    The fender Startocaster is the most Magical guitar ever created I never really like them until you could get one with a flatter radius like a Gibson 12' or soo now the only Gibson I pickup is my 64 SG great job Thomas

    not scallop very well used.beautiful Vintage 1961 strat given to him by fender after winning best strat player of 2006. Ordered the triamp after hearing this guy live cant wait for it to arrive!

    The frets look to be scalloped but actually is just from playing the hell out of it. Check out some Philip Sayce, his 63' looks the same...with a lot less paint.

  • @spudgun05

    What he says about using these variations in tone is so true,using vol,tone and pickup selecter is a big range to play with,see thomas blugs I'll be there vid and see what he does with a delay and wah and his guitar controls really shows the guy is a master.

  • @ProTos666

    Best guitar I have ever heard...
    Amazing player

  • @uhohoverflow
    @uhohoverflow 16 лет назад

    No. When the neck is played this much the middle between two frets becomes polished, and the dirt stays at the frets. That gives it a 3D-Look.

    starts around $3200.00 and quickly goes up from there, the price of the amp he is playing goes for around $3800.00 and then add the effects and your going to pay around $4500.00 to $5000.00........but you can see why they get so much money for such a amp (you get what you pay for)

    @horrorfreakish i recomend that you buy a left handed strat, because if you get a right hand one and play it backwards, you will have a hard time playing the upper frets because of the way the guitar is built, the lower horn in your case would be in your way

    Thomas, if you read these - I'd like to be able to use my vol control like this, and I can 'clean it up' by dialing down just a tad, but beyond that I'm turning down my level that basically can't be heard (in a two guitar band). What kind of vol pot are you using or does that have anything to do with what you're doing. You're an inspiration to me btw, I study your stuff all the time... You've got it ALL, speed, texture, harmony, etc etc etc!

  • @jks2

    the neck is not scalloped. the guitar is an original 60's (i believe 63'strat) the only mod done is that the mid pickup is reverse wound.

    • @heavyrelic8506
      @heavyrelic8506 2 года назад

      It’s a 61.
      And besides the reverse middle pickup he put a dummy coils under the bridge pickup

    a guitar that wants you to play....

  • @yjmsrv
    @yjmsrv 13 лет назад +1

    @tw1488 I LOVE Thomas Blug, but "blows Malmsteen out of the water"???!!?!? I don't think so. Malmsteen plays with a ton of feel and legendary tone. They are just very different styles. Malmsteen also plays with terrific dynamics, again just a different style. People should appreciate both without taking anything away from the other. If you don't like Malmsteen, OK, but it's music, not a competition. Saying things like that just make you look immature.

  • @kurtlonde5892
    @kurtlonde5892 5 лет назад

    ..... when I hear it now... it s such a great guitar.... and all the high priced custom shop guitars are only cheap copies for beginners
    in comparison to this guitar......

  • @rjake61
    @rjake61 13 лет назад

    @jspartacus Nope. No idiot here. Been playing guitar longer than you've probably been alive. Look around on the web, and you'll find him doing more than just what you see here. Most all great guitarists can play any style. Take EJ for example. They just choose to showcase one or the other.

  • @rjake61
    @rjake61 13 лет назад

    There is a lot of fine musicians, guitarists on youtube. And a lot of good comments. But in order to MOVE ON creating music, try to restrain yourself NOT to make any competition on the matter. The term "He is better than xxx" is nonsense. If your favorite style of music is played, the person who plays it will suddently become a thing to defend. It doesnt say anything about who he is better. So lets skip the ranging comments, and stick to the actual impression on the artist. Thanks.

    • @MrSpeedyrocks
      @MrSpeedyrocks 9 лет назад

      (y) Yeah, the pickups are handwired by Andreas Kloppmann = sooo fkn fantastic! This guy is a real genius! I have the Kloppmann Thomas Blug set in my white strat (Warmoth body and a Fender Am.Std. maple neck) with the "Blug Bukka-Switch" (made in the second tone poti, so i can switch the dummy coil from 0 to 10 together with the neck or the bridge pu. Great thing for harder crunch and high gain lead sounds!) I love it! :)

      @whynottalklikeapirat 9 лет назад

      MrSpeedyrocks That's the one yeah. What's it like as a fender style pup - is it fat and warm or more sort of beefy-brittle if you get me?
