I like the long talking video because I can listen to you while I get on with my own sewing. Hope this year is better and less stressful than last year. Happy birthday and remember, no matter what you do we are going to enjoy it.
Thank you!
In the spirit of "everything is content", I'm pretty sure plenty of us would appreciate you sharing the learning process on the tech side of things. Very much hoping this year has significantly less bummer in it for you, and also that you're remembering to be gentle with yourself after all the stuff you had to deal with last year.
Yes! I totally agree! I an a vocational teacher by profession, and in my opinion this would be a very generous thing to do since it could encourage other people to learn and try new things.
Agree with this - I always have a heap of tech stuff to learn because a) constant change in the field and b) every new skill throws up another five I want/need to learn! I'm pretty good at picking up new apps, but for whatever reason really sitting down and learning physical tech I have much less patience with so watching other people unpack their own journey is hugely helpful!
Agree. Vlogging and talking to yourself/us as you go gives you a piece of content. You could edit it into a short how to video, and tictoks of the highly amusing errors that are bound to occur along the learning journey.
Thank you!
I am going to read EVERYTHING about sewing this YEAR ... and THEN get back to sewing and CRAFT!!! BUT I do love my Bath and Body works as WELL!!! HANG IN 😘🍄
Congrats to Gigi! I was at an SCA twelfth night yesterday. Two of my friends got awards. 🥰
I'm currently working on embroidering a dress. I want to have it done in the next month. I'd love to finish the overdress too, but that may happen later this year.
I also have a project list of doom. I think yours is better organized than mine
I have lots of things to do this new year as well. I have a set of classes on how to digitize my embroidery designs, I am learning harder songs on my guitar, I want to learn to crochet, I have a class on designing fabric, I have several quilts going, I am doing more hand sewing, but most important of all, I am making a quilt for my first great-grandbaby, coming in May.
I'm here for the chattiness☺️ It's good to make big plans, but also be kind to yourself about the pace of these plans! Hope your 2023 turns out wonderful!!
Nice to hear from you. This was good for my brain. Thank you.
My number one goal for 2023 is to learn all the parts of my long arm to start my business.
I like how you are a down to earth person, it’s fun to watch.
i have 2 "major" sewing projects planned for this year. first is a Mrs Claus costume but make her norse ("viking"). second is a Targaryen-inspired costume/cosplay. i'm excited for both!
i love your long form content that you do already but seeing some short form content with just the "meat & potatoes" of your sewing projects would also be cool to see. I'm just excited to see what all you do this year and hope that you get everything you hope for accomplished!
Love the longer videos. You are so personable. I enjoy your chats! Good luck on your 2023 projects.
Thank you so much!
I am going to have to listen to this video again, I heard the words "two historical balls" and my brain went from a state ranging from The MET to Bridgerton 😉. I personally like long form videos, but to keep the subscriber list growing I agree that the short/detailed videos are also a good idea. Went out to a New Years eve party this year for the first time in YEARS. Just tested myself, no COVID so the experience was 100% successful.
Definitely sounds like an exciting year. YAY!! 👍🏽😃
I hope so!
Ahhh!! So glad to hear my ball mentioned! I handed off responsibility of hosting the ball to my Saint Louis friends. :D I’m so so glad you’re coming and your Italian gown is going to be amazing.
(Sorry for the super late comment - finally getting to catch up with all my friends videos)
There is no “late” on RUclips! 💖💖 I can’t wait for your ball!!
Love love your long videos ..
More to come!
Knitting is the BEST thing! I watch your videos while knitting 9 times out of 10. We can trade, I'll cheer on your knitting journey, and you can cheer on my sewing journey. I'm excited to see your 2023!
100% here to cheer on any journey you undertake!
Weaving and knitting are great rabbit holes to fall down!!
Keep talking! That's why I'm here. I also want to become better acquainted with my cameras. Living vicariously through your major projects.
Watching the destruction of the beaches I used to visit way back with sadness and nostalgia.
One of my favorite follows does a two and a half hour live show then breaks it down to convenient 20-30 minute videos on RUclips. In his case it’s based on topics, but it makes it easier to watch his videos.
Weaving is glorious. I love it.
Congratulations to your friend on her Pelican. That's quite a lot of dedication to her local SCA to be recognized in that way.
Yeah, She's also already a Laurel!
What are you talking about????
This sounds like a good mix of goals - achievable and diverse enough to keep things interesting!
Hope the year is a full and good one, and that the job search stuff finds a happy end, because that whole process is a constant stress that no one needs on top of everything!
To the end! Huzzah to your friend. I hope you have a fabulous time at 12th Night; everyone will be in their finest and you get to help celebrate your friend's elevation. My recommendation is to bring some handwork because court will be long.
I'm doing an intentional spinalong for the first half of the year. January is planning, February is spinning, March is plying/resting/post spin processing, April is making something from the yarn, and the meetup to show off our work is at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in May. I already have my roving so I'm spending January teaching myself to do supported spinning; I've been spinning on a drop spindle for over 20 years so it's just learning a new style. Then I need to reteach myself to do naalbinding so I can make socks for my final project. I'm looking forward to long form and rambly videos so I have company while I work on this project.
Here's to a less-of-a-bummer 2023. My crafty goals/wishes: crochet a temperature blanket (I have started this and I like the stitch pattern I have chosen but I"ve realised it is going to be enormous when it's done!), use up leftover stash (both yarn and fabric) on the small human who is always growing and in need of more practical clothing (pretty dresses are not the most practical for a child learning to crawl/walk), and just keep making time for making.
Here I am, strolling in several months later, writing about my goals and listening to you. I like hearing about your goals and dreams and I find myself relating my experiences with what you've shown on your channel.
For some reason, I have this impossible picture of "the person who is good at sewing" being able to do everything perfectly on the first try, and getting very discouraged at every mistake. Your videos (and many others') remind me now and again that that's just not how sewing works. Thank you for that reminder! I'm right here with you, using up my stash and reading my books.
I'll be excited to see you weave! I'm a weaver and a spinner, so I have plenty of looms and spinning wheels. Before you get started, consider *making sure you have an empty closet*! The "before sewing" fiber arts are each entire worlds of supplies, equipment, and books. My spinning and weaving stash are bigger than my fabric stash, and the equipment is a lot larger.
I've been enjoying "The Fabric of Civilization" by Virginia Postrel. The topic is fascinating to me, the content is presented in a sequence that is easy to understand, and the audiobook is delivered in a calming way.
Oh I think I may have that book! I’ll have to go look!
@@Costuming_Drama enjoy!
Pelican is a Very impressive elevation, give her many kudo's
Yay! Miss you when you aren't on the regular. Good luck on the job hunt.
Thank you!!
My goals for this year are to CLEAN OUT my sewing room! And work on chemises and petticoats.
Happy New Year
Happy New Year, Noelle! I'm most interested in HOW you're drawn to projects, rather than any specific thing. Whatever way you choose to express your enthusiasm is what I enjoy most, as I'm here for the host.
As I'm feeling kind of blah, I haven't really put together a list of things to spend with this year. I definitely plan to continue repairing my clothes, and to get better at doing that.
Happy new year! It’s ok to let yourself move through the blah with compassion. You’ll get to figuring out goals when you can 💖
I love your talking!! I love all your videos. :)
Hi Noelle, I really enjoy your longer content videos and it would be fun to see some "teasers" over on Instagram... I'm attending the Belle Epoque ball too and am kind of terrified at the amount of sewing I have to do for it!
SAME!!
I think long and short content is an excellent idea! Especially if you stagger the upload dates, long form first and those viewers will probably watch the short form after too
Here's to setting goals and intentions!! I need to work through my stash ASAP. I bought some sale prints from mood on a whim that are for summer blouses AND I was gifted a bunch a fabric from a coworker who went home to India, so my fabric drawer (yes, just one drawer) is pretty full. I also have a fair amount of mending/fixing that needs to be done, AND I need to reset the sleeves on a shirt that I made and never wore because the sleeves suck. Longer term goals are: learn to sew non-elastic waist pants, sew knits, sew some drapey fabrics and at least start on a woven, no-elastic anywhere supportive bra type garment I've been rolling around in my head. I gifted myself with a subscription to Seamwork, so I'll most likely sew exclusively from their patterns this year. In other news, I just ordered snaps and snap setting tools and I'm super excited to see how that goes because even with a fancy machine, I hate buttonholes and buttons. (PS, I love the long form chatty videos - I put them on while I'm sewing and you're GREAT company!)
I made a sewing wishlist in December for 2023. And I made a list of things I made in 2022.
A very full and very fun 2023! Happy New Year!
I appreciate that you have many diverse goals but also recognize that goals are fluid and can rollover. My personal goal is to just force myself to get at least 1 hour of sewing-for-me time a week, and do more mending/repairs on the many knee holes on my kids’ pants (which does not count toward my hour). This weekend I was able to return 4 pairs of pants to the rotation, I have 4 pairs prepped, but added 6 additional pairs to the mending pile. Yay for catching up on laundry. 🧺🧵🪡
My stretch goal for this year is making my first corset/stays. I’m thinking of making the 1790s front lacing pattern you made, because I feel like those may be more wearable as a historybound.
Those are super wearable and not difficult to make! The tabbed binding is annoying, but whatever, just power through it!
I like the idea of the shorter 5-10 min "I made this video" when I just want to see what you've made and the key steps vs sometimes I just want hear what my yt friend is doing in their life. Both of are good, but depends on what you feel like watching
I've had a floor loom for 2 years and I still need to learn how to use it. Love the long form videos. Happy Birthday!! SCA events are so much fun.
More Noelle is always better for me! I'll most likely watch both just to see how it goes and hang out ☺ I'm looking forward to seeing all the gowns and adventures you share.
I was gifted an Addi (knitting machine) for Christmas and I'm learning how to use it. I have a few things I'm working on; a couple of make a long projects in a crochet group I'm in.
Sending positive vibes always xo
Sending positive vibes right back to ya! 💖
So much of of what you are saying is oh so close to what I want to do. Though most of it has been my evergreen goals. I will be cheering you on as I work on mine!
Excited to see your UFO's come together, and for you to try new things. Doing a lot of knitting and dress making this year with the hopes of getting my Robe Volante done. Happy Birthday!
Happy After Birthday! While I do love the friendly comfort of long videos, there is something to be said for a zippy, bullet point kind of approach to short form. Flex your artistic flair and do montage videos of the Balls perhaps? With music? 🤔 So many ways to go! My goals are to be more organized, and sew and cross stitch more. In all my health struggles I let my creative side wither, and I'm tired of that, I need beauty in my life again! It's freakin 2023, let's go! 👍
OK, my first reaction was, "You were at 12th Night and I missed you!" but then you said you were going to An Tir's, coming up this weekend. I think you'll love it! I'm so excited for you.
Don't worry about the snow; you'll be indoors in a hotel the whole time. :) And congratulations to Gigi on her Pelican; that is a huge deal. :)
I so feel you about 2022. I keep deleting my 2022 recap video I recorded because I just don't know how to discuss breaking my leg in my historical costume & the recovery. 9 months later its finally starting to hit how lucky I am to be alive
Sometimes I record things several times because I don’t know how to talk about it. Sometimes it just flows out like a waterfall. I find that people respond the best to honesty
Sounds like we have quite a few similar goals. I’m hoping to work on my personal photo and videography game alongside sewing my first historical pieces this year. I’m also planning to take up weaving. My local yarn store hosts weaving classes and I’ve been planning to sign up since back in the fall. I do need to adjust my expectations of what I want to do though 😂already thinking ambitious with plans for a fustian shirt. Though I’ve talked to the owner in the past when I needed wool and silk for a lion king musical inspired headdress project. So I’m sure I’ll get started on something more obtainable with the other project as a more long term goal
Knits are really easy especially with your fancy machine. All you need is a zigzag stitch, triple zigzag and an overcast which is optional. I have never used a serger but I have done plenty of knit items without trouble.
Two of my goals for this year are to create a database of my sewing books and my sewing patterns. Since I just moved and mine are all in boxes right now, I am hoping to do this while I am unpacking.
I have a lot of patterns for different people and times. So instead I photocopied the patterns and have them in a binder sorta like a pattern book at the store
I'd love to see you create shorter versions, and more cinematic video shots make good Instagram stills, and video posts too! I enjoy having your long videos running in the background while I'm in the craft room.
Happy Birthday and Happy New Year!
My plans this year have already been dialed back a bit, lol. I was hoping to get out to Montana in early spring to visit my bestie (she just moved there in the fall) but I found out I’m going to need a relatively minor surgery and that might push back the trip or combine it with a summer visit. Creative-wise, I want to finish a crochet baby blanket I just rediscovered (I started it at least 8 years ago!) and a cross stitched poem I’ve been working on and off for 5 years. Then I want to learn how to use my sewing machine to make scrub pants and add pockets to every pair of existing pants I own if possible. And I received a lock picking kit for Christmas, so I want to learn how to use that too. Which could be a useful apocalypse skill too!
I hope you have a better year than last and best of luck on your goals!
I personally love a long chatty video. I hope this year is filled with all the things on your list. Good vibes & stay safe.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you’re well and have a great year ahead 👏🏽
1, crochet is my Jam! I hope you enjoy making it.
2, don't put too much pressure on yourself about making a short form video. Keep doing what you are doing and whatever makes you happy.
3. Went to a 1920s themed NYE event and within 2 days made thrifted modern clothes look very reminiscent of what Clara Bow would have worn.
Next, I'm making a skirt from scratch.
I’ll watch whatever you can release on your sewing
Belated Happy Birthday and Happy New Year.
Thank you! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! After exhausting myself sewing a vintage wardrobe for the Dandy Wellington cruise, this year I am saying "no" to hard deadlines and long sewing to-do lists. Instead, I'm going project-by-project. Of course, I decided my first project will be an 1890s outfit (including all the undergarments, since I have never made a Victorian costume before), but it doesn't feel as stressful because I don't have an event, a hard deadline, or a long list of things to make *after* finishing the Victorian dress. I still have a wish list, but no specific plans or timeline for making anything. In non-sewing plans, I'm also planning to write another novel!
May I ask what your first novel was and where I can find it?
@@crystilmurch5659 Unfortunately, it's not yet published! That's another project for this year. It's a Roman-inspired young adult high fantasy novel about the last student of an ancient magical order who disguises herself as a boy to investigate her mentor's death.
@@Allison35086 Sounds really neat! Wish you all the best with it! And the next one too ofc. :)Working on several myself. Not sure about how to publish yet but trying to get them written for now. :)
I really hope Dandy sent everyone, that poured their hearts out into making costumes for his cruise ,he sent a thank you! He seemed to get off easy 😒.
@@jayneterry8701 I don't think he got off easy at all. Dandy did an incredible amount of work so all of us could have a good time on the cruise. We were all thanking him and the band! They did loads of planning, preparation, and publicity before the trip, then on the trip they performed almost every night and Dandy also lead a number of social events for the group. I was on vacation but they were at work the whole week. All the sewing was just for myself and I don't expect anyone else to thank me for doing it.
Love how you are leaving it to the Universe to lead you to your next moves! And Happy Belated Birthday!
Thank you!! 😊
Wow you have a lot on your plate .
Good fortune to you, to achieve the goals. You have set for yourself.
I hope to take some art painting workshops. I know a lot of
techniques and over 40 yrs of experience. I started my art journey young. I have many art supplies to work with. But most of the time my local art gallery have these workshops on weekdays. When I'm working my real job . Perhaps a bit of sewing crafts too. Just gotta see what life has in store for me. And go with the flow. Best 2023 wishes to all 🎨
Sounds like you've got an excellent year planned. A nice variety of different projects/activities. I joined a mystery quilt club. One chapter of a story and one quilt block pattern per month. Solve the mystery and build a quilt. I've never quilted before, so it should be interesting. Take care.
Omg that sounds super interesting!!! Please come back and update on how that went!
I have watched for a long time, but this is the year of new things so I will respond to you asking for responses! I rather like the long videos. 2022 BLEW. I will not have a continuation of that nonscience. I am working right now on finishing a cross stitch piece that is Halloween themed. I am going to be changing the way that I make bags and pouches for the Rennaissance Fairs I vend at. I need to work on embroidery and beadwork. It makes me happy and calm. I would love to become involved with others that like historical sewing. This venue has made me feel as if I've had friends in in that mind set all along. Thank you! I really appreciate you taking your time to do videos.
💖💖 I’m so glad!
I am team long-form but do what makes you happy
Happy birthday! I think your plans for 2023 sound great! Having more loose goals and letting the universe guide you through it sounds like a healthy approach.
I just cut a new, very warm iron age dress with fabric a friend plant dyed for me. Usually the cutting process is quite easy for me since I make the same "pattern" over and over again but this fabric was really wonky and I had no straight lines to guide me so I hope it turned out alright... Want the dress to be done in a month for a winter event and I'm very motivated but also a little scared. Hand sewing a dress that has potential cut issues in a month is certainly a challenge next to a new full time job...
I'm totally jealous that you are going to Gigi's elevation. I wish I could go! I know Gigi through the SCA when she lived in Gleann Abhann, but found you through CosTube. I haven't commented before because I started with your oldest videos first. It has been nice getting to know you through your vlogs. I'm a social sewer (sewist), so your vlogs help me to not feel alone when I'm sewing which has helped me get things done! The pandemic killed my sewing progress because I couldn't host sewing weekends like. Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for your channel.
Katja the Forthright (in the SCA)
I adore Libib for my library! It's free up to 5,000 items, has a camera barcode scanner in ios and android and fill-in form for out of print, customizable tags, and a desktop mode 😸
I'm always happy to see a new Nichole video. One weaving recommendation: be mindful of metal vs wooden looms. I borrowed a metal table loom and did not enjoy it because of the noise. I found the process boring and loud. Perhaps a wooden loom would have been relaxing. I am working on completing UFO's, mostly quilts, this year. Happy birthday to you! Long videos are fine with me!
My ears perked up when I heard weaving. I've got a small 16 inch rigid headl e loom which I use quite often. Its suprising the amount of different types of weave you can do on them, not just the basic tabby (under over). I find the process of weaving very relaxing and can zone out/meditate when doing so. I mostly do basic tabby weave , but use fun coloured yarns to make thing interesting. Have also done tablet (card) weaving on the loom. Can make longer lengths of braid than on my normal tablet loom.
I like any vid you put out. Long, short or in between. All works for me.
Currently working on a tunisian crochet scarf in hand dyed rainbow merino 4ply to go with the socks i tunisian crocheted in the knit stitch. I've got several sewing projects I should be doing but head isn't in the right place for them yet.
I love the long videos I don’t even sew to be honest with you. But I really like to hear your reasoning and hearing about your endeavors.
Thanks!
happy new year, stay safe and in good health, thank you for the interesting and fun peek into the future! please keep the long videos coming, i love them. :)
Thank you!
Long chats is what I'm here for - it will nice if short form videos could grow your channel. Seems like a lot to do in just one year, good luck.
Looking forward to seeing what you get up to. I would love to see a video showing what you learn with the camera equipment you have and how you use it. Basically I am along for the ride with whatever you are up to; I learn so much that way.
Oh! I will see you next weekend. I am running the registration gate at 12th night. And there is no snow, only rain.
Oh good to know!
cool video, sounds like you have dandy plans, make 2023 rock for yourself, as much as we love to see what you wish to share only put out content as it pleases you to do so, no pressure, we'll still watch🥰
Fun! Can’t wait to see what you make. My must do projects this year are two flower girl dresses for my friend’s wedding. Started the mock ups yesterday, probably my first intentional mock ups 😅. That’s definitely a goal for the year, make more mock ups.
Goal for this year: Stash busting. During a trip to the thrift store, I saw a lot of crafting supplies for sale. All I could think was how these items were a part of someone's stash at one point, someone's dream project that will not come to fruition. And I thought about my stash for the dream projects I planned and have yet to implement.
Awww that’s so sad 💖
get a narrow ware look - inkle, tablet or flat frame (backstrap looks easy, but it's a skill in tensioning literally between you and a fixed point (wall, post or feet)). Even a beadwork loom will teach you weaving and you get something shiny at the end of it. They'll give you an idea of manipulating thread and setting an even tension while weaving without all of the hassle of warping a full loom (even a small tabletop 4 shaft loom needs to be warped and it's not easy). Start on one thing and get that accomplished then work on learning to warp.
Happy belated birthday 🎉 and happy new year 🎆 to all
Thank you!
In 2022 I fully realised the 'buying fabric is a hobby in its own right' thing, so my intentions for this year are to make at least some of the projects I purposefully bought fabric for before buying any more! Last year I also signed up for skillshare and did not cancel in time so I really want to try and learn at least one useful thing from it so I'm not just annoyed at the waste of money. I'm a medium length video watcher, short form makes no sense to me and even though I'll watch many hours worth back to back anything much over half an hour in its own right puts me off. I hope you have a good year, and many successful endeavours
I'd love to encourage you to just dive into sewing knits. I found it a lot easier than I expected especially when working with less-than-100% stretch stuff
Yey, my nosy side is appeased seeing what people are planning to work on in the New Year. Right now my brain is in art world, working on foraged material watercolor paintings. But I'm sure I'll be sucked back into sewing world soon (mostly because I have a play about Irish Coffin ships coming up...). Be well!
If you do some more 20 questions videos, I would love to see you interview TheClosetHistorian.
Cant wait to see you play with some knits. I am just coming to the realization that you can hand sew knits, and so while I used to completely skip anything related to knits it is a bit more relevant now.
I'm one of those people who love your chatty videos! Happy birthday & personal new year! May it be full of adventures!
Thank you!
hurray for knitting!!
Ellie and Mac patterns are great for beginners with knit fabrics
Your goals sound awesome to me! You can do it! Happy birthday 🎂
Thank you!
Down for whatever videos you are able to put out. Excited to see builds and hoping the focus of doing-the-thing rubs off on me 🙂 Personal goal this year is relearning to focus.
That’s a great goal!
I was working on a blanket hoodie for myself and then accidentally sewed a sleeve into the neck so it's in the naughty corner. Yesterday I went to a local quilt shop and picked up a book and some quilting fabrics so I can learn to make quilts, which I'm actually really excited about. I've got some loose ideas of things I'd like to make, so we'll see how those go.
12th Night!!! *SQUEEEE!* Can't wait to meet you! I'm taking the train down, so must pack "lite". Told Gigi, that I'm only doing Roman! No big gowns...no wigs. I think you will enjoy it! Lots, and lots of costumes! Most wear their best, and a lot like to do "something new" each year. I think this one is going to be really fun!! Back to packing!! See you next weekend! -Dame Elenor
Well, I will be severely under dressed then as I only have some armstreet dresses and whatever Gigi brings me! We shall see!
@@Costuming_Drama Don't worry about it!!! You could wear a gunney sack, and we'd still be happy to see you! :)
@@Costuming_Drama I don't know how it happened, but I missed seeing you!!! I was even at Gigi's vigil...and ceremony. How did that happen?? I have a huge sad now! I dressed especially for you. *sigh*. I do hope we have another opportunity at some point in future!
It's so cool how much of your plans involve learning things! Yay for intentional skill development and all that. I purposefully didn't make any sort of "resolutions" but I do want to also try to sew more of my stash. I have a bunch of plans for fabrics I already have but keep getting distracted by new shiny projects... I also need to put my sewing room into better order. I moved back in June 2022 and my sewing space is still a mess in a lot of ways, which makes it stressful to go into...
I'm so excited to see Gigi's elevation to the Pelican! (I can't be there in person, as I'm halfway across the country, but I have friends who'll be there.) I'd love to hear your reaction to attending Twelfth Night--and given that the event is being held in Eugene, OR (which is in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, which is protected from bad weather by mountains on the east and west), and in a hotel, I'll be surprised if y'all have to deal with snow at all.
Love hearing your plans, I hope that they all come to fruition! For me, I'm hoping to get my shoulder repaired so that I can actually sew again without it causing agony within a few minutes. Getting older kinda sucks, but it sure beats the alternative. ;)
It sure does!
Whew! Sounds like you've given yourself a very full plate! Very exciting to start learning so many new things! I wish you the best of luck, and all the stamina! As a multicrafter, I love to see my favorite youtubers branch out, so I am absolutely HERE for all of that! I am smack in the middle of making my very first garment: a big, boxy, 80s coat out of a blanket. It's not quite going as planned, but I'm so happy I've finally gotten started.
Sounds as if you're starting out with a BANG. I think this will be a productive year fir you. Don't forget to "white board" your other goals into small chunks. That seems to work so well for you.
I am getting better at knitting and learning Scandinavian Nalbinding this winter. I hope to make my Gunne Sax dress this year.
Historical Balls? Omg that’s such fun! All the best and I hope you have a great time.
Thank you!
One of my goals is also to take the class I’ve already paid for
For book cataloging, I HIGHLY recommend LibraryThing, which is a free website (they also have an Android app) that allows you to input and organize your books (no limit on the # of items catalogued)! Also it allows tagging so you can just pull up all your unread or recipe books or whatever. I've been using it for a few years now and the app has saved me from re-buying things I already own SO MANY TIMES. 😅 Plus they've done all the database creation, you just have to input the ISBNs or get a cuecat scanner (there's also a camera scanner in the app) for like $5 to make things go faster (I used the scanner bc I have too many books 😂). Happy cataloging!
My goal for 2023 is (the same as always, lol) to finish all my WIPs. I've got one knitting, two quilts and two garments. One is a beautiful ice blue wool coat that I desperately want to work on *right now!* and the other is a dress for a friends wedding that I *should* be working on. Good luck!
You can do it!
Woooo! Pelican! Huzzah! Enjoy 12th night ^___^
Yeah, I'm hearing you about the bummer and moving into the not-bummer. Thanks for being some fun, company and encouragement amongst the bummer year. Hope us, out in Watcherland, have been the same for you.
Looking forward to an interesting year with you and see some of the plans come to fruition.
Try Libib for your catalogue.
For your short form content that could work on Instagram - little tutorial type videos could be great. Short clip with a concise voice over about how to do a welt pocket or sew in a zipper.
