Hi Sarah, love the African wax prints - pity my hubby was too young when living in Zambia to appreciate gorg fabric. I did buy some African wax print from the Caribbean but stuck what to sew with them. Got the Aspen too but not made yet - hopefully say hello at the SF in March xx

All great dresses. Suprised there wasn’t a mabel in there. Must make the Willow this year. ( said that last year) also really love the belle

I think the orangey coloured fabric would make a great pinafore and you could wear it over orange, brown and black knits to extend its wearability. Love it.

Such beautiful fabrics. I love anything with a strawberry on it. I wonder how the wax print would work in the Aspen. I am obsessed with that pattern right now. I am on a self imposed shopping ban but that pattern is rolling around in my head.

Oh the strawberry print fabric is gorgeous, your Aspen will be fabulous. It might even work for an autumnal aspen in the cotton wax print fabric too (or maybe I’m crazy! 😂) ?

Those wax cottons are gorgeous. Maybe a statement sundress for yours. I know you said you didn't think the other colourway was your colours but I think it would go well with your colouring, but that's just my opinion. Look forward to seeing you make up the Aspen dress. I don't wear dresses that often but maybe I should slowly change that if I find some that fit me well and are comfortable. Have a good week Sarah 😊

I was a part of the pre-release program as well! I skipped out on the internal bra as well, I'm petite, but sew in the H Cup range. I had mocked it up, but it just provided me with 0 support and it made me look like I had 1 boob, which is why I ended up using a different bodice and went with my usual strapless bra. I think it was a fun skill to learn but I had hoped that it was more functional than anything else :/

Learned so much and the style lines are really refreshing. The knit patterns and the jackets are really modern and I wear them all the time. Not bored anymore ❤

Hi Sarah The Monroe dress looks fabulous 🥰 I’ve only ever been to the sewing festivals on a Saturday - so I’m probably used to struggling though epic crowds and losing my companions for aeons at a time 🤣🤣 Seriously considering picking a quieter day this year….although…are there really any quiet days? I love your resolutions Sarah. Mending made me smile, i can relate although this new year i have already worked through two in my pile. I'm hoping to make a summer holiday staple wardrobe and try not to be tempted with lots of new fabric when i have a stash to use!

Great plans ! I'm on a mission to sew up all my denim, so......... I'm on my 3rd Style Arc Stevie jacket this week😮 Dark denim, light denim and now on Emerald green denim, I have pale pink and white to go. It's made me feel better sewing from my stash

I can't wait to see your glitter dress :) I personally plan in my head, as entertainment whenever walking dogs or driving . However my best way to have garments I need, is to just go through stash and jump on something when in the mood, or have a little extra time. Last fall I tried to make a more planned few months, and all the things I cut out are still in envelopes. Lesson learned. Follow my personal best way to have handmade garments ! I made black rayon concert pants last spring, and the fabric has bagged out terribly, so that is the one thing I MUST make again, and soon. :)

I can't wait to see your glitter dress :) For my plans, I have fabrics I like, washed and ready to go, and then suddenly pick something with a pattern and make it. This past fall, I picked a few things that I cut ahead as plans and they still sit in their envelopes. I learned that for myself, cut and sew til finished is my best way to have actual garments that I need. PS I could not find my comment so wrote a second one... sorry if there is a repeat.

I’m trying to adopt a ‘3 out,1 in’ approach to fabric consumption and buying (i.e. make-up/use 3 pieces of fabric before I can buy 1) in order to reduce my stash to a more manageable level. I also want to learn 2 or 3 new skills/techniques in my sewing projects this year. Other than that, no specific goals as I just won’t stick to them!

Absolutely agree with trying to keep on top of things - whenever I go on holidays I get sick😒 And some of our family holidays have been the best. Cheap too. I think a plan to not buy fabric till march is doable - unless they are an absolute must have - like the d&g fabrics. These are one offs and they look so beautiful on you. Enjoy your new year resolutions - I look forward to seeing your makes. My resolutions are to print out and use many more of the pdf patterns! Yikes I have so many and haven't used them. plus I have maybe a couple of hundred paper patterns. Oops

Happy new year. I don’t tend to make specific resolutions as they immediately get broken, however, as my partner and I are now retired we have very little spare cash. With this in mind anything I make will need to coordinate with existing clothing. Not sure how that will work but nothing ventured etc.

Great vlog Sarah - love your plans and I’m like you , have too much fabric and want to sew everything with not a lot of thought in “ will I wear it”. Been sewing for nearly 2 years now but realise I have to now think about what I need in my wardrobe. Happy new year and continue to make great honest vlogs xx

Happy new year. My sewing thoughts are similar to yours this year. I feel like I have done the frenzy sew thing and now I want to slow down and be more thoughtful about what I buy fabric and pattern wise and what I make. I’m hoping to have my head turned less by all the shiny new things. 😂

Your plans sound good, and personalised to you. I’ve found that tying myself down to make 9 etc isn’t helpful. I’d like to make at least a couple of coats and jackets. I’d like to reduce my stash. I’m aiming to only buy 25% of the meterage I use or destash. And yes just sew what I want to sew. I’ve had a go at swimwear but would rather buy it! All the best for 2025 and your plans

Hi Sarah. Make 9 never worked for me either ☹️. I’m starting my sewing plans by doing a good clear out, organize and inventory. I don’t have a big stash per se but have a lot of “bits and pieces “ that I’ve been hanging on to. I will donate them to a good home. I trust that this will clear my creative block and have me plan some pretty spring clothes.

So sorry to hear about your purse. That sucks so close to Christmas! 😢 I’m definitely more of an organic sewist. I do have rough plans (in my stash hub app) but I definitely sew depending on how I feel at any given time. I’ve never done make nine as I don’t really want to be governed by that at all x
