You mention in this video that Mamma Christa has 2 cast ons. Bur you only show us 1 of them. Will you please, make a video of the second cast on method? Steven, I think you are FABULOUS! I hope to visit your store one day.
This is fabulous. Thank you so much. The German Twisted cast-on has been my go-to, but I think I prefer Mama Christa’s. It feels even stretchier, and that lovely edge it gives!!
Oh my goodness, this just reminds me how much I have missed you since you closed the store in Rosemount!! I guess I will need to make at trek to MInneapolis!!
This would work for other grouping too wouldn't it? Like if I was working 3x2 ribbing I could do 2 regular and 1 Mama Christa cast on! This is brilliant!
Is this really any different from alternating a conventional long tail cast on stitch with a German twisted cast on stitch? I suspect not - but is hard to tell because of the camera angle. Steven, it would be so much easier if we could see what your hands are doing using an over your shoulder angle (as if looking at one’s own hands) , not obliquely from the side!

Thank you for sharing! Your mom is adorable! I'm going to give this cast-on a try. 🙂
