I'd have said that it was a Norwegian accent. As usual, a refreshingly clear English too, as most Western and Northern Europeans have. I was in Copenhagen recently and asked if I was Swedish after I had spoken to American tourists in English. Had to let them down, telling them that I only spoke English on Wednesdays. It took the fools a couple of minutes to realise that it was a Wednesday.

King Harold is a great great grandson of Victoria His grandmother Queen Maud loved Her handsome Haakon and Norway.. As did Margaret of Connaught who married Gustave of Sweden. They are all less pomp and circumstance than. British Royalty. Because of the Empire! .. Most likely . When William becomes King I hope there will not be an anointed coronation . But a simplified ceremony like in Protestant . Scandinavia. There is no rule by divine right .And should not be seen as such.
Coronation is a part of Great British Royalty and nobody can deny it even Prince William knows it, because he was raised to be the King of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and King of all the Commonwealth realms.
You really need to work on your grammar. That paragraph was barely legible, with the full stops being all over the place. The low quality of some RUclips comments really makes one question how these people made it through school at all.
The fact that Scandinavia are protestant is obviously a significant factor in why we don't have coronations anymore. The ceremony sort of loose its whole meaning when the bishop who crowns the king actually were appointed by the king in the first place. But there might be another aspect in the picture here as well. In Britain christianity is older than the monarchy. The kings have always been crowned, and they have always justified their power through God. In Scandinavia it is the other way around. The monarchy is older than christianity. Our earliest kings were not crowned, and throughtout the middle ages the kings' power was not formally justified through God, but rather through the people. The kings had to be "elected" (or atleast approved) by regional assemblies.
William and Ingrid Alexandra are fourth cousins, so they are now rather distant "family". King Harald V's speech is very similar to the one he gave on the occasion of Charles and Camilla's official visit to Norway. He should be more creative.
HRH was called Catherine and not Kate at home. Her husband refers to her as Catherine. She is said not to like "Kate". What is worse is when people insist on calling her "Kate Middleton"
Shes a lazy royal, thats for sure. People want her and Wills to be the next monarchs but they will beLouis XVI and Marie Antoinette all over, just less glamorous. They will try too hard to be relateable and will just do what they like, when they like and skirt engagements all the time. If she hes a headache she wont wear a tiara to the state opening...hopefully she will wear the George IV Diadem but she wont and we already know that. They both irk me. He as much as her. They are dreadfully boring also. Younger royals can be regal and interesting ala Mary of Denmark and...every other princess in europe. Kate is yawnworthy andhonestly she looks much older than Meghan even though shes younger... I dont think the King of Norrway meant anything behind calling her Kate other than trying to be informal...she went by Kate until her marriage so one would surmise thats what she goes by behind the scenes. Or does William really call her Catherine now...please.
The whole Norwegian royal family is wonderful. They’re all humble, fun, and have a great sense of humor. In fact, the crown Prince was a DJ.
Do u know them in person ?
I love the country who are shaped by climate
I think there is big miracle when a country attract u by the things u hate the most cold and god know how much i resisted
I loved this country because of a writer
A bit stupid
King Harald is a real gentleman and a scholar.
Wonderful speech of friendship!
what a fine man...
He's the greatest king we've ever had in Norway
Long live Kong Harald V.
Some, most of the European royals have British accent. How refreshing that the Norwegian king has an American accent 🤗
he spent the WW2 years in the US - he was at FDR's inauguration
He doesn't sound particularly American to me, and I am American.
That’s not an American accent.

That is an English accent, clearly.
Beautiful speech
His Majesty is too cute!
Great speech!
God bless the king our nation and his ally!
It would have been good to hear the reply.

William and Kate are FAF

Being anointed does not imply divine right. It signifies that majesty descends from God.
Coronation is a part of Great British Royalty and nobody can deny it even Prince William knows it, because he was raised to be the King of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and King of all the Commonwealth realms.

The uk is the most monarchy monarchy it should have a coronation

BucyKalman but The Queen of UK and The King of Norway were second cousins?
Rather the speech preparer should have been more creative.
Consider it an honour that he gives his speech in English . Don't criticise.
Why don't you write a draft in Norwegian and send it to him ?
They are family and they are more closely related than that. Do your research!
Calling HR The Duchess of Cambridge "Kate" was a bit of a fauz pas by King Harold.
No, the King calling her Kate confirms what she has said about liking being called like that. They’re family, so no faux pas ;)
HRH was called Catherine and not Kate at home. Her husband refers to her as Catherine. She is said not to like "Kate". What is worse is when people insist on calling her "Kate Middleton"
Scandinavia is much less uptight and hes a king, he can call her whatever he likes.
in his home...
