A boyfriend surprised me with tickets to this show for my 30th birthday. It was the best damn show I've ever been to. D Plan 4 lyfe. D.C. Music will never be the same.
Dang, looks like fun. Being relatively young I would’ve never been able to guess what a Dismemberment Plan concert was like. I’ve never seen a performance with this kind of energy, it’s really amazing.
@@DSPHistoricalSociety I’ve seen some old footage of those concerts! Tracks from “!” are just super energetic and fun. I’d love to find some more bands with that feel.
One of those human moments that would completely stump an alien anthropologist, while giving them a tinge of joy from places unknown. This is universal goodness right here. Inexplicable creaturely goodness.
this proves that if you are willing to not take yourself too seriously and just have fun, people will love you despite being horribly out of tune. Such great energy, who cares!!!
I'm so glad I was able to see the Plan about 10 times between the release of Emergency & I and their hiatus. Got to see them play all my favorite material off of Change and Emergency & I multiple times. Their shows were always amazing. Eric is such a nice guy too. He always recognized my friend and me and would come talk to us before or after the shows.
Travis is cool as hell, so that doesn't surprise me, but what the fuck? That's the last thing I'd ever imagine anyone doing if they got the chance to join the band onstage.
If you watch the video for this same song from April 2007 that is called The Dismemberment Plan Ice of Boston - Pro Shot, you'll see that there was a guy with a camera standing next to Travis doing the exact same thing - so it's probably a tradition.
Man, the entire comment section for this video is going to be people talking about how that guy changed their joyful smiles into pained ones. I just hope he reads this someday and makes better decisions.
Die Hard and the Ice of Boston should be Christmas/New Years standards! The 9:30 Club is so iconic. It's a DC legend! Is The Dismemberment Plan's CD a part of the back wall?
Let the man do what he wants do, each person can experience their D-Plan experience in their own unique way and enjoy it in whatever they like, it doesn't have to be how you like it, now shut up, Ice of Boston is on.
Those 38-year-olds flooding the stage are my people...
I thought I saw myself on stage, but it turns out it was just a whole bunch of dudes who look exactly like me.
All hipsters look alike ;)
Why is this so moving, Jesus Christ
all that millenial joy is so undoubtedly pure and beautiful
here's to another god damn new year
god this band changed my life since 13

Less than Jake used to put on really, really fun concerts in the mid-late 90s

The Hold Steady has great energy and is fun!!!!
God I wanna see them so badly. It's probably not gonna happen but I can dream.
Same!!!
Man I love this, concerts should be experiences. Look at how much fun everyone is having, stage presence goals

The guy with the phone is who Jim Gaffigan was referring to when he said “hey instead of enjoying this moment, let’s take pictures!”
And then text someone said picture while standing right next to the lead singer of the band

Their shows were so good. I saw them in Glasgow every time. Travis was such a friendly dude.
This video has the best preview image I've ever seen.
I was at this show with my sister. I'm on the right side of the screen at 1:50 and my sis is next to me. Best. Show. Ever.
Travis for President.

The guy in the beard with the phone ruins the whole video.
Weird how the people on floor in the audience don't seem that into it.
They were doing the Standing Still
