- Finally decided to explain why I talk down on Kenpo Karate so much when Kenpo is the art in which I received my Black Belt in.
Playlist and Subscribing are in your future.
Yes, it looks like I am driving a Bicycle or Motorcycle in the thumbnail I thought it was cool.
If something sucks it’s mainly because of the user
not always depends on what it is we are talking about.
Please stop. The old saying "it's not the martial art it's the martial artist, doesn't hold water and it's been proven untrue over and over.
No some styles are dated and do not work for all situations. Like he said pressure test your claim.
@@victortorres7851 Most are outdated I agree. I do not train anymore got Health issues. but enjoy making these videos.
@@nappyheaded nope I got lots more to talk about see ya in the next video.
I did Kenpo for about 7 years (Nick Cerio lineage) and definitely learned some useful stuff, but I also have a twin brother and a younger brother, and we fought all.the.time. Been in a few fights in my youth and one as an adult. Boxed a bit in college. I now do BJJ, training for 3.5 years (blue belt) and I am so much better at fighting for it. If I was to fight myself 3 years ago... that guy I would beat badly in 20 seconds. I am no champion, I am not some tough guy. What I can say, is that when I roll with new people, even big dudes, they are very easy to control and submit. My mentality has grown, and I now have mental paths to go down. I have been able to pressure test sequences that get me where I want to go. I do gi and nogi, and I still hit the bag a lot.
Nick Cerio is just bad Martial artist. its all choreographed so glad you decided to go with BJJ.
I had a black belt in American Kenpo. It didn't do squat when i was working on the doors. But none of those fancy techniques will work on the street. At close range where street fights occur (not sparring range). 'Action will always beat reaction' at that close distance instructors like, Geoff Thompson & Peter Consterdine have been saying this since the 90s.
love the comment and agree 100%.
@@CountryKarate Thanks again! But you hit the magic bell as soon as I heard the words 'pressure testing'. Because that will quickly sort out the wheat from the chaff. ;)
@@scepticskeptic3794 lol,
I trained TKD for 30 years. The moment I stepped onto the mats in a BJJ school, I knew I had a HUGE gap in my training. I still kick the heavy bag, but most of my time is spent doing grappling now.
huge difference huh.
@@tusanity lol TKD is not grappling or wresting heavy its all about the kicks with TKD.
I agree if you think you can fight, you got to look at the whole package, right we owe it to ourselves to be as well rounded however we can. I've learned some things on you tube that are useful. Chuck Norris was put on the ground, by a jujitsu man.
Yep. Now he's a BJJ black belt 3rd degree (maybe higher by now)
Looking at the way you move; if your received a black belt in Kenpo indeed your Kenpo sucks
I am showing how Kenpo people do it online duh. and its been 20 years and more since I trained in Kenpo doing these videos for my health.
UFC's ruleset doesn't favor the eastern martial arts well
I've practiced traditional martial arts like judo and tomiki aikido for years and they work fine in my bjj class.
If your training Traditional martial arts with BJJ then you're not training good BJJ like the Gracies BJJ...
@@CountryKarate all bjj including gracie bjj stand up grappling is a joke. It's horrible. Do you honestly not understand this? Plenty of people learn judo and bjj at the same time they compliment each other. Even people on the high school wrestling team learn bjj. Are you saying cross training is pointless?
@@nappyheaded Like I said Military is trained to kill all other forms of martial arts does not train to kill they train to Tap. I will be making a video on this matter soon.
@@CountryKarate I think you're wrong about this but I'll wait till you make your new video before I criticize you.
@@nappyheaded lol that made me laugh I appreciate that got any topics you want me to address.
The fancy stuff only works on drunks and guys that cant fight, an experienced street fighter will lamp most traditional martial artists easy because they dont spar enough. If you arent training real world scenarios in a competitive environment you are wasting your time.
True facts there.
ALL styles have weaknesses, even BJJ. its up to the practitioner to recognise those weaknesses and address them.
Why would I find myself in a scenario where I am fighting against a BJJ practitioner? does this person intend to do me harm through no fault of my own? that would say A LOT about the training that person received and their morals. did I not train in situational awareness?
How far are you willing to go with realism in your training? what is enough? what is too much? there are flaws in approaches to realism in training
yes pressure testing is important? but again to what extent do you want to go with pressure testing?
Comment section giving me great ideas for future videos, thanks. great comment.
Okay true you will be taken to the ground that's the only part I agree with now mixed martial arts was built on traditional martial arts mma is a sport traditional martial arts is a life style there are no ref in the streets no rules Noone to stop the fight Bruce lee said take what works leave what don't techniques teach principles as artist we learn to adapt that to modern times saying something doesn't work is because you are not understanding principles of what your doing I suggest you study fighting ranges such as kick punch range knee elbow range then close combative range to become a well rounded martial artist pick a system that's buildable then add to your tool box. Sincerely Sensi Christopher Moore. 1 degree Isshin ryu 1 degree Kodokan judo Niko ryu ju jitsu and 10 year American kenpo practioner.
I know all about range and distance. no need to study anything but people are waking up and realize what I am saying is correct. Thanks for the comment, have you Subscribed?
Lol not anothe one
I can talk about Martial arts all day every day. so yeah, there will be more to come. got any topics you want me to cover.
The rules of MMA are to facilitate grappling. No elbows from mount ect. Which is what makes bjj not work. Stick your fingers in his eyes and he lets go.
Also BJJ doesn't work in real life with more than one opponent take one guy to the ground while the other guy stomps your brains in. 🤷
Find one video of a real world confrontation where BJJ guy takes on more than one person I dare you
I tell people this all the time BJJ against a Navy Seal or hand to hand combat Marine the Marine and the Seal will win every time they train to kill the UFC MMA fighters train to Tap. huge difference.
Don't get me wrong, police need BJJ. It's the ability to control a suspect with minimal damage case may be. Joint locks ect. But in a bar situation, people are rarely alone. There is rarely only one.
How do you take on a group ect. Run usually lol. But.. you get my drift.
Kemp has some things of value
@ericcaledonai9700 didn't know that thanks for the info.
@ericcaledonai9700 I got this 1 that I always say Military like Marines and Navy Seals are trained to kill Karate guys are trained to Tap not the same animal. my instructor was a Marine.
@@USARMY1682 I agree that BJJ or even wrestling is good for the police but the choreographed techniques of Kenpo Karate does not work against someone like a good BJJ guy UFC fighter or even someone who spent a few years in the Military who have been trained to kill, UFC trained to tap out Military trained to kill not the same animal.
