The original plan was for the boss and me to travel in January, but in the current situation, we thought otherwise, and decided instead to check in to Bengaluru’s newest five star hotel, The Leela Bhartiya City for an indulgent gourmet staycation. In the first part of this vlog, there was no way I could cram all that we tasted as part of our exciting culinary experiences here into one vlog, we check into a room with a fabulous view, before a big Asian lunch that was followed by a modest, thankfully ;-), tapas dinner.

Prices:
When this staycation was filmed, rooms at The Leela Bhartiya City were available for around Rs. 8,000 plus tax per night. As for food, the all-day dining restaurant, Quattro offers buffets priced upwards of Rs. 1150 plus tax. The Sunday brunch begins at Rs. 1999 plus tax per person. The Lotus Oriental offers a grazing brunch on weekends at Rs. 1550 plus tax. The Indian restaurant, Falak, offers set menus beginning at Rs. 2800 plus tax.

Convey my “happy eating” to your som, Gani. A room at The Leela could be between 7 or 8k or more per night depending on when you book and where. I would always factor in as much for food too, for two people, of course that would vary depending on how indulgent one is.
Being from North and having travelled to South many a times, I can vouch for the fact that the Hotels in South are far better priced than ones in the North for similar ambience and service. Food ofcourse is good in Bengaluru, Kochin and Hyderabad but not so good in Chennai.
Similar room in North would cost 10-12K.

Had a second thought of watching this episode as this is in excess 40Mins; but Kiripal Ji I bet you I felt like wanted this to continue forever. Such a delicious food corners, varieties in tastes and love poured on your from all the chefs are simply mind blowing, and shows the respect that you have inherited over the period.

The seating of the tapas restaurant seems uncomfortable for a dining setting. Appreciate that it was probably thought out to be as a mingling space and pick-up a mouthful sort of food, but personally to me I wouldn't want to bend so much to pick up each time and would be conscious of food drops each time.
It isn’t a tapas restaurant, but a bar actually. The sort of place when et one could linger over a drink and conversation, finger food being part of the experience rather than an elaborate meal.
Absolutely. India is a paradox country. The greatest tastes are not just in glitterati hotels but also on the streets, deserts and tribes of India. One who tastes all of these and gives his unbiased opinion can be called as a master. Kripal is a master of food lovers. I want you to try out the cuisine on deserts and tribes of India and gives us a review.

It’s Kripal’s vlog and nothing can go wrong with the quality. It’s stunning how he carries himself , the way he speaks, full points scored on each and every aspect. Special mention to the tolerance that Kripal and his wife have, for if I was Kripal , I would’ve bolted out of that Italian restaurant shown towards the end. There was too much talking from the chefs. All unnecessary, uncomfortable talk. I’m pretty sure the food wasn’t even half as good as how much the folks from the restaurant spoke. Typical 5 star things I suppose .

Kripal much appreciate the ease with which you put your self as per situation and place. Just 3 days back we saw enjoying the brinjal masala and jawar bhakari with full hand at Kamat's and today you are enjoying continental food with chopsticks , knife and fork the Leena. At two completely contradictory places and food style, your words and pallet been short in describing and enjoying meals. Hats off.
While this blog is good , I guess your blogs on common peoples eateries are better and makes more sense .
Specially in these tough times wherein splurging is difficult to accept .

I just can’t have this fancy food. So I like to go to Taj Mahal & ITC where you get best local food. Pav Bhaji or Chole Kulcha at Shamiana or Idli Dosa or Dal Bhukarav Rice at ITC make good food 😂😂.

Hello Kripal, - How does one tip the folks at the hotel.. the etiquette one needs to follow - tipping yet not making a big deal of it!
The lady who has led you to your room, if that was taken as an example..

Everyone has their own way of doing it, but if one were to tip during a stay, one could leave an envelope at the desk at time of checkout. Usually, hotels distribute that across rank and file. It takes many people other than those that you actually see to deliver the experiences and good hotel is mindful of that. Of course, you could always tip your housekeeper, butler, restaurant staff separately too.

Thanks Gajendra, a room here is around 7 to 8k per night plus plus depending on what one would like to pack in. Of course, a staycation like this is an indulgence, but worth what one would pay in my opinion.

Started watching and then realized this is not something to watch just like that. One needs to watch it at leisure and savour it. So stopping now to come back a little later when I'm free enough to spend over 40 minutes relishing this.
Okay, so just watched/relished the whole video. Drooled over the grilled meat and the fish! Wouldn't mind trying out that last nightcap - the one that smells like plum cake. Overall, a video that feels like one's had a huge, delicious meal.
