Your parents should be very proud of Lydia. Strong women is what it's all about. She's a delight, Focused and determined. You go girl. Hope your chickens do fantastic.
You guys work that Kubota like a mining mule;) ...the baler seems to roll along real good for its age... what model is it? Great video again. Happy Fathers Day to you.
Is it possible to leave the outer edge until last and go in the opposite direction for just one roundSorry should have waited a little longer before comment !
Good video of mowing and baling, but one thing am confused about? is why would you guys have to wrap your bales if there just "dry hay" ..lol confused??
Yes, there is always give-and-take in farming. In this case, the value of the hay left in the field would not equal the cost of fuel, equipment wear, and the time required to rake. Keith-
I used to own a 1475 Gehl 4x5 baler. Rolled many of bales with it between 1200 to 1400 a year. Your Gehl baler seems to picking all the hay up good and making good bales. Keep up the good work. It's hard to find nice big hay fields around here . I do a lot of customer baling. The largest hay field I bale is about 35 acres the rest is small field ranges from 4 to 15 acres. If there any bigger nice fields around here they are planted in corn or soybeans.
You need a product called tire ject in that tire. Look at the you tube site One Lonely Farmer, tireject. Works well. Beats taking it off and taking it to a shop, or worse doing it yourself.
My pap has gehl bale from the 1960or70 and I have bean telling him to get a new baler and that thing has bean on fire and every thing but what a death trap so finally he got tired replacing the baring and he just got 1999 Vermeer round baler I am have scared because it has mouniter on it and is not a big tech guy can also give me a shout out

Well looks like Hank did a good job round baling
Just with the glimpse I got it looked like an old pull behind combine
We seem to have a smaller hay crop this year. A. Little later this year maybe cold and wetter slow things in NEPA. PA.
True I'm in PA also we had 2 late frosts. I'm pretty sure that's why are yield is low for first cutting.

Hank You did what your dad said cut until it breaks. Good you got it fixed. Breakdowns are never fun.
Here in nwfla it's been dry were short around 7 inches rain making any hay been hard
You can get IN seats from Supe maneuvering
All baleage?
Yes, that was all wrapped as baleage. My guess would be about 35% moisture.

So they don't get wet and moldly.
It was about 35% moisture. I think Hank meant to say drier than usual, but still wet enough that we needed to wrap for baleage.

@@KeithFinkFamilyFarm well I was just wundering;) which it does make some, but inerways good video.👍 and thanks for replying back.
@@Queenie_78 thanks for your thoughts, it just seemed ah bit different then what farmers do around here...lol but inerways thanks for replying back.
@@randymaylowski2485 You're welcome, it was just a thought. I'm still amused with the funny faces to keep hawks away. 😁
So ask Lydia which came first? The chicken or the egg?
God didn't make eggs!
Your leaving way to much crop on the field. Why not rake it before bailing?
Yes, there is always give-and-take in farming. In this case, the value of the hay left in the field would not equal the cost of fuel, equipment wear, and the time required to rake.
Keith-
How many round bales do you need to make it threw winter :)
Always more then we can make - LOL 250-300 would be a safe number. We always seem to be between 50 and 100 short.

On your way out to the field you passed a short blue something covered in weeds what was it?
Haha that would be an old Ford small square baler. There's another one very similar to it almost right across the road 😂
Those are great orders, just keep going until you break something!
