I'm Madridista and I know how important is for european team to win the UEFA champions league, but the World Cup is just the top of everything, you will see the best of the best of the world into that tournament as well as champions but with the plus than is more passional, look Argentina after winning the world cup, a lot of people cried on streets of Buenos Aires.
Champions League is definitely better quality than a World Cup but the World Cup easily has more emotions and passion which makes it the best tournament
That's relatively a DUMB reason to think it's a better tournament!! The performance and quality of the game played by the types of players you see in the pitch is ALL what TRULY matters!!
@@sab-vl4jg Tournaments like the World Cup, European Championship and Copa America are in my opinion better because they are held every few years, not every year like the Champions League. Players have fewer chances to win something with their national teams, the tournaments are played within a month and the teams consist of players of the same nationality so teams cannot buy or sign the players they would like. They have to work with what they got. Also these tournaments put club rivalries aside for a few weeks. Players from Real Madrid play in the same team as players from Barcelona, players from Bayern Munich play with some from Dortmund etc. I don't think the quality of the matches is much lower than in the Champions League. The quality is negatively affected by constantly increasing the numbers of participants though.

The reason americans care more about club sports is because all of the sports that we have are dominated by north american players which make international competitions meaningless hockey baseball american football and basketball can't have compelling international tournaments because the same 2-3 countries win every time however we have far more rules governing fare play in club sports meaning that unlike club football different teams win every time. Especially recently there are no teams like madrid or man city that are almost guaranteed to win before the season even starts
