hi I don't have any problem with termites coz I am in a cold zone.I have spoken with farmers from warm areas and they say ash is good to privent termites also they remove mulching
Joe;You are getting your apple training partly right? Tthis type of tree needs to develop a central leader system of training your tree with several different layer of branches moving up the tre until it reaches about three meters high- This will take at least three years!! then you need to plant a three meter pole in cement to fasten your central leader to! You will need to tie or fasten the side branches horizontal-upward branches grow upward , flat branches start to develop fruit spurs! You can develop a heavy crop of fruit on these trees so you dont want it dragging in the mud or pulling your tree over!! If you are having trouble setting fruit on your trees, check the varietie that you were sold ! Some of them will not cross- pollenate with one variety but will with another. If your trees will not cross-pollenate you can plant one tree in ten by ten of a compatable variety and in good weather that will work out OK . Peaches are self- pollenating so you dont have to worry about them! You can start new peach trees by airlayering 50 centimeter long new growth and in two months you will have a new start! This will be a standard sized tree, tho, and it will grow like a demon and you will have to prune it hard and thin the fruit heavily twice a year!! Good luck with your farm!
hi thank you for your advice,I saw a farmer doing that. pls if you have photos or any RUclips videos pls share the links about the pollination the apple I have don't need another type. the name of the apple is wambungu it was grafted or developed in kenya
