    My husband ended up at a kidney doctor because he became chronically dehydrated and was passing out. He doesn't exercise at all but is just out in the yard all the time. The kidney doctor told him to put a lot of salt with his water. So, it isn't just for exercisers. The doctor told my husband he sees it all the time. Also, my husband has high blood pressure.

    5 years is overkill, 12 months of consistency is the prerequisite

    After the short that you posted on electrolytes, I had a video that was suggested in RUclips where the woman said every glass of water you drink makes you lose electrolytes. She said you need to put electrolytes in every glass of water that you drink to replenish them. 😮 I clicked off her video so quick that I didn't even catch her name.

    If you have normal kidney function (GFR) you should be able to filter out the amount of electrolytes you would get from adding a powder to your water. 26 years RN. Enjoy your content as always.

    Informative and entertaining video as always! I’ve had the same thought about the fear one can have of going off weight loss medications: I found it tremendously valuable that I had made steady progress with improving my lifestyle and diet for 5 years before I started with medication as a further aid. Because I started with lifestyle interventions first I had the opportunity to experience how my appetite and cravings are impacted by eating enough food with lots of protein and vegetables, sleeping enough, dealing with mental health issues, etc. By the time I started the medication I knew that I’m not a raving Cookie Monster without it and I had the tools and knowledge that I could use during the period I’m using the drug and that I’ll continue using when I taper of and stop the drug. (Caveat: I was young and my health was still relative good when I started this project so I had the time to make slow and steady progress. I don’t have a history of eating disorders and I’ve had a relative stable situation with the rest of my life -> what worked for me won’t work for everybody and I don’t think anybody reading this is wrong if they approach weight loss in a different way 😊)

    The main thing for me is sleep quality.
    I have been taking creatine monohydrate regularly and I have noticed that I am almost never groggy in the morning.

    GLP-1 agonists have been on the market since 2005, I'd say that's pretty long term

    • @jordansyatt
      @jordansyatt  3 месяца назад +5

      It's really not *that* long. Not to mention, the GLP-1 agonists have changed and improved dramatically since 2005. So what people are using today is radically different from what people were using 20 years ago. In addition, relatively few people were using them back then compared to far more in the last ~5 years. We'll have way way way more data available to us within the next 50 years.

    We DO know the long term side effects of WL meds. The same exact medication has been around for over two decades.

    My creative question is because I’m a 46 year old woman. I’m consistent in all areas and have read it’s good for aging women since we lose muscle so quickly and that it can help with sleep- another problem in aging women. Thanks!

    There's already a Mass Tort lawsuit against the pharmaceutical companies over the side effects of weight loss injections. The lawsuit is still in the investigations stage I believe but the allegation is that the companies knew there was a significant risk of users experiencing stomach paralysis from the medication. This risk is very likely worth taking for people with serious health concerns, but I believe the case being made that the companies knew this risk and didn't disclose it well enough when they started pushing the drugs for weight loss will bear fruit...

      I wouldn't be surprised..
      I do remember hearing that there was less incidence of that with Mounjaro (vs Wegovy or Oz)

    Quite disappointed with a particular channel very close to you, as the three hosts have been working with questionable products (electrolyte products for all, for instance), and been jumping on some trendy pseudo-science bandwagons of late. Forever kudos to Jordan for always being true to his morals, no matter the shitstorm this space becomes.
    *One particular claim that really got me heated AF was "If you eat majority whole foods, you are too low in sodium". Like, wtf kind of wildly inappropriate and unsafe claim is that?!*

      Strongly agree. Like it might be true for some people (i.e. folks with POTS like me and athletes that are sweating A LOT) but generalizations to the overall public here are no beuno.

      @@natashaching7370 Exactly!! And we unfortunately live in a time of folks having zero personal accountability or doing one's own research, so they see these sleek, innovative looking products and just blindly jump to "Ooooh, I need this!". Ugh
