I'm so interested in the themes of Sanctified! I don't tend to enjoy extra steamy romances but the story and characters sound great so I may give it a try anyway YES so invested in the actual Crooked Rock center!! that's the HEA I'm most invested in right now, lol I HIGHLY recommend the Regency Faerie Tales series by Olivia Atwater!! absolutely wonderful female MCs (practical and compassionate and Do Not Put Up With Nonsense), great blend of historical + fantasy elements, clever writing, and I really really loved the themes about the necessity of anger and its ability to create change in the world. The romance subplots are understated but I loved them as well 💕
Going to add a few of these books to my to-read-ASAP list! One of my favorite indie books is (I know I'm crazy) is "Den of Vipers" by K. A. Knight. After reading the book, I realized two things. One, I fell in love with Diesel. And two, I need to seek immediate therapy BECAUSE I fell in love with Diesel.
I really enjoyed The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott, which is about a heroine that's a graphic artist and the hero has several jobs actually. They both have a somewhat traumatic past in different ways, and they help each other. I really enjoyed this book because although I am not a graphic novel artist, I was an ex art major for a while. Someone the comments she makes about art supplies, and she connects with her story kind of resonated with me. She's also Italian, which....isn't really a huge deal, but my best friend is Italian, and some of the things she says about being Italian kind of reminds me of my friend. I also really love the way the author write about how they struggle with their dark pasts. I don't really love romance a whole lot, but I do pick up a romance on ocasion, and this happens to be one of them. Teach Me sounds like something I would like because I am in the education field, and not many people appreciates how hard being an educator is. I am still trying to get my teaching credentials, and they make it seriously hard for perspective teachers to do so. I enjoyed this video, it's interesting to hear about your favorite Indie books even though a lot of them are Romance, I still think it is kind of interesting to hear what other people's thoughts are on books I don't usually pick up.
Atlas Six sounds so good. I'm waiting for my library to get it. I think I only read one indie title this year and while it was promising it wasn't... good. Like, I want to read the next book, but book one got a real weak 3 stars.
I haven't finished this book yet, but I am enjoying Wild Sun by Ehsan Ahmad and Shakil Ahmad. This is a science fiction story. It is published by Uproar books, which I had not heard of before.
Jenna Moreci is woefully ignored on booktube. She’s a RUclipsr who writes fantasy romance and her Savior’s series is just fantastic - it’s sexy, feminist, violent (in a battle way), and just a fun ride. Highly recommend. She’s self published.
My fav indie is Rachelle Mills. I recommend anyone checking out her Wildlife Series. If you like werewolves, I suggest checking it out. Order: Clayton, Dallas, Cassius (His Alpha is in the same universe)
This was a great video spotlight. Have a lot of books on my tbr for the year now!
Wonderful!

Maybe give Sanctified a try! You could always skim the more steamy scenes. There's a lot to it.
Watching ❤️
I really loved “Shortcake” by Lucy Watson. I get so sad when I realize it’s her only book.
Teach Me is probably my favourite Olivia Dade!
It's so good!
I love the idea of a collection having 'here's where I was when I wrote this' included--neat! Great round-up, Bethany 🤗

Thanks for sharing! Yes, a lot of these were romance and I probably read more indie romance than anything else. But Teach Me is really great.

Atlas Six is great! That's unfortunate about the indie title. They can be hit and miss

YAYYY!!! How to Stay is such a gorgeous, amazing book!
It really is!! I feel like no one else has read it!
