Scarves for me are cold weather outdoor wear. On a cold day, I'll wear a wool scarf tucked in under my coat, but long scarves or infinity scarves as just part of my daily wear bother me. I think of Isadora Duncan. It's a quirk of mine. As to cake fails, I remember my mother constantly telling us not to run through the house, yell, or slam a door when she was going to put a cake in the oven. She taught us that that would cause a cake to fall. So we tipped toed around and spoke in whispers when she baked. Actually, I think that she simply wanted her 5 kids to be quiet for awhile. And thank you for the blazing star pattern, I've downloaded it. My mind has already designed a wall hanging using it and the pin wheel pattern. I'm thinking purples, teals and turquoise with a clear crispy white background. I'll probably be doing it in the spring, as my winter projects are pretty well in motion. But, looking on the bright side, staying indoors gives me plenty of time to enjoy my sewing and reading. Take care and stay well.
Baking fail? Oh yes, the last batch of rolls were horrible, also cookies are a sometimes fail! Scarves I love but have a hard time getting them to hang correctly. Pink seems to be everywhere this year, but I don’t particularly care for pink so always have to substitute something else. Your idea yesterday to plan a couple different things to do each day for an allotted time resonated with me big time, thank you for that idea.❤️❤️
Yes love the way you wear your scarves. I have worn many scarfs when I lived in the foot hills of the sierras. Now that I have moved to a warmer part of California I don’t have a need for them . I am croqueting a simple short scarf for my sister. She wants it to lay flat under her coat and have extra warmth on her chest. I will be setting myself up for a mentally healthy winter. Thank you for saying that it is important to hear. ❤️ Be Well
Yes i have had a baking fail. This summer i made a bundt cake for the hubbys birthday. Put it in a plastic cake holder and put it all in the oven to keep it from ants. Welllllllll, i forgot the cake in the cake container was in the oven and one morning i got up and put the oven on to preheat for biscuits and after a little bit i looked in the oven to find i had a badly melting cake container and birthday cake melted all over each other and the oven. Thank goodness hubby had gotten to eat some of his cake. Talk about a mess. Got a big laugh out of that. Hugs Jackie
I have to share that I bought my oldest daughter 3 of the Hugge books after your video yesterday for Christmas. I’m thrilled you mentioned these books as she is in a place where this will help her. She is also having to put on 10kgs as she works so hard she forgets to eat lunch.
I love your cake fail. You are human. Lol I am loving the hykoos. I spelled it wrong. Cozy things has taken on new mean UK ngs. We are older. Please forgive we are traveling. And typing in the car is hard. Lol
I used to knit scarves when I lived in the Northeast. to wear when I went out in the cold. But I've never embraced wearing scarves in the house. My baking fail was awesome. I somehow got confused and put all my batter in one pan. When I went to check to see if it was done, it was. Because at least half of it cooked up and over the top, onto the oven bottom. What was left was good though.
So true I stocked up on fabric and books to read as I think it could be another year of stay at home so ready with projects for next year. I also plan on being more disciplined around walking so getting out every day
Hi Pat, 🌟 Blazing Stars, Mine will be made with the charcoal backing, and the Stars in grey's, brown's and blue colors. Hope I can get it done by December 21, in celebration of the Christmas 🌟 Star. Thanks for the scarf tutorial 😍 My Plan is to be Happy, Stay Calm.
Pat- you inspired me to make cuddle scarves but I'm going to wait and make them to give to some family members in January when we are tired, and cold, and missing each other. Going to surprise them!
Missed live today, I wear scarves all the time. I often arrange my oblong scarves the same way as you, sometimes closer to the neck like the 1800s gentlemen's ties. I also have a lot of square ones I told into triangles kerchief style. Then there are all the knitted shawlettes.
I have scarves but I don’t wear them as much with the pandemic happening. I’m an essential worker, and am around people all day at work, so everything goes directly into the wash when I get home. I’m not sure that most of my scarves would handle that level of washing! My baking fails are more around cooking too long than anything else, though that doesn’t happen so much any more. Right now, my hygge focus is on making the inside of my house as comfortable as the outside. During the spring/summer I spent a lot of time in my yard, enjoying the air. Now with fall/winter I won’t be able to do that, so figuring out what will make my house comfy is a daily task. Lots of decluttering happening!
I hv knitted infinity scarves & regular scarves & wear both. I've only bought rayon & blend fabric scarves, never made one of those. But I love the scarves with raveled edges:)
Oh, I was just watching FQS video on youtube with that star pattern so downloaded it. It is so cute. Great for fall table for sure. I LOVE that pink and greeen together. Would be a super cute baby quilt. Eifle tower project is just my style. I love a cottage look and the colors in that wall quilt is perfect. (green and pink). : )
Hey my friend where do I start..... oh yea the cake it needs to bake longer than cupcakes. No worries that is how we learn to be great bakers. Have you found the cake recipe I sent you. It's no fail by the way. Thanks for the free downloads I love them. Mind you I spend alot of money at FQS and Fabric.com already. Still went and bought the scarf fabric. My daughter turns 37 in February 2021. It will be a nice birthday surprise and thanks to you (I already watched the tutorial from FQS) where you said I could get 3 from 1 yard. I'll make 3 and have one for myself and a gift. Wanted to let you know we here in Minnesota have pretty much been just at home since February. We order groceries online and pick them up (they load them). We don't get out of the car. I get everything else from Amazon, Walgreen's, Walmart, etc..... UPS and Fedex know our address by heart I think. We watch the grandson for Candice (he's 4) so I have been ordering Duplo and Lego's for him and just recently found a puzzle for us to do with Christmas dogs on it. We read several books a day, do preschool stuff, crafts (he loves this) and constantly says "Nama let's make this".....Thanks for the Hygge I am part scandinavian can't wait to do more investigating with this. Hugs you too stay sane..... LOL
Love scarves wear all the time as my neck gets cold but not the rest of my body but I buy them as I want special colors and texture nott quilters cotton
I wear scarfs all the time. It’s almost like part of a uniform. I have several different methods for draping. I also have had some bake failures! I believe the apple pie was the worst! Ate the good part though.🥧
absolutely no pillows or scarfs, I do not like fiddly things. I don't even like the looks of scarfs myself as for the cake, you need a thermometer to make sure the temp is accurate. good luck in the future.

I used to wear scarves so often my friends teased me about what scarf I would wear on my wedding day!!!!
YOU and your daily videos are keeping me mentally healthy!

Be safe and enjoy each day.

Watching replay. Had Total Knee Replacement this morning.
Been there myself. Great way to entertain yourself while recovering! Wishing you a speedy healing!

I love scarves, but I've never made one. I wore scarves to work everyday at my previous job.

My youngest made me two knitted infinity scarves...so warm! I love them for the winter cold!
I do love your show

Good morning Pat- look forward to your daily videos
I love your top
Love scarves wear all the time as my neck gets cold but not the rest of my body but I buy them as I want special colors and texture nott quilters cotton
My daughter in law made me an infinity scarf. I circle it once and I wear it when its cold outside. It matches my coat.
Have watched Diane in Denmark for awhile now. She's lovely.
I have only crocheted scarves- Both regular and infinity
I've made cuddle scarves and. Last year I made sone from eyelash cuddle! Messy but beautiful! I gifted them and got rave reviews!
I love the look of scarves but I am chlostrophobic and extra stuff around my neck makes me really nervous
I have a similar problem. I like the look of scarves, but I'm always expecting them to catch on something and choke me.
I wear scarfs all the time. It’s almost like part of a uniform. I have several different methods for draping. I also have had some bake failures! I believe the apple pie was the worst! Ate the good part though.🥧
Blazing Saddles is hilarious!
Good morning from MY. Looking for some sunshine today!!
Have made scarfs Love to wear them made one out of Pendleton wool. Also love silk ones.
Good morning. I’m in west Texas so rarely need scarves. Lol I do have a few though.
So its also too hot inside your buildings? wow! I've been to Texas a lot and the buildings I was in i needed scarves
I'm in Abilene & yes, depending on what building you're in, you might need a scarf :)
@@PatSloan not all buildings. Lol. I guess it could be partly my age.
your 'cake fail" is just an opportunity for lots of gooey icing in the middle!
Did you test the doneness of your cake with a toothpick? It looks like it wasn't done in the middle.
It appears the Blazing Star pattern is not free
The link is to the paid pattern but the free block pattern is available now on the FQS website.
@@LifeSewCrazy -- And on Pat's blog post from today. Just the star pattern is free, not the pinwheel.

Your cake and cupcakes weren't baked long enough. That's why they fell in the center.
my cupcakes were perfect Gayle and the cake actually did bake enough.. I watched the center flop in .. ugh!
