I make killer apple pie. I always loved watching my Mom make pies the day before the Holidays. I would eat the apple peals while my Mom was pealing the apples. We would talk, and sing. I still to this day use my mother's pie crust recipe.
The egg timer was an early product of Pampered chef. You put it in the water as you cook the eggs and it changes color to tell you when they are done...I sold these in the mid-1980's. They weren't too expensive.

The egg timer works by putting it in the pot when you boil eggs and it changes from orange to yellow. The more yellow the harder the egg. That cat you picked up, I think that was worth a bit. Sorry, can’t remember the name of the moment but Crazy Lamp Lady collects them.

I'm in Arizona and we are experiencing the same Temps and I can't take it anymore. You know it's hot when the weather app on ur phone says that NEXT WEEK it's gonna be 99°F and u can't wait for tht cooler temperature!!! Of course I have AC but because it's so hot put the AC can only work so hard so I have 8 fans in the open concept Living room kitchen area... I have created what feels like a vortex... lol. I just want to be cold... I despise the heat... these Temps make me feel like hell is just below my feet. Yesterday I filled up a kiddie pool on my back porch and sat in it for abt 4 hours... the water tht comes out of the hose is actually so hot it can burn you so I went to the local gas station and bought 10 bags of ice and put those in the pool along with three 5 gallon jugs of water... it was a lot of work but damn, it was worth it!!!
I can relate! I live in South Florida where we barely have winter, only 2-3 “cooler” months, never “cold”. We just got a new a/c so it is keeping the house cool enough, but I can’t just stay here all day (can I? hmmm). I started having intense hot flashes in 2015 - it’s like having a furnace in your chest and you can’t move away from it. After about 10 minutes doing anything outside, I start getting woozy. Anything I put on my skin from moisturizer to makeup just sweats off as soon as I leave the house. My car is always hot even sitting in the shade. Sometimes I just sit in front of a fan and try not to move until the hot flash passes 🥵 For vacations, we always look to go somewhere colder, not warmer! I told my husband that when we retire, we must get a tiny condo waaaay up north somewhere so we can escape the heat at least sometimes.
Danni showed marvelous restraint. 🙃 I enjoy thrifting solo. Otherwise, it’s just not relaxing for me. I can’t make small talk or be social and look for treasures at the same time. Guess I’m an introvert thrifter! 😅
