This is why representation matters! Little black girls love her as Ariel and that is worth all the negativity she encountered when it was announced she would be Ariel.
Its crazy with the amount of disrespect and hate Halle gets for no absolute reason. Like I simply don’t understand. She truly has a heart of gold and a beautiful human being, she doesn’t deserve any of the hate she receives, it’s absolutely ridiculous
It's really not about Halley Bailey. It's about how miserable, desperate and hurt some people are out there. Halle Bailey knows who she is. They can't touch her.
Oh, there's a reason, all right. The same reason(s) that gave America lynchings, Jim Crow laws, segregated public spaces, etc. You think this damn country has moved past that? Uh, uh.
I saw it on Friday and loved it! I thought she was perfect. Loved her singing. I also loved Javier Bardem's Triton. He added such depth. It makes so much more sense having the sisters represent the different corners of the Earth. Sebastian was great as well. Much better than the animated version.
Aww the little girls have loved Halle Bailey for starring in one of their favorite movies and she’s inspired many of them of all races and I love the love she gets and surprises them a very special cute 🥰 way!! ❤😊❤
She is such a pie ❤❤❤❤❤ Children Adore Her and She is Easy To Love! Nothing else to say! So true when you said: she’ll be a forever-ambassador of Disney! What a wonderful representation! Disney has always been wonderful but What An Achievement they did with her! ❤❤❤❤❤
Disney needs to put Halle into a 4 movie deal and ride her to the bank. They would win soo many people back by making her the face of disney for a while
By ‘encounters’ I think you mean strategically calculated PR moves for photographs with black kids to promote and highlight Halles skin color even though it’s not supposed to be an issue and we are supposed to see past it…
You mixing a lot of things up there. No one is trying to hide Halle’s skin colour. It’s something to be celebrated. But ya, you shouldn’t take “issue” with a Black woman playing a fictionous mermaid (who also don’t exist in real life). You only have to look passed her skin colour if you have a negative reaction to seeing it. And yes, the children didn’t just happened to be sitting on Tamron’s or GMA’s set. They were brought in to meet Halle 🙄
@@GraemeONeil It’s so hypocritical for people to say ‘oh she’s a fictional mermaid, it doesn’t matter what race she is’ but then say ‘representation matters 😭 Ariel is black now get over it, it’s so important that Ariel is black’. I wouldn’t have minded as much if it was consistent. I thought they were going to pick Terry Crews to be Triton which would’ve been epic. I saw the movie and I just didn’t buy the ending. Halle and Havier clearly don’t look like father and daughter and don’t get me started on the sisters 😂 They had the chance to make a perfect Disney live action and they totally blew it. Vanessa is way prettier than Ariel in the movie 😂. Halle was recently angry at an interviewer in Mexico who said that they didn’t see her skin colour, they just had to look into her eyes and they saw Ariel. It was a very sincere comment but Halle complained to Disney that she now doesn’t want unprepared interviews. It just goes to show what she’s really like. That comment was positive, not negative, but her only character trait and talent is her skin colour apparently. I saw the movie and it was rubbish. I hated all of the changes. The only part I genuinely liked was when Ariel showed Eric how to use his sea treasures.
Did you get mad when Scarlett Johansson played a Asian woman? Or were you upset when Robert Downey Jr put on blackface to play a black man instead of them casting a African-American actor? Keep the same energy with everyone LOL if you don't like a black princess don't watch the black princess simple. It's a mermaid😂😂😂 how is it that grown-ass adults get so butt hurt over a damn cartoon😂 I'm pretty sure there is other things to worry about in this lifetime LOL you put way too much thought and energy into your unnecessarily negative comment. I wish people will put more energy into their own lives as they do hating a black mermaid.

100 💯 agreed
Truth!
Yes because little black were never able to see themselves as mermaids before… 😂😂😂😂 white skinned mermaids stops you from having imagination 🤪🤪🤪
@@dilldirk284 imagination isn't the same an representation. representation is important.
Well stated and thank you😊
She really is just a princess I don’t know how people can say otherwise 🥹
Almost just loved my relative 😮😅❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She is amazing!
The movie is amazing, and Halle Bailey is absolutely spectacular as Ariel! She's also a wonderful young person for children to look up to!

Take the tinfoil off your head and use it on your food.
@jacobsed6665 You're flailing and Disney thanks you for buying the ticket. 😊
