    I think that anytone might just need a straight through with no USB to serial converter in the cable...(the USB to serial converter is in the radio) at least that's how my anytone d878uvii+ HT is... When I plug the cable in with no radio, no serial port is detected. Once I plug it into the radio and turn it on, the serial port appears.

      My baofeng uv5r cable doesn't work with the anytone (and vis-versa), even though they look almost identical... In fact, the first anytone cable that came with it was faulty, and while I waited for them to ship a replacement I made a temporary cable from an old USB-A cable and a 2.5mm and a 3.5mm audio jack, with no USB chip - the radio connected right up to the computer... ( This is for the AT D878UVii+ ... The radio you've got might be different!) Thanks for your videos, I enjoy them a lot!

      @@TonyAlbus In case it's helpful; the straight through pinout for my AT D878UVii+ is: USB-A (4)GND to 2.5mmTRS sleeve; USB-A (2)D- to 2.5mmTRS ring; USB-A (3)D+ to 3.5mmTRS tip ; all other pins are n/c.

    I am sceptical to the Profilic (PL2303) USB chip. Does this work "out of the box" unlike the counterfeits ones?

      some work some dont

      @comprotudo 2 года назад +1

      @@dennisqwertyuiop I agree. I have an old one that works perfectly.
      I tried some new and most of them are fake and do not work under Win10/11.
      It´s a good idea to use FTDI instead.

      This one just worked, but i never have to much problems on my computer on Win10, but i don't use these cables via a usb-hub, always direct to the computer.

      I know there is a "fix" for W7 and W10 for some of these chips. It's the "PL2303_Prolific_GPS_1013_20090319.exe" driver. Install first, and then get a COM-port error. Then in the device manager, select the port and choose manually which driver to use. Select and older version, v3.2 or lower. Then it usually will work.

    So you think it will work with Kenwoods? I have D7 and a F6. 73.
