Fabulous jacket! How exciting to work with sew over it, that's awesome. I'm going to the show on Saturday. Totally with you on having a plan before you go. Lovely video as always
Good to see you, it’s like vlogmas all over again 😂 The Frankie jacket is great and looks fabulous on you in the pink. Love the Tokyo fabric. Hope you enjoyed the stitch festival.
i love knowing that you are a performer, and talking about sewing. I am a professional musician of 52 years :) and love sewing and being a low woodwinds professional in Montreal and Los Angeles, even though semi retired at this point. I look forward to your videos. :)
Hello Sarah, love the Frankie jacket and that colour really suits you, Your Hinterland dress is beautiful, I bought that pattern last week in the Minerva sale, it looks very versatile and easy to hack. The Tokyo fabric will be perfect for your honeymoon next year. Sadly I can't make the stitching show but I hope you have a lovely time and look forward to seeing what you find. Have a lovely weekend, cuddles for Nala.
Thanks Phaedra - I look forward to hearing how you get on with the Hinterland Dress - you are right, there are so many ways to use it. Have a lovely weekend 😊
That deep pink looks lovely on you. I had to laugh when you admonished yourself in the fabric store with "get a grip". I know the feeling well. So hard to stay focused when surrounded by all the beautiful fabric.
Oh I'm with you on buying fabric in person being overwhelming! I feel like there's an expectation that buying in person is obviously better but I... don't really enjoy it 😅 I know part of it is that I was buying a lot more fabric during lockdown so couldn't go to a physical shop anyway, but I much prefer the information you get online as there's usually much more fibre content, care instructions etc. I get so irritated when shops don't have the fibre content on the bolt label :P I really like the look of the Frankie jacket, although I wish it had a hood... wondering if I can hack that 🤔
Yes, I am so with you! I only started sewing during lockdown so I think I am just so much more used to purchasing things online. The only exception to that is for plain fabric, as I always find that the colour can vary quite a bit between a picture and real life. I'm sure you could add a hood! I think SOI maybe did a tutorial for how to add a hood to your Dorothy Jacket, and I'm sure that the same principles would apply?
@@superbaillessews Yeah, the sewing workshops I did before lockdown were beginner ones that provided the fabric for you - it felt like I was jumping into the deep end when I started browsing online 😅 Ahh that's very helpful! It looks like it's a class in the Stitch School so I will definitely look into that. Thanks!
Yes I'm sure that that has something to do with it! I only started sewing during lockdown so for at least the first year I only ever shopped online. I think it's because you have all of the information there and you can take some time to explore or something. I just end up making impulse purchases in real life 😂
Oh how I long to be overwhelmed buying fabric in store! There is a dearth of dressmaking fabric outlets in South East Wales sadly. I just try and support small businesses online but I have wasted money on fabric that is not how I imagine either in colour, weight or texture.
That's great that you are able to support small businesses online, for the most part that is what I do too, but I am lucky to not be too far away from London as there are so many shops there for me to be overwhelmed in 😂
Have a fab time at stitch festival.
Thanks Louise 🥰
Omg! Honeymoon in Tokyo sounds amazing! The fabric you chose is so cute! 🎉🎉
Thanks lovely 🥰 just have to work out what to do with it now!

Thanks Polly 🥰 have a lovely weekend x
Really love that pink on you. Also love the pattern
Thank you! It's definitely one of my favourite shades at the moment 😊

Aw that's great! I love finding other sewing musicians. Two great passions combined 🥰 thank you for watching, Nancy xx

Thank you, Nancy 🥰 it is a constant battle (which I frequently lose) to keep my fabric stash in check 😅

I get overwhelmed now when I go into fabric shops! Do you think its because we are out of practice due to lockdown? Love the Japanese fabric!

@Superbailles Sews yes, I agree I feel more pressured to buy something in person than I do online. Therefore buy for the sake of it.
