I like it a lot, very attractive truck
I thought the jelly donut was only if you commented first.
@@EngineAdventures true, I forgot
No off road demo? Personally I think the controls for the lights being in the radio unit is the most rediculous thing I've ever seen.

The light controls will get so many complaints Chevy will likely change it.

I’m interested to know what the exact tire size that you used.
These were just the factory 265/65R18s.
I’ve seen this truck do 0 to 60 in 7s and even 6s that’s the first I seen 8s

$40 plus grand for a truck with an all matt black plastic front. No thanks
Most of the off-road trimmed midsize trucks are in this price range. It's certainly not unusual.
