Thanks everyone for your comments re: the Mealybugs ~ I’ve treated them today and it’s already looking much better! 🌵 fingers crossed they won’t return 🤞🏻
Looks like your angel wing cactus may have some mealy bugs on it too. I just found mealy bugs on my ice plant and now I feel like I have hawk vision when it come to spotting those suckers!
I love your plant collection! It was verry satisfying to watch🌿💚 My tip is that the aloevera plants (and the cristmas cactus) that have red/purple leaves are in to much sunlight, if you move them a bit more back from the window they will bounce back to green really easily!❤
Hello, the heart one is a Hoya kerrii and since you just have a leaf there and no nodes/stem it probably will never be anything more than what it is now. There’s a small chance it could grow, but very small. Nonetheless, it’s still pretty cute 🙂
If I were you, I would repot all the Haworthias (even the one in the glass jar) and repot all the sanseverias and separate out babies and give those away to family and friends. The Haworthia is turning colours as it is stressed in the pot which is too small for it's size. I hope that the Thanksgiving cactus recovers from mealy bugs. And I think the succulent will be much happier in soil rather than water. If you keep it in water you will touch it more frequently and the white powdery protective coating will be lost. I know that when we buy a plant we think that the pot is cute and the size is perfect, but plants do grow. Sometimes I think we need to think about what's best for the health of the plant instead of what looks cute...
It's always great to see other people's plant collections. A few tips for you: plants age, they grow, they change so browning/yellowing leaves are just part of that process. If it's the older leaves doing that especially after lots of growth or during winter, it's mostly fine and nothing worth worrying about. The aloe needs more light, less humidity; a bathroom isn't the best place for them. They want bright sunlight and not a lot of water or humidity. Cacti and succulents don't like terrariums, it's a common misconception! You should remove any that are in 'bottle gardens' as they'll rot. The crispy tips on your calathea are due to the water you're using. They prefer distilled or rain water. You have a lot of easy houseplants and the Anthurium Clavinervium is much more demanding in comparison. They need specific light and water conditions so you should make sure you're providing what it needs and I'm sure it'll reward you with lots of new growth. For the mealy bugs you need to pluck them off with a toothpick and spray with neem oil. To be honest, it looks badly infested so you'd be better off binning the plant and making sure none of your other plants are infected.
I loved your first houseplant tour (started following you after seeing it🙂) and love this updated one too! Excited to watch your new vids about your rescuing adventures! ❤
The new plant on your table is called a flapjack paddle plant (Kalanchoe thyrsiflora) . I have one too, so interesting and seems to grow pretty well. Love your plant collection, simply beautiful! I too love to spy a new leaf coming on and start to unfurl, just makes you smile!
Love your sansevieria starfish! I think the mystery plant is a flapjack plant, it’s a kalanchoe. Just unbraid your sansevieria and it will straighten out, but stay a bit wavy. It will look much better unbraided. You’re lucky to have lovely lighting in you home! Thanks for the tour! 🌱🌱🌱
Oh no! The white fluff on your christmas cactus is mealybug. I would keep it away from your other plants so it doesn't spread. You can get rid of it by wiping the mealy bugs off (they hide in the nooks and crannies of the plant) with alcohol and then treating your plant with either white oil or probably neem oil etc. I would repot it too as mealy bugs will be in the soil. Good luck!
That Flapjack on your table, if you move it a bit closer to the light itd benefit greatly. I live in florida and they do well outside here, but they get HUGE! The one on my porch is right at a foot and a half wide! Im excited to see your next update on that one!
Love your varied collection! My Monstera deliciosa is also my favourite (although I love all my plant babies). I think your Christmas cactus has mealy bugs on it (the fuzzy bits) which I think you can treat by washing with mild soap & water and/or wiping them with diluted hydrogen peroxide. Love all your pots too - very stylish👌🏽
I think you spider plant needs to be watered more. Mine gets kind of sad, thin and droopy then when I give it a good drink the leaves really get firm and spring up. I have read the brown tips can be related to hard water or inconsistent watering 🤷♀️
Thanks Sarah very much loved seeing your collection, I counted up what I have and about 32 which was amazing I didn't think I had that many, I do have some very good fake ones mixed in with my real ones , and no one can tell the difference, but you have to get really good ones, , I love how plants can just transform any room and make it more cosy, my fav proberly is mother in law tongue, I have several and of different types, I never used to like them as I thought they were quite boring but honestly I think they are so easy to look after and I also like the peace lily, although that needs a lot of watering as they don't like to dry out, not ever had a monstera I might have to get one, there is a small variety on Crocu's website that looks just right, there houseplants are amazing as is there packaging they are so well packed it can take you quite a while to get them out of the box, xxx
linda chapman you should definitely get yourself a Monstera 👍🏻 online prices are really expensive compared to garden centres though. My home definitely feels cosy with plants ☺️ I like quite a minimal space and the plants just add the right amount of decor to the room. They’re very calming. Thanks as always for watching & commenting xx
@@Sarahslifeandstyle The only reason I tend to get my houseplants from a website is the garden centres near me really not stock any of the larger varieties of plants like the Monstera, I agree though they are a bit pricey but when your so limited you don't have much choice, a pleasure to watch as allways xxx
Beautiful plant tour. The spider plant in your bathroom needs to repot or need more light. It look sad and not healthy. The tilting position of the cactus with the red thing on the top is ok , no need to get annoyed , in nature not all plants are standing straight. Thanks for sharing.
Just a thought on the twisted sansevieria that you don’t like all the new growth. You can actually just separate all those new shoots off and make them into a new plant. Then you’re just left with the original twisted design that you like, plus a new plant 👌🏻
Also sorry about the mealies! That made me cringe! Seeing new pests for the first time is always a shock! You eventually get used to seeing what to look for as I’m sure you did with the mites on your palm.
I love your plants so much and so jealous! For my Chinese money plant I boil water then when it cools to room temp I use it to water because they are sensitive to the chemicals in tap water and that what helps mine from the yellow leaves. Good luck! ❤️
Thank you for making this video about your plant collection :-) With regard to your Aloe that doesn't look too good: as you certainly know, they are succulents which means that they prefer less humidity in the air and the soil than many other plants, especially when put in a place where they get lower light. I can absolutely understand that you are not very fond of your sickly looking Aloe, but if you would like to give it a sort of last chance ;-) I would take it out of the pot and check on the root system. If too many roots are either rotted or dried up, you could cut them off and repot the plant (in the case of root rot, into fresh soil). The Hoya kerrii ("Sweatheart plant") is just one leaf and most of the time, they stay that way and don't develop a stem and new sprouts. But, I recently read and saw photos of how someone had cautiously taken it out with its roots intact and repotted it in normal well draining soil. After quite a long time, nearly a year or so, it really started to sprout. So, little miracles can happen ;-)
What might have happened to your cacti as it got too wet they like them or dry environment and the humidity probably killed it not sure if that's what everybody else thinks but that would be my guess
you might be overwatering your aloe vera if it looks moldy. Perhaps repot it in soil that doesn't hold onto water as well or try watering it less often
Aloe vera needs to dry out a lot between waterings and they need a lot of bright light so that might be a bit of a problem with your aloe vera if you're not allowing it to dry out... But it looks nice and full so you're doing something right with all those little babies around the mother plant! I just subscribed to your Channel and I clicked like. I have a channel on RUclips that I started a few months ago at the suggestion a wonderful sweet lady named Carolyn who lives in Salmon Arm Canada. She helped me learn how to take care of my orchids and suggested that I start my own RUclips channel so I could share my orchids and my other plants with everyone especially her. Her channels name is a combination of her name and her husband's name Jack so it's spelled j a c o l y n s orchids. She uses vintage items to display her orchids and has wonderful misters are Foggers that she makes out of these vintage items to keep her orchids in a human environment. So if you put my name and the word orchids are house plants you'll find my channel. Some of my plant friends and I are trying to make things a better place on RUclips for all of our plant friends and my suggestion is to always click like before you even watch the video because too many times we forget to click that like button and go on to the next video! It's the person took the time to post the video the least we can do to show our thanks is to click that like button. My Philosophy is the world should be a better place because I'm in it and because you're in it so do something to brighten up someone else's day! So thank you very much for your videos I just found you today at RUclips suggestion
How do you have so many lovely pots and ornaments with your cats?! My cats love to knock everything off! Do your cats chew any of your plants? Particularly the grassy ones? I want to get some more plants but I find this a worry. Thanks :-)
I’ve had this question a lot and I can honestly say that my cats have never eaten or chewed any of my plants! If I have a bunch of flowers in a vase then they’ll likely be pests to them. But they have zero interest in my plants which is great. The only think they claimed were my marimo moss balls which they drink out of 😄
Lovely! One way to sort out the cactus terrarium might be just to take them out of the glass container and put them in terracotta, glass doesnt drain (i think i can spot algae growing in the soil) and they need air flow!
The one that you call Sweetheart plant that is a hoya kerrii and it won't grow any more than it is already because it's just the heart cutting.. that's as far as I no about my own! Although they are supper cute! 💚
Your Burro's Tail is absolutely glorious and I think your aloe vera would love to be on the windowsill with it because they both like the same kind of environment. And your Hoya heart unless it has part of the stem attached to it will never grow a real plant! Not sure how long they'll live and I think it's deceitful in a way for them to sell those little heart leaves and all of us to buy them hope that we're going to get a plant and we never do. And I comment as I watch a video so I don't forget what I'm thinking about is I watch the video so I hope you don't mind I'm making more than one comment
My Umbrella Tree isnt growing atall! You might be watering you Aloe a little too much and try watering your Pilea/Chinese money plant with rainwater to stop brown chemical buildup on the edges! x
I suggest you remove the plant and put a plant that is specific to the hanging Macrame. The Macrame is being hidden from the over grown plant . Have a plant that it growing upwards, small leaves , and not too many it will more pretty the Macrame it will show the entire Macrame .
Love your plans love your style I 0 enjoyed the video please keep them coming if you can I liked and subscribed hopefully we can we can become plant Buddies and swap some plants 😊
Oh no! I think your Christmas cactus is badly infested with mealy bug,I hope you keep it away from infesting with the rest of your other beautiful leaf babies

If you cut the tape holding the braid of the cylindrical snake plant it will straighten out and you might like the look of it better

Beautiful plants 🌱
Oh no! Your Christmas cactus has a bad infestation of mealy bugs ☹️. Make sure to keep it away from your other plants!
Rosemary B. Bernard ahhh so sad I’m going to save it!
Sarah Kirby.. please share any thoughts how can I remove mealybugs 😭

Sophie Davies agree with everything Sophie says here!! Also, the anthurium LOVES humidity-so keep in a bathroom or a kitchen and should help it thrive
Do you mind if I ask where the basket your monstera is in? it's perfect x
rach. I think I found it in HomeSense. They have some really great baskets in there. I often prefer a basket to a pot x
