Heartless is just phenomenal. The writing was perfect, pacing was perfect, romance and spice were perfect, humor was there. It was my no. 1 too this year.
You cried on the Entreat me review and that moved it into my next book position and then sweet like poison omg I'm crying with you.What you said about we want spice right away is so true i had to train myself to wait because I was getting bored with way too many books.
I hope you love them too. I love tough women who can be tender. 🥰 Yeah, I can see it in myself when I get impatient for spice and I just need to chill sometime. Haha! But we are being trained to want it fast and not every story calls for it. I just try to be aware and switch it up when I need to.

Entreat Me was my most surprising read of the year. I don’t normally care for fantasy, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I would never have picked it up if not for your enthusiastic suggestion to read it. Thanks for helping me stretch my reading self.
Such a great list! I have been a lot like you with the hype over Heartless but it’s now at the top of my TBR! My fav book of 2022 was Before I Let Go. You must listen to the audio. It really brings the story to life, especially the lighter moments for some reason. Love your channel!

Resting witch face was my most anticipated out of the series too but always practice safe hex was the superior of her 2022 releases. Honest you can’t go wrong though. Also Restore Me and Before I let go 🥰 absolute favorites!

I just got into kresley cole about a week ago. I got out of romance for yyyyears but when I picked up a hunger like no other I fell in love and eventually got into Lothaire. And OMG!!!!! I've loved paranormal romance but had nooooo idea how much I'm into some of those kinks. Her books have checked pretty much all of my boxes! Relatively new to the channel but loving the channel! Great details and explanations on what to look for without spoilers!
Yes! Give Me More was also my fave from that series, their relationship was so well done, Brutal Vows was a 5 ⭐ for me but I didn't like any of the other books in that series at all🤷♀️ and Before I Let Go was fantastic, another beautiful love story from Queen Kennedy.
Still need to read resting witch face, might make it the next book I read! I just finished what was meant to be by QB Tyler and Jenn there is a pegging scene in it, very 🔥 it's a really good book. I'm in a taboo phase ATM so now I'm reading burnout by Coralee June. I never got my copy of Anastasia, it got damaged in shipping and was sent back. So now I have to wait again for the price to come down to get a copy
Hello Jenn. I loved all of the Salacious Players Club books. I am in the middle of reading Fake Out by Eden Finley and I have to say that I am loving li !!!!!!!!! Maddox and Damon are so great together. I like them together as a couple. It’s cute that Damon got jealous of Maddox and his friend Matt. I am enjoying reading it.
Kennedy Ryan definitely has one up on the die hard romance community. The, "I don't read Women's Fiction, " romance community. She has us all going in major journeys of growth with her characters, she is dropping knowledge on domestic abuse, recovery and healing, depression, environmental and social justice, racism etc. D She delivers it all with grace and gives us the love and passion we are seeking. Just saying, "She got us."🤣 🤣🤣
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your appreciation on behalf of fantasy romances or fantasy books in general. My apologies. I am not quite knowledgeable enough to make distinctions between diverse genres and sub-genres. But at the same time there are many of us who deal with the harsher aspects of the reality than living in a glittering la la land. So for those of us perhaps the harsher and more logically relatable topics in a book hit home in a more profound way. Cos at the end of the day, the fantasy is just fantasy. It does not provide us with the grit and drive to get through our daily life challenges that much. We can't discard any variation of readers. Everybody is meant to have different liking to pick up a book.
Feel like you about the hype...If everyone likes it. Than it's not so good and than I more inclined not to read it or take years before I read it. And it's a shame because I miss on a few good books. One thing though I more inclined to read books you recommend. Love your top favorites. 😘❤🧡

Hey, no worries!! There's just so many similar titles I wasn't sure. 😅 it was a tough year to pick favorites. Honestly, I have BWAM a 6 star more for Uniqueness than anything, so when I compare it to other top faves.. it's not quite as high, but still beloved.
I loved Anastasia! I bought multiple copies as Christmas gifts for people. I do understand why a lot of people were upset/let down though. From the way the author talked about it I was expecting something like a SJM book…but it’s really a YA historical fantasy novel. I love history so for me it was great. But I can see why someone expecting a romance who doesn’t like history would not like the book.
I mean, I disagree about the YA part. Plenty of fantasy starts with characters as children.. doesn't make it YA. And ahh... SJM WAS ya until 2 years ago... also.. low spice doesn't mean YA. SJM had zero spice in House of Earth and Blood. 🤷♀️🤷♀️ But I understand what you mean. I just disagree that it's YA. I think Sophie herself didn't know how spicy or how much of certain things would be in it. That's how it goes when you start promotion before writing. But she let the story take her where she will. I'm glad you gave it a chance and loved it so much. 🥰
I totally respect your perspective and understand why you feel that way. I hope you didn’t think I was being insulting by saying it felt YA. I love YA and personally read both YA and adult books. I definitely felt like it was appropriate for teens (13+) and I recommended it to my teen cousins. I know there are a lot of adult books with zero spice. Brandon Sanderson is my favorite modern author-so I definitely read a lot of adult books with zero spice! :) ACOTAR is definitely an adult series even though it was originally marketed as YA. SJM said from the start it’s adult and now bookstores/libraries nationwide have moved the series to the adult section. What!? House of Earth and Blood had zero spice?…I’m so confused by this…do you mean you didn’t like the spice? Or it didn’t feel spicy? There is definitely on page s*x. I don’t like SJM’s spice but I love Sophie’s. That’s why I was so excited for her to turn to fantasy. But like I said, I still LOVED it and have gotten a lot of people to read it. ❤
