Similarly to the Eda vs Lilith scene in Season 1, the fight scene here was extremely fluid and anime-like and I find that to be a wonderful detail. You can tell that the animators put their heart and soul in these fight scenes.
The animation changes in lots of scenes in this show, including Amity and Luz’s kiss scene, which is showing that the animators really enjoyed making this show as amazing as it is

Luz is a witch, since most witches actually came the Boiling Isles via Titan Portals from Earth when it was still openly practicing magic, like shamans, long ago and are descendants of people on Earth today. That includes Amity, Willow and Gus. Many witches still hide on Earth, practicing different magic and cultural traditions tied to those spells. That's a part Belos never knew about nor would he WANT to know it.
I was literally sobing when he asks Luz, “Your not even trying right now! What, afraid you’ll hurt him?” And I was like, “YES THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING!!” 😭😭😭
@NS Channel I think Belos's voice actor recorded his lines first and Zeno added onto the voicing. After they edited their voices together and it sounds really cool.
Ok, so here’s my interpretation of Hunter drowning: Hunter throws the vial into the lake so that Belos can’t get it (or maybe to trick him into jumping in the lake), Belos takes back control and jumps in after vial (we know he was trying to get the vial back since that was the first thing he went for), then Hunter after realizing Belos was going for the vial decided to basically drown himself by breathing in the water immediately (which is dark I know but given his speech about keeping Belos from hurting anyone else it would definitely make sense). Again, I don’t know if Hunter thought that Belos wouldn’t be able to find the vial in the lake, or if he intended to trick Belos into jumping in to retrieve it, but I’m positive that he planned this all out, even if he wasn’t sure if he’d live through it.
He knew belos would jump in, in the original scene for this (before it was remade into what we see now) he smiled before he throw the vile. (HELP why is bro like this, like bro stap being sewersidal)
I loved this whole scene from start to finish. It might be weird, but I think my favorite thing about the scene is how during Hunter's speech to belos, you can still see that both of them are still continuously fighting for control
I wish we could see what happened right before luz got there, like when hunter and belos meet again, I really want to see how scared hunter was and how belos talked to him 😭😩 for some reason I love sad creepy scenes in anything
I appreciate that there was never a single instance (omitting the collector, obviously) where one of the protagonists could take on Belos 1v1 and win. The writers made him a proper force to be reckoned with.
Probably. In one of Phillip's diary entries, he says Titan's Blood mixing with water was how he came to the Isles. Could he have meant the water from that graveyard because it flooded? Hard to say really.
Belos was counting with having a human form for social interactions. Collector reduced his body to a small glob, and turns out he needs magic to keep himself stable anyway.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 He's in denial over the fact Luz is a witch, since "human" is a relative term. Earth has witches in hiding. He could have absorbed her palisman, came after her from the beginning for undoing the Day of Unity, but he's SO delusional thinking Eda has "warped her sense of reality". He claim to speak to the Titan, when King was there all along and Belos could NEVER sense his identity. He then rather than go after King for his use, in his demented rage, turns into a Titan to "save mankind".
My mind: don't ruin the serious moment, don't ruin the serious moment, please don't ruin the serious moment... Me: so like is it just me or is hunter kinda hot when possessed-
What is wrong with some of the people in this comment section I just wanted to see if anyone was talking about how cool the overlapping voices was and how cool the animation was what the hell why are there so many simps
THE OVERLAPPING VOICE THING IS SO COOL And how Belos can switch from his own voice to Hunter’s at will. At first I thought it was just the possession taking time, but now I think he specifically taps into Hunter’s voice to trick Luz and throw her off on those two occasions.
@A_U_M_S_ I saw a comment on this video earlier- I think it’s because he’s out to kill witches, not humans. Luz is human so he doesn’t want to waste the energy? Idk- They just need her alive for the show to happen 😂
the only saving grace regarding Flapjack is that Belos was prevented from consuming his essence, so even if he ultimately lost his life, Flapjack was at least able to have his soul be saved and didn't end up like the other Palismen that Belos consumed...
This is interesting because either way it's sad. Either hunter punched himself to try and like hurt Belos or stay focused, or Belos did it to hurt hunter. ;-;

I still don't watch the Owl House overall, but dang, I decided to check out this episode and it was amazing. The RotTMNT movie level of animation gave me chills though, because I am still traumatised by that movie and yet look at that fight scene (starts from 2:00). Pure, animation, beauty. Animation at its finest. Just like all of my favorite shows (Owl House isn't in the list, but this fight is really cool). I swear, if there are animators on both shows, the so similar fluidity will make tons more sense
I know it’s late but… Don’t you find it extremely terrifying when someone who did nothing but abused and manipulated you for your entire life ended up infecting and possessing you? Hmmm..is it one of the reasons why Disney claimed that it didn’t match their standards?

Wish the fight was a tiny bit longer but this was still a powerful scene. Rest in peace though flapjack
Fun fact if you didn’t notice: when flapjack saved hunter, hunter inherited flapjacks eyes. Thats what made me cry
I wish we could see what happened right before luz got there, like when hunter and belos meet again, I really want to see how scared hunter was and how belos talked to him 😭😩 for some reason I love sad creepy scenes in anything
Same there just angsty, also maybe they would have done a scene like that, but they also don't have a lot of time since season 3 got cut short sadly.
@@hcanimation4102 that’s true, hopefully we see more Hunter, Belos and Caleb in episode 3
3:45 i’m sorry but the way he says ‘NO!’ is so funny
IKR
When belos killed flapjack there was a sound from fnaf security breach
no it's a bit different this one has different pitch
2:24
vie's face though🤣🤣🤣
I just realized at something points like at 2:06 when they say “them” you can hear Hunter’s voice better
1:39 Did anyone notice Belos looked at Luz’s Friends before he looks at Luz so that He could say “You helped me Meet The Collector” in front of them?
Hunter is my fav so this crushed me
You can see the smallest change in animation on Hunter's face when the animation changes to be so smooth
I appreciate that there was never a single instance (omitting the collector, obviously) where one of the protagonists could take on Belos 1v1 and win. The writers made him a proper force to be reckoned with.
1:04-1:16 is my favorite, i just love the animation they gave hunter
babe wake up. New bad end friend dropped
I had this same thought last night and it haunted me.
Except he lasted like 1 minute
💀💀
Dipper Darcy and helos
“Just another goofy episode filled with silly jokes for kids!”
Notice how flapjack picks at his horns, not at Hunter
I'm sure the story of that flooded graveyard is somehow relevant to Philip and Caleb going to the Boiling Isles.
Probably. In one of Phillip's diary entries, he says Titan's Blood mixing with water was how he came to the Isles. Could he have meant the water from that graveyard because it flooded? Hard to say really.
@@StarcoFanatic man it would have been cool if the vial smashed or belos opened it underwater and the whole lake became a portal
I come from the future
This is right
Third season Belos is having such a bad time, but if Belos has a defining trait, it's not ever knowing when to stop.
I still love how eerie this scene was at the start, I was honestly waiting for a boss health bar to appear named "roachman is back"
The moment you see the animation jump from on twos to on ones is when you know things are about to get AWESOME
Surprised Belos never bothered to interact with the citizens of Gravesfield
He wanted to be a Witch-hunter General,he said so in "King's Tide"
Belos was counting with having a human form for social interactions. Collector reduced his body to a small glob, and turns out he needs magic to keep himself stable anyway.
He was dying, so it probably wasn't a high priority for him.
2:00 why is the animation so smooth here omg
Is it just me or did it get really anime like when the fight Sene came around? It turned SUPER fluid and I absolutely LOVED the fight sene
Willow during the battle be like: Get out of *MY* Hunter!!!!
The animation swtitch from the normal every few frame skip to full on smooth is just UGH, yeknow?
Did anyone else notice how Hunter’s hair grew a little bit while he was under Belos control?
A LITTLE BIT!?!?!?!
2:00 Oop- Budget kicks in
My mind: don't ruin the serious moment, don't ruin the serious moment, please don't ruin the serious moment...
Me: so like is it just me or is hunter kinda hot when possessed-
I KNOW I AM SIMPING😂😂😂
SAMEEE
MAN THATS WHAT IM SAYING LIKE
S A M E T H O
ESPECIALLY AT 1:04 HIS VOICE, HIS JAWLINE??
this will always make me cry 😭
What is wrong with some of the people in this comment section I just wanted to see if anyone was talking about how cool the overlapping voices was and how cool the animation was what the hell why are there so many simps
THE OVERLAPPING VOICE THING IS SO COOL
And how Belos can switch from his own voice to Hunter’s at will. At first I thought it was just the possession taking time, but now I think he specifically taps into Hunter’s voice to trick Luz and throw her off on those two occasions.
@A_U_M_S_ I saw a comment on this video earlier-
I think it’s because he’s out to kill witches, not humans. Luz is human so he doesn’t want to waste the energy? Idk-
They just need her alive for the show to happen 😂
@A_U_M_S_ most of the people that watch this are his age so :v
@A_U_M_S_ yea i just saw them >.> theyre weird af
Probably cuz this show’s audience is mostly pre-teens to teenagers who are very hormonal lmao
the only saving grace regarding Flapjack is that Belos was prevented from consuming his essence, so even if he ultimately lost his life, Flapjack was at least able to have his soul be saved and didn't end up like the other Palismen that Belos consumed...
Why didn't Belos ever try and take Luz's palisman when he had so many opportunities to do so, especially to manipulate her on HIS side?
1:56 A este clip fue a parar todo el presupuesto de la tercera temporada completa JAJAJAJA
“Little guy got… spoked off” 😶
1:59 that's smooth
hahaha🤣 sorry i put the captions on and the part when hunter said "you know what i like belos?" and the coptions said "you know i like pillows?"
3:10 wait so if Belos is still in there, the does that mean that Belos slapped Hunter in that scene-
This is interesting because either way it's sad. Either hunter punched himself to try and like hurt Belos or stay focused, or Belos did it to hurt hunter. ;-;
God these animations are so good. You can tell they spent time on these fight scenes
"its just a silly kids show about Magic"
Belos is one of the few villains I’ve seen actually succeed in harming animals, belos is best villain for being evil and worst villain for gravely injuring and animal
I love the foreshadowing of this scene in the Good Witch Azura movie clip
3:40
i mean. . . i kinda like the animation of how the green scar is growing
I love when the animation changes :3
when the animators get a raise
At 1:45, when belos said "you even helped me meet the collector", it's easier for me to hear Hunter's voice over belos'.
weird.
so im not the only one thankfully
I know it’s late but…
Don’t you find it extremely terrifying when someone who did nothing but abused and manipulated you for your entire life ended up infecting and possessing you? Hmmm..is it one of the reasons why Disney claimed that it didn’t match their standards?
ABSOLUTLY
YES
2:44
possesed hunter face:
I get chills every time 😭
Belas is so evil and sociopathic that he uses children aged 12 to 16 to carry out selfish and narcissistic requests, he forced Hunter, not being a normal child, to be banned from getting together with other children and making friends, Hunter or Caleb, because Belas thought Hunter was wrong. He only had a childhood in the human kingdoms, pure evil
That fight scene was so fucking smooth, that it made me think that stuff was cgi!
1:59 bro they change more quaility while hunter talking like a movie
I'd sacrifice a kidney for a god damn TOH movie animated like THAT
i had forgotten how much this scene hurt
0:52 - 0:57 OK, This part is scary, that Hunter doesn't move the mouth.
Looking back at this, I noticed that they made the fight scenes in this shoe look so Badass
The animators cooked mad hard on this episode 💯💯
I hate the fact belos tried to make hunter eat flapjack like he eats palismen
Hunter really needs lots of therapy after this.
2:00 the animation quality just went 📈📈
1:59 THIS ANIMATION IS SO SMOOTH WHAT?
What gus said and how he spoke sounds like something a ninja turtle would do
I love that smooth animation here
Can you image that soon it will be 1 year since of this?
It’s now one year….:(
@@TheAbsoluteCYNical I...know..Rest in Peace Flapjack.
Happy two year anniversary to my cute possessed boyfriend Hunter!
i just like to look at this frame by frame and just see the smoothness
Hunter is a true bro. He was actually going to drown himself to save everyone else from Belos. That’s true friendship.
Hunter is him fr
Ok but why does possessed Hunter have to look so fucking cool-
You can see the smooth animation when he says “we can finish our work as witch hunters”
0:44 poor flapjack he knew what was going on 😢
2:45 FLAPJACK NO!
