Same!! He still does what he likes and it doesn't feel like he's getting "backseat gamed" but it's very nice to see how he really takes the comments in to account and gets ideas and inspiration and tips from it.
I had the same issue. I built a small little farmers’ market stand for my retail store and all of my oversized crops were selling for about $30 instead of the $500 they were worth! So instead of selling the crops, I started canning and those sell for the right price. Also the wool, eggs, and milk are priced correctly! It just seems to be an issue with the oversized crops.
Remember the Banana Stand? Didn't PlahneTayne use the Lice Cold Freezer from GTW, so she wouldn't have to chat up all the customers? Maybe you did that, too. And I could swear you can markup your prices in retail as well as with the selling table. If an item is only selling for 7 simoleons, tho, that might not help that much. It would have to be several hundred percent markups. I have used the retail mod by edit: LittleMsSam, and it's quite good.
I really wish they would take the time to make packs compatible with each other before they released them. Like why can't you sell crops on the selling table. There's so many little things like you can't watch holiday related things on the tv from tiny living. It's so frustrating.
I don't know if anyone said it already, but Trenton had an aspiration working on handiness skill and once you finish it you can "Instant upgrade" stuff and it works for sheds and coops! You don't need upgrade parts when you do the instant upgrades either so that's extremely helpful for coops/sheds!
Chaz: Its not so bad losing a competition Trenton, I've lost a ton and I turned out fine. Trenton: Chaz I came in 3rd place and there were only 2 entrants total. Chaz: Oh my god that hilarious- I mean yeah its hard.
Short info about the Error: It only happens when you live in Henford-on-Bagley and travel with the household living there. Though the error itself doesn't cause the game to crash, I recommend that you check out your homeless households in the household manager, cause the error is a sign of the not-so-awesome glitch which makes a shitload (and I mean SHITLOAD, like, ~hundreds~ of them) of empty households spawn and bloat your save-game until it's literally unplayable. Fun fact: The empty households are believed to be foxes which failed to spawn. Literally cannot live in the new world at all because this happens every single time I travel. Keep an eye on the size of your savegame and use MCCC to delete all culled households after every travel. :)
Luckily it doesn't seem to be a very common problem so I wouldn't worry too much about it, but it's good to keep a backup save at all times ~in case~ you get it.

LittleMsSam has a live in retail lot trait mod. Makes things easier. A grocery store is gonna be annoying but a farm shop makes sense. You can sell fizzy juices, honey, candles, milk, eggs, a little produce, pies.. All stuff you made on the farm. And it would be a good enterprise for Hazel
I feel like Hazel is really gonna be the capitalist in all this. Chaz and Trenton were just trying to have a comfortable life and provide food for themselves, while Hazel wants a BIG house that’s fully decorated and wants nothing to do with dirt and farm animals
This is just a suggestion, but since its so hard to get regular eggs, because of all the speciel hens. James could buy a third coop, wirh just regular hens. So there is a golden, midnight and regular coop.
Taking pictures of animals works to up your friendship level too! You can't select them specifically but if you just choose the take photo option but take it of them it works!
Omg thank you so much for sharing this! I like all the sims of the household to have a good relationship with the animals but it's so time consuming. Does it only work for the wild animals or the chickens, cows and llamas are included too?
@@anthologyofwhat That's so cute, I never thought of it like that. I make them all friends because all the sims have other jobs, so if one is busy the others can take care of the animals. But if the farm is the only source of income it makes sense that all sims would have different responsibilities and favorites.

Hazel getting confused with Saturday being Trenton’s busiest day with Saturday being his least busy day is pretty funny. She probably didn’t even pick up a gig for the day to hang out with him. 😂
I think in the last episode of Dream Home Decorator, Hazel should sneak move in! She picks a gig at the Ricks farm and uses her own items and designs to her own taste.

I have waited since this pack was released for him to do the golden pulsing with the chickens. Finally! Also if you put the wool on the ground by the golden chickens they will golden pulse it (same with all produce, milk, honey, eggs, etc.)
James, not sure if anyone has said before or not but I'm pretty sure you don't have to stay at the fair until the end. I've taken my sim off doing things in other neighbourhoods and just gotten the notification that the fair finished and whether I won and everything still popped back into my household inventory. Gotten at least a second place ribbon while doing that....😀😀 Loving this series!
I got a red ribbon doing that but the hen that should have won a red just got a white one AND she wasn’t returned to us. First time that’s happened and she was in really good condition and our favourite 😢

i think he needs to get a third coop of just normal chickens, so he can get normal eggs to cook with Edit: I say a third coop because then he wouldn’t forget to keep the normal chickens stocked, instead of just hatching golden eggs
James - here is a tip - only name the rabbits AFTER you get them to help you - then you can tell right away if they are instead of waiting for the popup...
Regarding the 'sad' moodlet: Complete the fishing aspiration, once you do, you can quckly get rid of negative moodlets by fishing. Because fishing is fun 🐟
Each rabbit has their own favorite gift. If you ask them, then you can give them the proper gift. It is two lines above the “gardening help enabled” when you hover over.
When I was around 7 my dance studio took us to a competition where we were the only ones in our bracket and we got second place. Because apparently they decided to score on some sort of point system 😂
Don’t forget about the juice fizzing! Maybe it’s time to start harvesting all the crops in the greenhouse? Also knitting you can sell on plopsy so if the crops aren’t ready, you have other ways to take money! The knitting also uses wool, but not as much wool.

Watching Clare Siobhan and JT’s Sims LPs back-to-back is like watching two totally different games. CAS, for one, could NOT be more different - makeovers are exciting highlights of Clare’s eps, where characters are carefully and lovingly designed so we can see each character’s inner journey reflected in their looks. James, on the other hand, quickly adds a hat, calls it ugly, and calls the job done. lol. Love both tho!
I love that he looked in the chest for treats and didn't scroll down and realise he has coloured wool in there already! Also if you have 2 sims they can both put in entries, I know you only have one llama but they could both enter wool.
Love the idea of Kim helping Chaz to iron out the kinks of his new grocery store! She could give her expertise and they can build a relationship (even if it's platonic)

It’s crazy that chaz gained weight with all the gardening he does. I feel like gardening should at least negate the weight gain since it’s physical labor but it would make sense for him to have at least some muscle instead.
Sadly EA haven’t added metabolism to Sims 4. Which sucks. Sims 2 and 3 had it. Way more realistic with it. 😑 I really hope they fix that in an upgrade. 🤔
Maybe Chaz or Trenton can just bring the yardsale table with them to the fair and sell their produce and become a feirce competitor to Kim and Agatha. I wish I would've thought of this earlier in the LP because probably no one will like this idea, but it's worth a shot.

You can actually submit multiple entries in the Fair competitions from a household, one entry per Sim per category…a little friendly competition 😉 I find that my Sims will win more often if more entries are submitted!!!
The aspiration reward trait where you can instant-upgrade items also works to instant-upgrade coops and animal sheds, and doesn't require upgrade parts. Just in case you get bored of the tasks from the NPCs.
After the dream home decorator lp is over, Hazel and Trenton should "move" into the rental store and you could keep 2 lps going, one with chaz and the farm, and another one with hazel and trenton building a family and running the grocery store with his brother's produce
It would be a great idea, if not for the fact that Chaz got Trenton to move in because he needed a farmhand...If one of them adopted a child, that child can grow on the farm and end up helping...maybe?

I started looking into how to make cc mesh with the express purpose of trying to remove the cat ears and make a plain winter hat with the ear flaps... hasn’t worked so far. But I know how to do recolors so I at least removed the face...
What bothers me even more is how short all the men's tee shirts are. I find dressing male Sims so much harder than female Sims. All the shirts either look like they shrunk or they are tucked in and I don't know any guys who wear tee shirts that stop at their waistline or who tuck them in. Can we please get some looser, longer tee's for the males???

Suggestion: You should name only the rabbits who are helping so when u hover over you can quickly tell if help is enabled (named=enabled, wild=not) Also I think they can both enter the fairs but I’m not positive tbh
Use the frogs to make a frog hotpot via off the grid cooking on your stove or I think it also works on a grill. When I’m off the grid and poor in sims I breed the frogs, sell the expensive ones, and eat the cheapest ones.
To avoid having to drag every oversized crop out and then set them for sale in the store, maybe you could just sell the big oversized ones from the “extra” patch? That way you’d only have 12 (ideally) big crops to drag out and set for sale instead of every single one (If the bug gets fixed)
You could move the kitchen of the retail store to upstairs. There you could have a “mini-house” to help with all sims needs while they sell stuff downstairs. Put down the walls downstairs and please finish furnishing the farm’s house!
You know this is the most relaxing part of my morning. After I’ve taken care of the circus that is my household and I finally can drink my lukewarm tea, I love watching James for some me time 😅

I'm binging the old Bigwallet series and it's so weird to see James face again after only hearing his voice in the older videos XD I'm excited to see Hazel on the farm! As for the retail lot I think it would be best to do what another comment said and make it like a giftshop type thing. You can sell canned foods, cross stich patterns, pies, and Hazel's painting (haha a homage to the Lady who started it all)

make some friendly treats and feed them to your animals. they're super fast to make, you can make eight at a time, and it boosts your relationship with the animals a ton. then you're more likely to win the competitions. I just feed my animals friendly treats every day rather than feeding them regular food.
Regarding rabbit gifts: the favorites are CATEGORIES of gift not specific items. So, that first rabbit liked *produce* as their favorite gift, you don’t have to keep giving them cowberries. It can be cheap produce. Farmed insects are also a frequent favorite of rabbits.
I’ve found that perfect produce keeps the antisocial reactions down from those that like it, too. Almost all of my rabbits love perfect carrots, so I have a quarter of my greenhouse growing them with another doing flowers for some of my birds. Lol Little buggers are all spoiled 😉
@@georgiam7723 Great tip. I have so many golden chickens so everything is perfect, that I had not noticed if they liked it better than normal produce. My birds also love farmed insects, and I use the LittleMsSam mod "Nurture Gives More Health" to make it manageable. She made it like you'd expect it to work.

i tried having a farm & produce store too, but even with 300% mark up it was not profitable in any way :( i ended up doing a bakery, selling baked goods i made with my produce, canning, etc
I wish they would let the retail lots sell however and whatever they wanted. It would be cool to be able to create a Cracker Barrel type lot with a cute rustic/country/rural type restaurant that has an adorable gift shop also.
James, I believe they can each win at a single fair, because different sims can submit items to the different categories, so if Chaz submitted the Llama, Trenton could submit wool and they each could win

The retail store can be Hazel’s pet project. She can redesign each room to showcase her design business and sell her paintings like an art gallery. During the winter Trenton can bake pies to sell as well instead of farming in snow.
I agree with what a lot of people are saying here, turn it into a little village corner store that sells pies, canned goods, fizzy drinks, frogs, Hazel's paintings and Chaz' cross stitch!
If no one makes a mod to fix the store, you could always keep it, still sell your things there, then give chaz and treton like 5x the total manually, it would be tedious to have to keep track of all that probably but that way you can keep and run the store still. It's a cool thing imo.

You should move the kitchen back to the room behind it and add a small table and a tv, so that can be the break room. Then you can make a small checkout counter for the cash register and have more room for display shelves (and so customers can't use the kitchen and accidentally burn the place down). I really think the house will need an expansion when Hazel moves in. A sunroom would be nice, you might need a TV room plus room for both dogs.
The dogs should have outside kennels because farm dogs usually sleep outside.

Omg thank you so much for sharing this! I like all the sims of the household to have a good relationship with the animals but it's so time consuming. Does it only work for the wild animals or the chickens, cows and llamas are included too?

@@anthologyofwhat That's so cute, I never thought of it like that. I make them all friends because all the sims have other jobs, so if one is busy the others can take care of the animals. But if the farm is the only source of income it makes sense that all sims would have different responsibilities and favorites.
I think it will be pretty cool if Hazel would pursuit her painter aspiration on the farm, so some of her painting could be sold in that shop.

There’s a commercial fridge from get to work and if you stock it with juices or milks, sims will be able to purchase from the fridge.
There Is a mod by Brazin Lotus that works like that fridge but looks like a farmer's stand and works only in retail lots. Sims purchase produce directly from it.

I have waited since this pack was released for him to do the golden pulsing with the chickens. Finally! Also if you put the wool on the ground by the golden chickens they will golden pulse it (same with all produce, milk, honey, eggs, etc.)
James, not sure if anyone has said before or not but I'm pretty sure you don't have to stay at the fair until the end. I've taken my sim off doing things in other neighbourhoods and just gotten the notification that the fair finished and whether I won and everything still popped back into my household inventory. Gotten at least a second place ribbon while doing that....😀😀 Loving this series!
I got a red ribbon doing that but the hen that should have won a red just got a white one AND she wasn’t returned to us. First time that’s happened and she was in really good condition and our favourite 😢

i think he needs to get a third coop of just normal chickens, so he can get normal eggs to cook with

James - here is a tip - only name the rabbits AFTER you get them to help you - then you can tell right away if they are instead of waiting for the popup...
I do the same plus I dress them in clothes crafted by the creature keeper so I know if a naked one shows up they're new

Complete the fishing aspiration, once you do, you can quckly get rid of negative moodlets by fishing.

Each rabbit has their own favorite gift. If you ask them, then you can give them the proper gift. It is two lines above the “gardening help enabled” when you hover over.

Don’t forget about the juice fizzing! Maybe it’s time to start harvesting all the crops in the greenhouse? Also knitting you can sell on plopsy so if the crops aren’t ready, you have other ways to take money! The knitting also uses wool, but not as much wool.

Watching Clare Siobhan and JT’s Sims LPs back-to-back is like watching two totally different games. CAS, for one, could NOT be more different - makeovers are exciting highlights of Clare’s eps, where characters are carefully and lovingly designed so we can see each character’s inner journey reflected in their looks. James, on the other hand, quickly adds a hat, calls it ugly, and calls the job done. lol. Love both tho!
I love that he looked in the chest for treats and didn't scroll down and realise he has coloured wool in there already!
Also if you have 2 sims they can both put in entries, I know you only have one llama but they could both enter wool.

It’s crazy that chaz gained weight with all the gardening he does. I feel like gardening should at least negate the weight gain since it’s physical labor but it would make sense for him to have at least some muscle instead.
Sadly EA haven’t added metabolism to Sims 4. Which sucks. Sims 2 and 3 had it.

You can actually submit multiple entries in the Fair competitions from a household, one entry per Sim per category…a little friendly competition 😉 I find that my Sims will win more often if more entries are submitted!!!
The aspiration reward trait where you can instant-upgrade items also works to instant-upgrade coops and animal sheds, and doesn't require upgrade parts. Just in case you get bored of the tasks from the NPCs.

After the dream home decorator lp is over, Hazel and Trenton should "move" into the rental store and you could keep 2 lps going, one with chaz and the farm, and another one with hazel and trenton building a family and running the grocery store with his brother's produce

I started looking into how to make cc mesh with the express purpose of trying to remove the cat ears and make a plain winter hat with the ear flaps... hasn’t worked so far. But I know how to do recolors so I at least removed the face...
What bothers me even more is how short all the men's tee shirts are. I find dressing male Sims so much harder than female Sims. All the shirts either look like they shrunk or they are tucked in and I don't know any guys who wear tee shirts that stop at their waistline or who tuck them in. Can we please get some looser, longer tee's for the males???

Suggestion: You should name only the rabbits who are helping so when u hover over you can quickly tell if help is enabled (named=enabled, wild=not)

Use the frogs to make a frog hotpot via off the grid cooking on your stove or I think it also works on a grill. When I’m off the grid and poor in sims I breed the frogs, sell the expensive ones, and eat the cheapest ones.
I find that slightly disturbing. And I have eaten frogs before.
If you have valuable frogs, you can go "fish with baits" and catch pretty expensive fish! Like in the 200-500$.
To avoid having to drag every oversized crop out and then set them for sale in the store, maybe you could just sell the big oversized ones from the “extra” patch? That way you’d only have 12 (ideally) big crops to drag out and set for sale instead of every single one

Try taking a bunch of pictures of them, I think that helps as well!

You could move the kitchen of the retail store to upstairs. There you could have a “mini-house” to help with all sims needs while they sell stuff downstairs. Put down the walls downstairs and please finish furnishing the farm’s house!

I'm excited to see Hazel on the farm! As for the retail lot I think it would be best to do what another comment said and make it like a giftshop type thing. You can sell canned foods, cross stich patterns, pies, and Hazel's painting (haha a homage to the Lady who started it all)

make some friendly treats and feed them to your animals. they're super fast to make, you can make eight at a time, and it boosts your relationship with the animals a ton. then you're more likely to win the competitions. I just feed my animals friendly treats every day rather than feeding them regular food.
Regarding rabbit gifts: the favorites are CATEGORIES of gift not specific items. So, that first rabbit liked *produce* as their favorite gift, you don’t have to keep giving them cowberries. It can be cheap produce. Farmed insects are also a frequent favorite of rabbits.
I’ve found that perfect produce keeps the antisocial reactions down from those that like it, too. Almost all of my rabbits love perfect carrots, so I have a quarter of my greenhouse growing them with another doing flowers for some of my birds. Lol Little buggers are all spoiled 😉
@@georgiam7723 Great tip. I have so many golden chickens so everything is perfect, that I had not noticed if they liked it better than normal produce. My birds also love farmed insects, and I use the LittleMsSam mod "Nurture Gives More Health" to make it manageable. She made it like you'd expect it to work.

i tried having a farm & produce store too, but even with 300% mark up it was not profitable in any way :( i ended up doing a bakery, selling baked goods i made with my produce, canning, etc
I wish they would let the retail lots sell however and whatever they wanted.
It would be cool to be able to create a Cracker Barrel type lot with a cute rustic/country/rural type restaurant that has an adorable gift shop also.

Maybe you can try to get more animal shed upgrade parts with Trenton? He hasn't done all the errands yet so maybe it'll be easier for him to get the ones with animal shed upgrade parts

The retail store can be Hazel’s pet project. She can redesign each room to showcase her design business and sell her paintings like an art gallery. During the winter Trenton can bake pies to sell as well instead of farming in snow.

I agree with what a lot of people are saying here, turn it into a little village corner store that sells pies, canned goods, fizzy drinks, frogs, Hazel's paintings and Chaz' cross stitch!

If no one makes a mod to fix the store, you could always keep it, still sell your things there, then give chaz and treton like 5x the total manually, it would be tedious to have to keep track of all that probably but that way you can keep and run the store still. It's a cool thing imo.

You should move the kitchen back to the room behind it and add a small table and a tv, so that can be the break room. Then you can make a small checkout counter for the cash register and have more room for display shelves (and so customers can't use the kitchen and accidentally burn the place down). I agree that Chaz just doesn't seem like the settling/family type. LOVE your TF hoodie! Can't wait to see the front garden/courtyard that you come up with for the farm. I just love your videos in general--so thanks!
