My dad worked here for years. It was the headquarters for a timeshare company, back in the early 90s.

I would frequent the bridge and Zealandia in high school - such memories! Every time I visit Asheville, it is the first place I go. Thank you for taking me back without having to travel, and how exciting to go inside Zealandia! There used to be an area close by that was burned (wasn't sure if it was still there) and I always wondered if that is where the fire occurred - but then I also wonder about the affair story, as well. Hmm.. In any event, I was introduced to the bridge when I was out riding around with some friends one night. We rode up this curvy road (I remember one of them had a cassette playing of the Legend soundtrack and the song "Loved by the Sun" was playing) and as we approached the bridge, another friend said, "Some lady hung herself from there." It not only peaked my curiosity, but terrified me at the same time, just the imagery, so I had to go back, even so much as taking a Ouija Board with me once (I was a teen enthralled by the paranormal, especially since at the time I felt Asheville was boring - no haters, please)... Anyway, it continues to captivate me, as well as Seely Castle, and what used to stand was a house whose owner wanted to build a stairway to Heaven (but I think it was torn down) also around that area. My belief in ghosts has waned over the years, which is disappointing, but Helen's Bridge continues to be the beacon to the question, "What if?"

We used to go here almost every Halloween night, usually was to smoke up on the bridge or make out with our sweethearts lol but now we're old so we bring the kids up during the daytime to spook them a little bit. Here and Craggy Prison, lol good times.

@@EJCExploration true story I never really experienced a haunting until Helen’s bridge so I didn’t know if to believe but after the bridge it’s insane you can also hear footsteps running towards you constantly but the footsteps never make it to you and see real fast figures speed by but yeah go back at night like 3 times in a row and talk to them they will respond if you get dowsing rods or a spirit box and just refuse to leave and keep coming back and you will get scratched and it feels like somebody just dug their nail into you but nobody’s there we were under the bridge in my truck when my friend was attacked the most we got on top of the bridge was being touched

I eat lunch everyday at the bridge with my sp11. I'm a paranormal investigator from Georgia I've lived in Asheville 7 years now and can't find a group to investigate with unfortunately. I'm going to rent old south Pittsburgh hospital in TN next month so if you're interested let me know
