  • As the exploration of the Roman Villa at Althorp continues, the archaeologists are learning more about those who once lived there.
The Roman artefacts that Adey has discovered; the underfloor heating that Dr. Siân Thomas has identified; the chunks of imported wine vessels that Dr Cat Jarman has catalogued - all are important clues as to how the Romans lived at Althorp, more than 1,600 years ago.
Meanwhile, Charles makes a discovery that helps Professor Mark Horton to understand why so much of this once massive villa is missing.

Fascinating. Will there be a book/report on the archaeology of the villa published at some stage?

Thank you Earl and Countess Spencer, your videos are always wonderful and I enjoy them immensely.
Please allow me to thank you for attending the Invictus Games Thanksgiving service at St. Paul's with Prince Harry, with your sister, daughter and nephew. As Americans we have supported both Princes as well as your darling sister. We were heartbroken to think HRH would attend alone. Again, thank you for sharing your home with us and thanks for all you do as an uncle and patriarch. You are a real gentleman. We appreciate you and yours.

Awesome ! Amazing history there at Althorp, the ancestral home of the Spencers. What a shame that the earl's nephew doesn't value his English heritage, instead throwing it off for the plastic world of of Hollywood.

@@Lucysmom26I agree. I lost a huge degree of respect for Spencer when I saw that. Enabling bad behaviour - not a good look.

Funny, this video is about Spencer’s home and what they find, but once again someone is putting Harry down. How pathetic

When was it first known that a Roman villa was located here?
