    These are the types of tutorials I love. Straight to the point, no fluff. If it's too fast, it's easy to pause. Thank you. I wish you had something like this for Astrophotography processing in Photoshop!

    Congratulations Ed, you are THE first Vlogger I've come across to actually understand the value of making YOUR cursor more visible for the viewer, making it exponentially easier for us to follow along!! I've been making that suggestion to others for ages! Also congrats for a really great run through and not passing out from hyperventilating! Breathe indeed Lol! Seriously though, I enjoy your vids and learn tons from them so thanks and keep them coming.

    I had a little introductory lesson on Lightroom basics today and then watched this video straight afterwards. Going at speed was fantastic because everything I wanted to reinforce meshed together beautifully - and then I went back and looked more closely at what you clicked on. I've subscribed, thank you.

    Thank you. Amazing coverage in 15 minutes! I will view your complete LR course. A question first, if I can. Why do you import a photo to be edited from one source (column #1) and export it to another (column #3)? Can you just edit a photo in it's source location?

    • @clearlyed
      @clearlyed  6 лет назад +3

      You definitely can yes. You just select add in column 2. But you must already have it on your computer or HD. Don’t ever do this from an sad card.

    Got to be honest although that is possibly the best Ive seen to date for a beginner with a big fat B,i'm still a bit lost, however I will get there by asking totally biff questions, the first being...... are these images RAW images and can you only work with RAW images, with jpegs are you pretty much stuck with what comes out of the camera?
    Sorry for the biff Q,and tnx in advance for any answer.

    • @clearlyed

    I've noticed that when viewing a photo for the first time in Lightroom it looks "plain" (the RAW image) until it has finished loading, and then Lightroom applies some minor tweaks. usually they're pleasing, but I'm curious as to whether this can be turned off so that I am only seeing the plain RAW image.

    • @clearlyed
      @clearlyed  6 лет назад +31

      Actually it’s the other way. It shows you an embedded preview which is a jpeg (even if your not shooting jpeg). When it fully loads this is the actual RAW file and Lightroom has added nothing to it. I hope this helps.

    Does anyone else feel the composition of the video is a bit too distracting with all the studio lights in the background? Feels like it's detracting from the subject of the video. I mean, do I need to see all those lights, your computer with all it's reflections and details when what's really important in the video is the speaker and what he has to say. Perhaps you can start the video with your current wide shot to set the stage and then cut in close for the meat of the video.

      No Ray. Rather than be very close to a polite troll and criticizing the inconsequentials that are meaningless, did you call out any key points or tips that may have been helpful? LIKE ALL OF IT?? No, you didn't. It was extremely well done. Go play kiddie director at the kids table and stop being a tosser. If you're distracted , you have bad ADD. There are plenty of videos about ADD and OCD and clearly you're spending too much time in the wrong category. I keep forgetting that your version of freedom of speech must be a license for freedom of stupidity. Think Ritalin. Then come back and watch the video. And your dog is stupid too. Put that pooch on a diet.

He does a great job and I will begin to Follow his channel just because he gives me all I need in a short amount of time. In this video, for example, he gave me tons of information about Lightroom in only 15 minutes! That's what I want to see. Effective and efficient information delivery for those of us who don't have time for more.

    Fantastic video! Coming from Photoshop I was a little skeptical about the power of Lightroom... but I started using it and it's saving me tons of time! It's fantastic and I really don't need PS anymore unless I want to do advanced retouching. I also don't need to use Bridge anymore! Thanks for your video.

    Really enjoy using the stitching tool for panoramas. With a little editing in photo shop you can create some great artificial shots that piece together entire vacations into a single photo
