I've been a life member of Handyman Club of America since the early 90's. Around that same time I bought the woodworking series by Time Life Books. As a retired Electronics Technician I finally get back to the Craft.
My garage is filling up with boxes of KREG labels, half the space under the bench. They're all new and unopened except I had to look at the fence, and spin the screw selection wheel, so I could get the right screws. Next is calculating board feet for the kitchen. And WATCHING all of the KREG videos. I know a lot about many things but I don't know about pocket holes. Keep it up. My brain is hungry and knowledge is it's food.
We hope you can help you renew your passion for the craft! Time to open up those boxes and start playing around with the tools. Find a project that intrigues you and start building, or just play with some scrap lumber to practice techniques.
Nice video. Thanks. I liked how it is broken down start to finish so us beginners are not too overwhelmed. One foot in front of the other!
I. too, like to put one foot in front of the other--though on video I sometimes put one foot right in my mouth!. Just break the project down into manageable steps, and try to not get in a hurry. You CAN do it!
Your teaching style is wonderful! I would like to give this one a try! Thank you!
Well done! I bought a pocket hole jig with one project in mind. Now I have another project and some knowledge on how to do the first project better. Thank you. These tutorials are practical and fun. The pacing works well for me. I appreciate the “Made in USA” that Kreg values.
i like how you went over wood type/selection. Many of us getting started dont know the difference. Thank you...
Wood choice is a big factor in how the final project will look, and in the building experience. I'm glad you found it helpful!
thank you sir
Christmas is coming up. I sure would like one of those Kreg right angle clamps 😉
Looks like another great project by Kreg! Also...looks like I have a weekend project. Thanks!
Thank you for the opportunity to see how pocket holes work.
Another awesome video from Kreg Tools, great project.
What would have been even better is, showing how the Adaptive Cutting System works for milling the lumber.
Great looking project, well explained....next step.....Lets Do this!
I love it great job
I wish I had a partner who loves this kind of work. I love to renovate and make things but my boyfriend literally will watch TV and let the house and property fall into disrepair unless I nag him to help me on various projects needing to be done. It's depressing and I always feel like I'm pulling a freight train by myself. This is what happens when you don't make good decisions and end up with an incompatible partner in life. My mother has the opposite priorities in her life and had a husband who was skilled in building, renovating carpentry etc and always was working on different projects and renovations around the house. She didn't appreciate that whatsoever and preferred to spend her time watching TV,drinking or creating drama.
Great video, love pocket hole projects, very helpful
Would have been nice to demonstrate the use of the Kreg pre manufactured plugs to eliminate the visible pocket holes entirely the novices who may appreciate this video most likely do not even know that option exist out there. Otherwise a good slow paced tutorial with clear illustration/explanation step by step
Nice bench and simple. If you use plywood how do you figure out what type of screw to use?
Coarse-thread screws are recommended for use with softwoods - as well as for sheet goods such as plywood and MDF - that are soft and not very dense. Coarse screws have deep, aggressive threads that bite into those soft fibers to ensure solid holding power.
Pine | Cedar | Fir | Spruce | Basswood | Butternut | Aspen | Plywood | Particle Board | MDF | Melamine

Hey Old Man. Saw a couple of the videos you have done for Kreg. You and I both know that the job would get done without Kreg Tools, but they sure do make it easier and quicker with a friendly price tag. I personally own a pocket jig, and a few others by Kreg. The tablesaw mitre gauge with fence is hard to beat at any price! Lean manufacturing in my garage ; )
Maybe, using Kreg wood plugs would have filled pocket holes to provide a better finished look.
On a painted base, like this one, I wanted to show how you can disguise the pocket holes without plugs. Plugs are a great option, though. Just glue them in and sand them flush. With a painted project, you can even use wood filler in place of plugs. It usually takes two applications since the filler will shrink some as it dries. Fill the hole, let i dry, then "top it off" with a bit more filler and sand it smooth.
Hi I would like to know where to buy the keg
You can purchase our products at kregtool.com.
I should have built this one instead!
What color code is that paint? The blue one that looks like the Kreg Logo Background.
It is very similar! Blue #004C97
I figure you guys at Kreg would love the history around the Kreg type screw design. ruclips.net/video/R-mDqKtivuI/видео.html The History Guy has done a good job of the history of the screw you use.
Cool! Thanks for sharing.
Good afternoon Sir. We think you have a very interesting channel! Would you mind to share your business email with us? Thank you and have a nice day!
