- Shannan Watts was a devoted mother to two little girls with another on the way, who once said of her husband Chris “I love this man more than words can say! He’s my Rock, my love, my biggest fan, supporter and my husband! I couldn’t have handpicked a better man to call my husband and father to our girls!”
Chris in turn appeared to be a devoted husband and father with videos of him teaching his daughters how to read and enjoying family holidays and outings.
So what went wrong and how did Shannan end up buried in a shallow grave near a property owned by Anadarko Petroleum, with their two little girls discovered nearby submerged in crude oil tanks.

That 100% was not his motivation. He decided he didn’t love Shannan and wanted his freedom and didn’t want to have to give her any of his resources in a divorce so they all had to die. Just typical selfish, narcissistic man.

He still has a good relationship with his parents. There’s a couple of interviews with his parents on RUclips, you should watch them it’s very strange. They don’t hide their hate for Shannan at all and barely talk about their late granddaughters; it’s all about Chris.

As a father of a little girl, the clip where he describes his last conversation with his daughter makes my stomach turn
How he blamed his wife for the murder knowing what he did makes my blood boil. I'll forever be haunted by how those little girls died and the oldest asking what happened to her sister as he killed her. I could never do that to my baby boy
He was given the "Reid Technique", wherein law enforcement suggests a lesser scenario in order to get him to admit ending his wife. Eventually, he gave a true account about doing it to all of them. This is a common law enforcement tactic, designed to get him to admit that he did kill her, whilst he later admitted to the whole truth.
Now he's got his new groupie blaming his old gf for the murders too. What a piece of work. And what messed up women for wanting to still be with him after knowing what he did.

This happened just 13 miles from me. It's a shock that I slept peacefully nearby while this evil was unfolding. I wish I could have saved those children.
His mistress knew full fcuking well he was married with children. Computer searches done by the police at the time revealed she'd essentially been cyber-stalking Shannane.
This man has it all. Nice house, beautiful wife, sweet children, wealth and the good fit. All that were just thrown away because of another woman.

He was 500,000 in the hole, bankrupt, because of shannan and all of her retarded spending. They were about to have another kid and shannan was literally driving him crazy with all her antics and social media bullshit. The only other way out was divorce and he knew she was going to take the kids and take him for all he was worth for the next 20 years, she even talked about doing that in text messages, so he killed them.
Minus the wealth if they were having money problems. 5 bedroom house definitely not cheap.

The mistress didn’t come forward until their co-worker told the police of the affair. She told Chris and her friend to delete their texts about Chris. So she got rid of evidence before going to the police. She has been caught in multiple lies to the police. I think she definitely knew more than she said. Plus her Dad was allowed in the interview and he isn’t police or an attorney. And he basically shut the interview down when he thought it was accusing Nicole of something.
The guy the police was lying and caught him in several lies. I think he just wanted fame.

I saw and heard some of the things she said. She had some part to play in all of this. I think she may have pushed him to kill the family.

There's quite a few videos on RUclips about the mistress. At the least, she knew what he was gonna do and helped him hide or conceal evidence. Worst case, she may have actively participated in the murders. According to a cellmate of Chris', he told him that he killed Shannon and his mistress killed the kids because he couldn't bring himself to do it. In her police interview you can see how much she hated and was jealous of Shannon, even after it was known that her and the kids were dead, she wouldn't refer to Shannon by name, just as "her" and "his wife". As soon as Chris found out she was being questioned he confessed and shut down the whole investigation. She absolutely knows more than she's told investigators.
I remember watching the crime documentary on this, still shocked me that he would so callously murder his family.
obviously killing them is horrible but what somehow makes it worse is he had to beat the dead bodies to pulverize the bones so they would fit in through the opening of oil tanker he stuffed them in. For me this crime was the one that make me a believer on the super natural. That’s weird as a late 30’s person who was skeptic of everything, however once that video comercial behind him show the 💀 in oil that’s when I was like Holly cow that’s a message from the other side.
All over another woman too. I’ve always felt it in my core that NK had more involvement in the murder than she let on to the police. I remember watching all of this for the first time when this broke out, I was a new mom and a freshman in college and just couldn’t comprehend how a ‘father’ could do this to his own family. I’m still so shocked about all of this. Little baby Nico would have been maybe 6 or 7 if Chris didn’t take shannan and the girls lives..

If his daughters were that important to him that the thought of losing custody would be considered a serious "threat" to him he would have been more concerned about his unborn child, and even if there was no attachment there then he definitely wouldn't have then proceeded to smother his two daughters in front of each other.
I'm also pretty sure that the video said there was evidence of or that he himself said he had been planning the murder/s for a week prior to execution. Him saying that she threatened to take the kids, along with him "confessing" to his Dad that his wife killed the girls, based on the timeline provided was before they finalized any charges. Given that, it would be a surprise to no one that lying about her threatening to take the kids or that she killed the kids was an attempt to deflect blame and try to get some kinda sympathy points from people ( I guess people like you given these comments of yours.)
I recall this case. It's the type of crime that stays with you forever. I will never understand how any parent can do this. As for the woman he was cheating with, I find it impossible to believe she didn't know he was married. I believe in Karma, and it comes for us all.
I've listened to this case before, and I can't imagine what Shannan’s family and friends are going through right now. I hope they're doing okay and I'm glad he's behind bars.

This horriffic crime was the first time I heard the designation _family annihilator._ I remember being disturbed that it happens often enough to be recognized as a pattern of behavior. I can't get through the recounting of this evil act without sobbing.
What a truly horrific crime! I was in shock at the brutality and pure inhumane treatment of his family in their murders. I am a father myself to a daughter and cannot imagine ever doing anything like that to my beautiful precious little girl. I was heartbroken by the grandmother's reaction to the murderer of her grandchildren. I hope everyone in this case will find some measure of peace accept him. I wish him a long and miserable life full of remorse and repentance for his misdeeds enough said.

At 40, I'm a single guy and am content living alone. However the idea of a wife and kids is nice and remains a dream. I've been close to marriage a couple of times, but I guess I just didn't do enough to make either relationship work. I still think what having a family might be like. This cretin never deserved any of the blessings in his life. He killed what many of us men would give anything to have.
And some of us women too. (41 and childless by circumstance)

You know what is one of the saddest parts about all of this? Shannon and her daughters could have been extremely better off with someone else. They could have been someone else's world!!

His mistress Nicole is as much to blame. She had something to do with Shannon's death. It is obvious from the various things she said in the police interrogations.

As always, another great video. I knew of the case, but not the details. I'm not a fan of knowing all the details as they're being revealed and I didn't want to make judgments before ALL the facts came out. But this was a great summary giving plenty of details about the case.
I've even seen paranormal clips of the police searching the house and hearing voices (voices that were recorded on their cameras), clips of seeing shadows of 2 girls in the house (also caught on their cameras) and other clips of people driving by and seeing shadows in the windows. The whole thing is sad and makes me angry that a father would do this to his children and wife.
This man had everything that so many don't have: charm, good looks, a great job and a lovely family. And he destroyed it all simply for sexual gratification. Not only stupid and selfish, but downright evil.
The worst thing is how his own family still defends him and even acts as if those horrific murders were "justified".
His parents probably excused his selfishness and evil behavior his whole life, just like they are now. The whole family is bad.

This is kind of a stupid parallel, but there’s that one scene in ‘Kill Bill’ where Uma Therman is fighting Lucy Lu in the bedroom, like all hell, but then they suddenly stop, and stare each other down, and one of them says something about the fact that, because she’s pregnant and carrying a baby, she’s “ *the most dangerous woman in the world right now* “ It always gave me the chills, cuz I’m not even kidding.. I took motherhood that seriously, and adored and protected my kids like a wild savage animal! My mind just cannot comprehend what it must have taken for Chris to do this to his little girls. I can’t help but think of Shanann laying in the dirt in her bra and panties and tshirt while Chris is choking and dumping her little girls into those tanks. Till my dying day, I will always believe that NK helped Chris kill Shanann that night. No way did she lay there and just let it happen. No damn way.

This mindset is dumb. You work on the speculation that there is some sort of punishment awaiting him after death. As far as Im concerned, theres nothing. As in his punishment ends the moment he dies. Do you realize just how torturous a life sentence is? Especially considering this guy likely gets a lot of solitsry confinement due to a risk of other inmates going after him. He will never know a moment of peace again, his mental integrity will degrade into goop due to a life of repetition and no socialization. That is far worse than death. Even if there is punishment after death, guess what? He will eventually keel over and die on his own to meet that. Meaning why not get a little Punishment on our own before he leaves.

When I was about 20, I had to go to Technical college to do Engineering as part of my apprenticeship, about 1989 time.
I was at collage with a guy called Phil, he seemed ok and the group got on with him.
Soon after I qualified as an engineer and Tec collage was over.
About the year 20000 time I saw in the local paper, that a guy had killed his Wife , 2 Children and the pet dog.
I was shocked to see a photo of the Guy, Phil Austin as the Murderer, it was the same person I was at Technical college.
I wouldn't believe that if I was told at the time I was at Collage, that he would kill his family, didn't seem to be a bad person.
It was in all the Papers at the time, it shows you don't really know what people are really like.
I seriously can't imagine doing something like that to my family. I can understand killing someone to _protect_ your family. But I'll never understand the people who are so selfish that they decide that the best course of action is to murder their family. Every time I hear or read about a case like this I get all kinds of pissed off.

I remember seeing the Netflix documentary in school a few years ago and I was shocked. They seemed like the perfect family. They say that people online aren’t always how they are in real life, which is totally true, especially with Chris Watts.
Compartmentalization. It's what enables ppl to do horrific things like this and maintain their composure, including cheating on their spouse.

I’ve heard this case before, and it is a very sad and tragic one. How could a loving family man go from loving his wife and kids to doing unspeakable things to them? Truly shocking and sad.

If there was evidence there wasn't enough of it to prove anything tangible. I can't see Chris Watts not telling on her. The dude just killed his family so telling on a girlfriend would have been easy.
@@adriantheabstract There may not be enough solid evidence to prove she was involved, but there’s also a lot of circumstantial evidence to prove she knew a lot more than she was letting on, and her family has friends in pretty high places. As far as Chris not snitching on her, I really think he’d keep his mouth shut to protect her- the dude was weirdly obsessed with her and, last I knew, still wrote to her (or tried to, at least). I mean, he killed his pregnant wife and two babies for her. I think to say he holds her up on a pedestal is an understatement.
If this case wasnt so huge, maybe the continual mispronunciation of the victims' names wouldn't bother me so much, but it's like you've never heard of this family. Knowing their names really is the least you can do if you're going to make a video about them.

Chris is beyond evil and we all know that, but he must not have fallen far from the tree. I keep seeing stories of grandmothers deliberately harming or murdering their grandchildren with allergies. Just recently there was the story of the demon grandma from hell who didnt believe coconut allergies are real and put tons of coconut oil in the toddlers hair. When the girl broke out in a rash, evil grandma gave her a ton of Benadryl, added more coconut, and forced her to go to bed. She did not wake up. Then demon grandma wants to play victim like something happened to *HER* and not that she horrifically murdered the baby and took her from her loving parents. Chris Watts and his mom both should roast in piss.

This is the first video I’ve ever watched start to finish on this particular case. It’s just too heartwrenching and literally makes me want to expel my stomach contents. Shannan was innocent. He couldn’t just stop with killing her, he killed his unborn child as well as his two daughters for a f-girl. Not that there’s ever any logic that could excuse what he did, but he literally killed his children for another woman?! He’s shit and deserves the death penalty. Not that that’s even fair in comparison to the pain he’s caused and the hell he brought upon shannans family as well as his own. They deserved to grow with these girls/shannan. Shannan deserved to live, and those kids were only babies. This dude deserves a lifetime of torture. How can he even call himself a man? He’s a monster
The letter she wrote to him broke my heart she's poured her heart out to him in every way she evidently wanted to make it work she literally loved this man and was willing to do whatever she needed to make it work and he still didn't want to honor his vows he wanted to continue doing what he was doing. He was too wrapped up in his messy affair he created. So sad some people aren't dedicated enough to give their MARRIAGE a chance vows and family meant nothing to this man SEX and LUST were clearly more important.
I keep coming back to this case. Very disturbing and upsetting to see what chris did to his loved ones. It might sound weird but therre is alot paranormal instances to after the murders.
