The horse is great! Don’t paint it. It has a lot of character. But you may want to spray a top coat of some sort over it so that the paint doesn’t chip anymore. Like a matte clear coat just to seal it. You can also try to make a lamp out of it if you know someone who can wire it. That would be so cute and unique! Anyway, fun video!💕
I’m glad you left the plus size skirt behind at the theater swap meet. It can be rough for curvy girls to find quality thrift items, so you have their backs when you leave those pieces for them, and choose from the sizes that fill the racks instead.💖
Girl I'm Latinx and a fluent speaker in Spanish but I have accent when I speak so sometimes I get judged by the Latino community there's no winning it be your own people lmaoooo I'm happy you're supporting Latinx businesses though! If I go to socal in the future I definitely wanna to go there 🥹
one of the reasons i LOVE your channel so much is you show the true california and all of its history/people. i have so much LOVE for the Latino community. reminds me of the fleam markets me and my family would sell at in the atlanta area. Thank you thank you thank you so much for giving us insight on swap meets. its really cool! hopefully if i ever visit cali, ill def check the meets out.
I really enjoyed the background info you gave about MacArthur Park and its vendors, and I especially liked learning about the theatre! This was a very fun thrift video 😌
The carousel horse is gorgeous! I love all the pastel colors 🥰 Also I get so self conscious going to swap meets and asking about prices because it really varies on how you look, that’s why I prefer set price piles or racks that already have prices on each clothing 🥹😭
I grew up here and it hasn’t changed too much, except there used to be more vendors inside the building. In the 90s there were so many vendors in the Westlake theater!
Definitely wasn’t expecting a swap meet video! You got some good stuff and that carousel omg such a steal!! Yeah most vendors get surprised when I speak fluent Spanish 😅 it’s a really good place to get long pleated skirts and that abuelita type of clothes
Great video! I loved seeing you highlighting LA vendors and showing off the city!! me and my boyfriend used to spend a lot of time checking out la swap meets
I love to digg trough a pile of clothing. So sad about the theatre Love your carousellhorse! A grate buy girl! Keep her in her original state, keep the patina!!!! The velvet top was my favorite find from the clothes. Hugs X
The ring is super cute and pretty good price for sterling ❤ I have alot of stores downtown like the ones you were at it's right on the boarder of Mexico I live in South Texas so it's cool so many things are cheaper down town but you also have to be careful they sell alot of fakes but it's so cool when you find the awesome clothes vendors Loved this video Oh and since iam white and my hubby is Hispanic it really makes a difference if he's with me it's so true but iam all for supporting our local stores ❤😊 Xxx loves yall
Maybe the carousel could be made into a coat/hat rack. Maybe start enquiring with friends whether they know any builders? or see whether you can combine a coatrack with it as your own diy.
Keep the carousel horse 🎠 in its original state! The paint has history and character just like the old movie theater you visited. Maybe just a clear matte coat of paint so it doesn’t chip paint everywhere and seal it up? Great find chica!
Hiii Amandine!!! I'm doing awesome! I'm planning to do a bathroom makeover so waiting for things to get delivered BUT can't wait to get started and show it off! How are you doing?❤
It's so great that you found a carousel horse 🎠😍 I think I'd repaint it and maybe you could put a lamp on top. besides its cute look, it also has a function✨️
Yuuuuuh everyone is saying to leave it! So I’m not gonna touch it besides maybe adding a round ball to the top of the pole cause it looks a lil unfinished with a flat end😅
It's so funny you said that about ghost hunting in that theater. I had shown the clip behind the Christmas tree to my son and he said "Looks haunted. Are they ghost hunting?" Lol! You should do that. It would make for a creepy Halloween video!
Lololol girllll I’m such a chicken!!! I personally don’t believe in ghosts but the idea of them scare the crap outta me! I can’t even go to events like Halloween horror nights😭😭😭
Does anyone know the address of the woman’s collector store is where the carousel was bought. I would love to visit her store and find some hidden gems ♥️♥️
hi arthur and danielle i am a los angeles born latina and even I know to stay away from mac arthur park. fearless. you guys are fearless. los amo ! that means i love you guys.
The house is beautiful 😍 I don't know if you should paint it though... Maybe do some research so you don't end up ruining it because old wood is really delicate
When I go to the swapmeet or flea market I don’t go dressed up as a depop fashion girl cause they charge you more. I go in in skinny jeans haha to throw them off
Noooo but I did think that one was pretty cool! The one I wanted was a silver metal plate with a heart cutout. I wanted to show it off but her store was tiny and cramped so I felt uncomfy filming. I personally dont wear bracelets so couldn't justify it...maybe for earrings or a necklace but not for a bracelet. ya know what I mean?
Would absolutely cop that spidey button up. Great with jorts & sneakers. Oof yeah latino vendors are a hit or miss when it comes to how accepting they are with americanized chicanos/latinos. Some love to help you along while others turn a stank nose. Asi es la gente, lo importante es que quieres aprender y mejorar. Ademas, ellos pierden el dinero con ese actitud.
As a born and raised (and probably will die) Latina its so bizarre and oddly comforting to see an American vlog with buildings and stores that look so familiar. Tipo, todas las tiendas me recuerdan a las de Salta capital jajaja me encanta
Just a cute note girl, please don’t refer to women’s ages. It’s really hard out there for “older women”. They get left behind by the patriarchy and are just seen as “older women”, not women. So it’s really important we just refer to them as women ❤
I don´t think it was expensive compared to new clothes sold on other places or even other thrift stores. And about why they upcharge you, whith the gentrification we are living on America Latina I see why, you may identify as latinx but you also have more privilege than the people living there. I also feel that those kind of markets are always a bit pricer because they have to pay rent and other expenses and at the same time they don´t have too many coustumers, and also the quality most of the time is way better than fast fashion.
oh noo it’s sad to hear that they up charge you for being American :( even if you’re american your heritage is still valid and as a south american born and bred in Argentina just know that you have support here ❤❤ loooove your videos
The horse is great! Don’t paint it. It has a lot of character. But you may want to spray a top coat of some sort over it so that the paint doesn’t chip anymore. Like a matte clear coat just to seal it.

Oooo gonna look up some top coats rn! Cause it’s flaking quite a bit. The base looks to be a blue color and I actually love that it peeks through!🎠✨
@@twinelle maybe a matte finish to not ruin the vintage :D ? it is truly beautiful
The horse for $100 is fantastic! I personally like the aged look, maybe just put a clear coat of spray gloss on top to preserve the cracking paint.
I’m gonna do EXACTLY this!!! Y’all convinced me! Plus I don’t think I’m skilled enough to repaint the floral details it has🤣
I’m glad you left the plus size skirt behind at the theater swap meet. It can be rough for curvy girls to find quality thrift items, so you have their backs when you leave those pieces for them, and choose from the sizes that fill the racks instead.💖

Hahahhaa frrrr! Like they’re always like you gotta practice but are so quick to make fun when we say something wrong😭
Looove the rustic look on the carousel horse!! I wouldn’t paint it if it was my decision, but such a good find!
Nahhhh I actually agree! I think I might just ruin it if I try and paint it!
I honestly like the worn look of the horse. It gives it a haunted doll house vibe. Keep it that way
I was thinking the SAME!!! It also has some floral details on the neck and im fs not talented enough to repaint those lol
ghostly victorian was also the black top with the awesome sleeves what a beautiful black dark fairy core top
@@twinelle yeah keep it like it is! All these little cracks and imperfections tell their own story just like the theater haha

Saaaaame!!! Set price piles makes the transaction so easy but sometimes I like to chat it up with the vendor to get a better price😅✨
I grew up here and it hasn’t changed too much, except there used to be more vendors inside the building. In the 90s there were so many vendors in the Westlake theater!
Awwwww I could only imagine!!! There’s a ton of foot traffic in the area so kinda sucks that it’s not seen inside the actual swapmeets😢
I love when you show off architecture!
Hehehe glad I can geek out about it and y’all actually like it!!!😄💗✨
Definitely wasn’t expecting a swap meet video! You got some good stuff and that carousel omg such a steal!! Yeah most vendors get surprised when I speak fluent Spanish 😅 it’s a really good place to get long pleated skirts and that abuelita type of clothes
No fr cause why were these swampmeets filled with abuelita clothesss?!?!? I was on the hunt for hoochie mama vibes LOLOL 😂
Thanks!
I found your channel last night and so far have watched 27 this makes 28 videos! Love love your content and personality! ❤

the velvet black top??? such a dream
RIIIIIIGHT!!!! I just gotta watch a tutorial on how to fit tops cause it's a lil oversized

It's so great that you found a carousel horse 🎠😍 I think I'd repaint it and maybe you could put a lamp on top. besides its cute look, it also has a function✨️
That carousel horse would look so cool as a lamp! Is the pole hollow? 😍
at this point I think I never miss a video you post
Hehehehe thanks for always watching!!! You’re the best!🥰✨
Keep the horse that way I love it
🫡 yup! Leaving her as is!✨
where'd u get the pink ruffle skirt in the haul part
THE HORSE is so CUTTE!!
That horse is amazing! Definitely paint it! It deserves it!
Such a great field trip!! Plz leave the horsey as is! Maybe just add more bling and LED lights! The top would be a cool place for a table top!! 🥰💖🤍🙌
Yuuuuuh everyone is saying to leave it! So I’m not gonna touch it besides maybe adding a round ball to the top of the pole cause it looks a lil unfinished with a flat end😅
OKAY I CANT TELL BUT IF THE JORTS AT 9:30 WERE JNCO IM SO SAD U DIDNT GRAB THEM !!! LITERALLY BEST JEANS EVER
This place has the energy of Brasil 🇧🇷 i loved
Ooooo is shopping like this too?? Cheap prices too?
I 💕💕 the carousel house in its current state. I is amazing!!! If it was mine I would not repaint it....
Hi just wanted to ask where did you get your pants (from this video) I think they are super cute!
Marshall High School is doing a flea market...looks good. expensive but entertaining none the least lol
at 4:02 I am convinced that you might have passed by a green version of the red 'punk' sweater from everything everywhere all at once
I think it is
It's so funny you said that about ghost hunting in that theater. I had shown the clip behind the Christmas tree to my son and he said "Looks haunted. Are they ghost hunting?" Lol! You should do that. It would make for a creepy Halloween video!

How did you bring the horse back?!
The rings are good deals if they are silver plated. Nevermind, for Sterling silver is a greater deal
Make sure the horse really are authentic..if it's a remake just paint it..if it's authentic then painting it can lower the value. So beautiful 🎠
hi arthur and danielle i am a los angeles born latina and even I know to stay away from mac arthur park. fearless. you guys are fearless. los amo ! that means i love you guys.

62 degrees in Phoenix this morning! Highs today 90
Ooof a warm day for you! It's been SOOOO pretty in LA lately. We have a low of 59 and high of 86 today! Hope you're doing well
Was the bracelet you passed on the one with the skulls?
Noooo but I did think that one was pretty cool! The one I wanted was a silver metal plate with a heart cutout. I wanted to show it off but her store was tiny and cramped so I felt uncomfy filming. I personally dont wear bracelets so couldn't justify it...maybe for earrings or a necklace but not for a bracelet. ya know what I mean?
I would personally keep it in it's original state. Kinda reminds me of a ghost horse 🤍
I agree with everyone, don’t paint the horse! It’s so gorgeous 💛
LOLOL I’m taking everyone’s advice and NOT painting it!🫡🎠✨
Being rejected by my own community…I feel that! Was definitely bullied for not speaking Spanish growing up
Why is your bag so low down?
Lolololol idk 🤷🏻♀️ it was made like that. I got it at another swapmeet😂
Do you still do mystery bundles?!
Would absolutely cop that spidey button up. Great with jorts & sneakers.

@@twinelle I'll be on the lookout. thanks bb

Original state 💯
Do NOT repaint it! It looks soooo whimsical!❤
PAINT IT!!!!!!
So I'm late to the party- but absolutely DO NOT paint that horse. She's beautiful as she is
As a born and raised (and probably will die) Latina its so bizarre and oddly comforting to see an American vlog with buildings and stores that look so familiar.
Tipo, todas las tiendas me recuerdan a las de Salta capital jajaja me encanta
Heyyyyyyyy
hi hiiiiiiiiii❤
It used to be my favorite for vintage shopping but now its burnt out and expensive because of gentrifying gringos…
lol I've never heard anyone pronounce MacArthur park like that
Lol like how??🤔✨
Most people pronounce like McDonald's but mcarthur park
@@AbcDef-bo3qp ahhhh I can see that! But funny cause I’ve never heard it that way lol 😂✨
That's how they say on the intercom thing on the metro red/purple line and on the bus haha
