freeze dried fruit are great, and easily can be turned into a powder, go wild with ideas from there. Sprinkle on things, add to spice mixes for sausages, for deserts, etc etc. I tihnk I'll buy or build a curing chamber first, but the more I see freeze drying, the more tempting it is. One of the best ways to keep the flavor of anything for a long time.
I love freeze dried strawberries, blueberries and peaches. I would like to see you test different varieties of the same fruits. Maybe you could do red, black and Rainier cherries, red and Ataulfo mangoes, Granny Smith, Red Delicious, Fuji and Honey Crisp apples, Thompson, Concord and Muscat table grapes, or Korean, Bartlett, D'Anjou and Bosc pears.
I should never buy a freeze dryer. Just finished 100g of freeze dried raspberries in one sitting 😑 so addictive! And I’m someone who doesn’t get addicted easily!
@@hadoodzzz9222 I own 2 machines, one is a stay fresh freeze dryer ( tinyurl.com/2fhfb3uz ) and the other is a harvest right freeze dryer ( tinyurl.com/59ujbnp6 ). I prefer the stay fresh freeze dryer.
Yeah, basically. The food gets down to -20f and then little plates start to warm up and cool down while the food is still frozen. This causes the moisture to become a vapor and the end result is a food with no moisture, a very long shelf life. Great for long term storage. Here's a link to the machines: tinyurl.com/59ujbnp6
Bonjour, j'ai remarqué que vous n'avez pas fait de vidéo sur le Smoked Meat de Montréal. Vous allez adorer c'est certain ! Hello from Québec, can you try a Montréal Smoked Meat ?
My mind is going a zillion miles an hour - I’d love oranges, lemons, limes, mandarins as an immediate start - wonder how watermelon would go. A comment earlier said banana works well. But then what about veg - onion, carrot, potato, sweet potato, zucchini and so on Can’t wait to see more on this subject A few weeks back my wife was gifted a box of different packs of freeze dried mostly berries, and even an icecream on a stick - in australia the chocolate paddle pop is well known. I don’t know the equivalent elsewhere. We haven’t tried it yet, but might have to soon
Im thinking of investing in one of these, packaging fruit mixes and then selling them to gastations and snack shops around the county. Does anyone have any experience with this machine and the different fruits or candies? Id like to learn as much as I can before making a 5 thousand dollar investment on the machine, packaging and advertising.
You should check out the video I published today. I am reviewing a different brand and in my opinion it's a much safer buy. Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/j0p4Z9d2VyY/видео.html This unit is ok and it's a Hit and Miss when it comes to reliability. The real issue is the customer service. It is a nightmare to deal with. A quick google search of other's experience with this Freeze Dryer will reveal some shocking horror stories. I have one of my own as this unit stopped working 4 months after I got it. Here's a video I made regarding that situation if you want to see: ruclips.net/video/JVlbhdsgn8k/видео.html
Well i mean the fruits are decent (I tried freaze dried fruit a couple od years back..) but it just seems by now that you're trying to justify the purches of an expensive freaze drier... There are a few things to consider when making a purchase of this size. 1. Does it do what I want it to do? 2. Can I use it for anything else? The first question satisfies the "need to purchase" and the second creates added "value". As a first time freeze dryer owner you get to experience the journey with me. As cool as freeze drying candy is, it's my least favorite thing about this unit and the same with fruit. I love having freeze dried fruit on hand not only for snacking and recipes but for long term storage. The real beauty and power of this machine I have yet to reveal. That's coming soon. BTW-Everything I've produced so far with this freeze dryer I've sold to locals and or shops (for resale). I've only had my unit for 8 months and it's just about paid for itself. In today's economy, I think it's super important to be able to justify your purchase. 😉 FWIW

Very nice!! Keep it whole or turn it into a powder?
@@2guysandacooler I turn my tomatoes in the powder and use it to help thicken, soups and stews

How about directly putting it in the oven?
you could but the end result will be very different. It will be almost mushy
I am wondering how you estimate the time and temp when entering a custom program?
Hi. I want to do it as a project.need help concerning material and anything else could help . Thank you
Great ideas! Cape gooseberrys remind me of a sweet and sour lemon flavored cherry tomato. How about mango, papaya, banana, durian, and dragon fruit.Peace!

How long can you keep freeze dried fruits
25+ years if stored correctly

What is devise name ?
Try adding the freeze dried berries to pemmican
Cape gooseberries are a relative of the tomatillo. I've grown both.
A summer tip. Frozen grapes don't freeze, so one can keep them in the freezer and eat them like mochi. They get hard and chewy.
yeah use bacon ham pork as fruit plant or vegetables plant fertilizer
