This speaker looks beautiful. It's the classic B&O design. It's looks like something that might be put into an apartment as a piece of art, but it's actually a high-end and hightech speaker. I love that you're reviewing B&O products. They deserve way more recognition worldwide than they're getting. It's only because they're not from the US, but a much smaller country (Denmark) that it's tougher for them to hit the international markets.
Erin Lawrence Yeah I have, I actually went to their store just to see/hear them. They're an amazing idea. A high-end speaker system that looks like decoration and doesn't really take up much space. And you can continously expand upon it! They're really expensive tho, but then again they probably took quite some investment to develop since they aren't run of the mill speakers. Did you ever get a chance to review them? I would love to see that!
+CrippledJoin OMG. You're right. Colour me educated! I'm surprised that Best Buy just sent me one now; I usually only get brand new releases so I never question it. Wonder if the sales are lagging and they need to get the word out?
Good video. I've had this awesome speaker since 2014 (MK I) and still enjoy them. Putting on the cover is easy. I use two rectangular pieces of cardboard paper to lock one side of the cover in place while I mount the cover on the opposite side. I don't take off the cover often to begin with but when I do want to put them on, I'm usually done in less than 20 seconds:)
Good review. Looks ok probably meant for a large house with larger rooms. I prefer something compact like harmon kardon onyx models. Tell you what this speaker definitely has enough power.
Did you have a chance to listen with it placed in the middle of a room? I think placement would be really interesting with this one. Soundstage might be pretty different!
I got this because I wanted something different but it needed to justify its price tag. To put it simply: NOPE!! It DID sound good and it cranked up loud without distorting but it wasn’t a good enough sound to warrant its equally massive price. The overall look was kinda neat and I thought it would grow on me. It didn’t. My dog kept on looking at me to throw it to him. That said B&O makes some good products and this speaker is no different. IMO the asking price just doesn’t equal a good buy. If I wanted to overpay for something I’d just go out and buy a BOSE product.........which is exactly what I did (SD-10 in 2014) after returning this monstrosity of a speaker.
I built my own, wont be more custom build than that. Also bought a set of XEO2, cheaper and in pairs and excellent sound. Easy to find a spot to them since they are fairly small. And they are multiroom if need be.
Can you review the brand new bowers & wilkins zeppelin? They totally updated and completely upgraded this speaker using technology from their reference line.
@@apieceofdirt4681 it's a design brand. Just like Gucci, Ferrari, expensive brands. You rarely get anything worth you money. You pay for the brand and design mostly.
Please don't portray these as innovative in design. Lots of companies have made weird looking speakers over many decades. Back in the 60s Clairtone made a stereo unit that featured speakers that were large "suspended" spheres which came in black or silver.
... or, for 3000 dollars you can buy powered speakers and a sub and a receiver with Bluetooth, it'll take up significantly more room, but you'll also feel like you spent 3000 dollars worth. And it'll sound just as good, you don't have special ears or magical hearing, it's just confirmation bias.
I bought one of these devices and it stopped working completely in less than 3 years. It had no more than 200 hours of use. The company B&O wanted to charge me half of what I paid for it to repair it, so I threw it away. I ended up buying a Boss, which has lasted me 6 times longer and cost me 10 times less. These devices are a well-orchestrated scheme. They're pretty but expensive with questionable quality.Everyone talks about the design, and that's what sells. Only because of that. The quality is terrible, both in terms of sound and the materials used. You will never see one of these devices last more than 5 years.
I bought one of these - my opinion.. the speaker is mediocre for that price point... sound and quality of construction. Why would they not have a magnetic framed cover ???? Whoever designed and everyone that signed off on this speaker should be fired. Plus..... its ugly as fuck and who the hell would hang this piece of shit on their wall? It looks like there should be a trail of reeses pieces leading up to it and a speak and spell sitting underneath it. I sent it back the same week.
"then head over to the phones wi-fi settings"... goes to bluetooth settings instead...
it certainly has a presence ..
Perhaps the most concise and useful review I've seen. Thank you.
Wow, thanks!

They do make some pretty cool stuff. Have you seen their wall tiles speakers? Amazing.

They are SO EXPENSIVE, yes, but this is totally my jam, decor-wise. Dream world stuff.

I have A Marshall woburn speaker...it’s sounds great but this B&o sounds really loud....I love it...greetings from Spain 🇪🇸
Hola Sergio! Gracias por mirar este video!
Legs in oak, maple or walnut and wall bracket can be bought as an accessory
True. Which would you go with? And would you get a custom cover?
Covers by Kvadrat
Light grey, Dark grey,
Dark rose and Dusty blue
Great review, you cover every detail and explain function and performance so well.
Much appreciated!
This is a nice channel. I love the efficient reporting. Good work EL!
Thank you!
HA, i was TOTALLY expecting an explitive ridden outtake reel at the end in regards to the flimsy speaker cover LOL
Hahaha. There were a few expletives used!!
Nice intro at start of the video 👍🏼
Thanks!
If one spend A$3500 on speakers , how much would he or she spend on stereo system?
Just released? What? It's been out since like 2013

There is a .MK I and MK II, i think the MKII came out in the time frame you referred to.
Erin Lawrence you get it for free?
Hi Mark, I didn't. it's a two week loan from the blog at Best Buy.
CrippledJoin that’s true these are in 2013 m5
The price is more out of this world than the device....
Yes!

love the way you review a product. I wish you could review our Home Technology Company.
Thank you!

It looks like the "WOK" my mum uses to make fry rice .
lol
@Anthony W. You're comment made my day
The outtakes at the end are worth waiting for!
YAY! I always wonder how many people make it that far!! Thanks Jim!

Unfortunately not.. I kind of had to keep it off to the side for space reasons.
@@ErinLawrenceTV Understandable, thank you.
1:34 doesn't she mean "Bluetooth Settings"
Do you work in the news media? You have a very "newsy" presentation style...very professional.
I used to be a news reporter!

This is great feedback. I'm sure it'll help a lot of people.
SVS, Polk, Magnat, Definitive Technology and Klipsch easily come to mind.

Welcome!

Nice
I had a B&O turntable in the 1970’s. It was in the NY museum of art.
Wow!
Can the A9 hang on the wall ?
I can't remember... I no longer have it. I don't think so?
Yes it can with a special B&O bracket
The sound?
I prefer my sky dish outside the house
🤣🤣🤣🤣
1,200 for a bluetooth speaker??
0:56 that's what HE said

OMG! The sound is crystal clear. This is an iconic speaker from a company known for it's iconic speakers
This is an expensive but excellent sound. I have this...
Jaffrey Ali Cool. I had one but I took it back after around 2 weeks. Sounds really good but IMO doesn’t warrant its price tag.

Can I connect to a TV and watch a football match ?
Have you reviewed beo lab 5 too?
No, I haven't. I'll have to look it up
I really like this speaker but I just cannot afford it.
XHANTI PETERSON It’s crazy expensive and although it’s a great speaker, it’s simply not worth what you pay for it.
apiece ofdirt so what will you recommend for speakers at this price ?
Dammm thing is huge
obviously marketed towards people with more dollars than sense.
How do the A9 compare with the Beosound edge ?
I haven't had the chance to try the Edge...maybe someone else here has?
A larger version of the Harman Kardon onyx studio
B&O had a design like that since the early 2000s.
Onyx Studio, also amazing speaker, which I have at an amazing price! Got to give the big brother A9 a try though and see what this thing can do!
You have amazing eyes. And great videos. How would this compare to The Devialet Gold Phantom?
Thank you so much for watching and commenting Jaydies! I've not had a chance to try the Phantom. I'd love to though.
Devialet all the way
Erin, are you a journalist or something?

Who got to keep the speaker?
and i hit subscribe just because of the bloopers. jk i did find the review helpful.

There is absolutely no Bluetooth speaker in the world that’s worth the price of this. Like why in the hell ?
How much does it cost
Harjap Singh $2800
Small and compact does not ever sound good in speakers. Tolerable, but not good.
Has anyone got an A9 that bellowed smoke?
Eeeek...
3K USD ???

At no point did she ever say this thing costs thousands of dollars
well it b&o
Whoo wants that big speaker when you have small portable and very loud speakers. My opinion is speaker is too big
The cover is almost impossible to place, It is really expensive and need 3 people for placing.
The speaker has a hook on the bottom, it takes 15sec to place the cover (1 person)
I'd rather watch you. Lol

Great feedback Jay. Yes, a magnetic speaker cover would be so much smarter!! (Speak and spell + reeses... LOL)
So you spent $3000 on a speaker which you think sounds 'mediocre' and looks 'ugly as fuck'. I call bullshit.
JBL best!!!!
Stupid looking thing !!! Looks like a satellite dish
🤣🤣😂
$$$$$
I don't know why I watching this ! the B&O junk overpriced crap
I heard this and was laughing. Not good and not worth the price. They used to make good stuff and they have been lacking.
