"Greensleeves" is a traditional English folk song. A broadside ballad by the name "A Newe Northen Dittye of ye Ladye Greene Sleves" was registered in September 1580, and the tune is found in several late-16th-century and early-17th-century sources. Nonetheless, I got a copyright claim from youtube when uploading this 😂 16th-century music labels are the worst 🧟😁

Those two people are from Hong Kong. When HKDSE listening tests are held this piece is the background music when students are reading the questions and tidying up their answers.

I think the dislikes are all from Hong Kong. This is because HK students recognise this as death. When local qualifications' (HKDSE) exams are held, this song is the background music for students to read questions on the listening tests in Chinese and English.

Really? 😆 I would never have imagined it. Why do they add the background music? Is this generalized for all of those English tests?

@@Lifetap This has been used since 1995, when the listening tests are broadcast through the radio for the first time. The full soundtrack is 5 mins long. It is first played 5 mins before the start of the tests for students to confirm the radio channel, and it is also played when students read the questions and tidy up their answers.
The background music currently used by HKEAA is in the key you are playing.
Greensleeves was picked because of its simple and beautiful melody.
      Here is the HKEAA soundtrack:
