Here another detail about BTS you may not know but the bts fans would know . In South Korea there are 3 huge rich and powerful kpop entertainment companies. Aka “ THE BIG 3”. They were SM , YG & JYP . These three dominates the Korean music industry . Bts came from big hit entertainment . A small and new company . Even though heir company been around since 2005 ( not sure if that’s the year ) .
The mindset was if you didn’t came from the big 3, your at a disadvantage and get look down on . People
Told bts would never make it because they had very little money and didn’t had a rich company to back them up . BTS went through many hardships and struggles with their company : almost disbanded , almost went bankrupt , etc . There would sometimes be media manipulation . The big 3 would pay korean music shows to promote and broadcast their artists more then BTS from big hit . Big hit and BTS received so much hate , bullying , mockery , insult comments . BTS had to barrow their staff members and cars to help out with being extras for music videos . That’s how bad their budget was .
South Korea didn’t even respected BTS. However BTS got popular internationally. Your suppose to get big in Korea then go internationally however it was vice versa for them. They relied on social Media to get their message and fandom base to be known and grow.
Mic drop is one of many diss tracks BTS created . It’s a diss towards all the haters disrespected them , mock them , taken advantage of them , mistreated like shit etc
It's true. I'm Korean and I think it's also the fault of the Korean entertainment industry and the media. Idols who debuted in small and medium-sized agencies should work harder to promote their songs, and idols from large-scale agencies should also work harder because they are from big agencies. And most of all, if you like idol singers in Korea, you don't get a good response . Idols don't get much better treatment than actors. They don't want to see how much idols work with a light sleep. There is a common word 'Unple' which means media play, many people in south korea use this word pretty often to criticize big companies for taking control of the media.

Just a personal word of advice, having watched how fandoms speak to different reactors - ignore or don't give much credit to commenters who spread fandom drama. They have a very specific intention of creating animosity btwn the other fan bases, blink, army, exo-l or whoever it may be. And they'll find something to be upset about no matter what you do.
Listen/react to what YOU want and what you like. We want to see your honest reactions and the majority of all these fan bases love to watch you discover these groups, no hate involved.
Personally I'm a huge BTS fan because they are the most talented artists working today, period. There's a reason why they're such a global hit and the more you watch I'm certain you'll see why.
More than anything, enjoy yourself!! I too am a fan of music, in general, and there's plenty of amazing music and performances waiting to be discovered by you :)

@monika krell I agree with you. They are the most humble group I've ever known. With all of their success and fame, they never change since from the very beginning. They've been doing a lot of charities without making it public. And to tell you the truth I've seen a lot of celebrities drastically change their attitude when they get too much fame and success. Most of them get too arrogant but BTS are not. They remain humble and respectful. You know, the best way to know more about your favorite artist is to listen to reviews and opinions from different staff, reporters, production crew and etc. from different places they've been working too. That's why they are loved by everyone. Even reporters that most of the celebrities don't like to associate are so fond of them.
P.S. I am not telling that all of the celebrities are like that but most of them.

3 members in the group are solid rappers. "Who is BTS" would let you know about each of their talents, personalities, and some hardships on their way to success. The 3 rappers have masterful rap songs as solos and with just the 3 together. They also show their rap skills in many bts songs over the years. You have at least 6 years worth of content to get through. They are all spectacular, artful, often socially conscious, and timeless kind of songs.
For the rapper:
RM is the one that stood out to you. He went by Rap Monster when he debuted.
J=Hope is the dancer at the start of Mic Drop.
Suga had the blonde hair.
I would recommend Cyphers 1=4, Ddaeng, Outro Tear to start with. You will know more about them to then appreciate their solos. You are in for a treat.
if you keep listening to BTS you'll find a few "traditionally boyband-y" sounding songs, but I'd bet you'd like them regardless bc they're super good. you'll also find more poppy songs, slow songs, some edm, r&b, some rock vibes, etc. the boys produce the songs themselves (along w a few in house producers), and write their own lyrics, and they love to experiment w different sounds and genres. Like if you listen to let's say Just One Day after this, and then Dionysus after that, and then 134340 after that, and then Anpanman after that, and then Coffee after that, you'd be like, These are the same dudes?? haha
also don't let juvenile fan wars dictate you, with how big a lot of these kpop groups are, they have a lot of fans, and the louder fans can get downright mean. Just enjoy the ride, and listen to who you want and learn about who you want. I'm an ARMY, and I like a couple BP songs but could never really get into them, and that's okay. just do what you enjoy, and ignore/delete any hateful messages you get ^^
Most Blinks and Army are cool. But it doesn’t take a few from either to spread hate. Be warned of the slippery slope of Kpop fandom. Kiss the asses of one fandom is one thing but to kiss asses of multiple fandoms is another thing all together. Both BlackPink and BTS are awesome!

Btw , kpop music isn’t always “pop music in korean “ but kpop artists are known to infuse different genres : hip hop , RnB , pop , jazz, rock , blues , edm , even Latin pop .
BTS main base is hip hop but have experimented with other genres. They have 4 vocalists and three rappers . 2 of their rappers use to be underground rappers in South Korea .

I am A.R.M.Y. for BTS. BTS is an acronym for the Korean expression Bang(B)tan(T) Sonyeondan (S) meaning Bulletproof Boy Scouts. They are the bullet (prejudices & oppression in life) proof scouts (protectors against bullies) ... their music on most part follows this line of action with messages about life issues through their lyrics. Like the song you just listened to. They use their own experiences to give help to others.
I chuckled when you said "FIRE" & "DOPE" cause they have songs with those titles ...if interested you should check them out. Since you like this song "Mic Drop" you will probably like them. Plus think about "Bulletproof pt2" ...it goes all the way back to their beginnings.

I am a fan of a LOT of different music genres and artists.... my own personal opinion is there is no one like BTS.... their writing, composing, producing, dancing, etc. etc. etc. and UNICEF campaign to #EndViolence and all the good their promote in spite of the haters and nay-sayers.... truly humble and talented young men. The live performance often has a dance break at the end that lets the beat drop fully.... People call BTS K-Pop but they are so much more than that generic and limited title.... truly... R&B, Rap, Pop, Hip Hop, jazz, contemporary, etc etc etc.... You want to hear RM speak? He is usually the speaker for the group during interviews just because he is so much more comfortable with his English than the other members.... but he gave a speech at the UN on behalf of BTS with them there supporting him so well that you should look up and listen to. VERY empowering. They have a Cypher series (4 of them) that REALLY gets in to clapping back at haters, but they also have very deep songs and MVs addressing domestic violence, mental health, depression, drug abuse, etc.... their message LOVE YOUR, SPEAK YOURSELF has touched a lot of lives around the world. They also have solo projects and mix tapes, videos, etc.... The member that started the dance (J-Hope) just released a new version of "Chicken Noodle Soup" last week with a MV (featuring Becky G).... you should check it out.... it is very addictive though so be careful. As someone else said, PLEASE ignore any haters in the comments. There are toxic members of any fandom, and sometimes they like to come out and troll BTS content (as well as others).... there are also people who CLAIM to be ARMY (BTS Fans) who are not really but want to stir up drama..... The majority of ARMY are all supportive and positive (but can be very protective of the guys and passionate in that protection)..... Some are hyper-sensitive to comparisons with other groups. Just a heads up.....

Bts is tied whid Beatles for having 3 nr 1 Albums at Billboard whiin 1 year, the also won Billboard Top Social Award 3 years in a row and also this year Best Group/Duo. The just sold out 6 Stadium concert in America for 35 milj dollars

BTS is unique cuz they write and produce their own music. They always put messages inside their songs concerning depression, suicide, social issues, self-love, etc. They are the most versatile, all their songs sound different from one another. They even release solo projects/mixtapes free for fans. Most kpop groups dont write their own music (only a few that do). BTS lyrics had helped many people thru life struggles, their fan's age range from 3yrs old to 90yrs old.

One difference between BTS and all other Kpop groups is that they participate in the production/composition/creation of all their albums. Instead of passing on the duty to professional producers, they take full responsibility of their music. They're so heavily involved in every little process that their music reflect their identity fully, which is why people relate to their songs so well. Okay,this song is for the haters! BTS's rapper Suga (here he has a light blue hair) was inspired by Obama's speach where he drop the mic and last few years BTS became world wide huge. Before that they were not very popular in Korea especially not in the world but hey hard work (like all groups cuz all of them I mean all kpop groups are trainning for a years to became singer,rapper,dancer,actor...)pays off and now they have millions (totally deserve it). They are now no.1 best male group in the world. They are like one of few groups in kpop who makes their own music (like BIGBANG who was first in everything in today's kpop) so like you see they are not just talented in dancing,singing,rapping they can make music and one member is an actor too (my bias V) aka two years in a row the most handsome male face in the world! You know why BTS is so much better than other boy band groups, because they're really different from most KPop boy bands. They're good at everything. Dancing, producing their own music, rap, etc. So many talents. So, if you like rap, you better react to their rap lines on cypher parts 1-4, AGUST D, and other songs will appear easily for you to react to.

Army here. I am subscribed to lots of channels that eventually branch off into other kpop groups. I only watch their BTS content. And I’ve never disliked their videos that are about other groups. Not sure why people would tell you that about ARMYs.
Any ARMY who wastes their time ragging on anyone for liking another group isn't true ARMY.
Some BLINKS can be brutal as well. I hope they aren't considered real BLINKS either.

There's no female version or male version group and definitely be careful with the fandoms, don't get pulled into the fan wars. The wars r complicated and have a very long history. I would try to avoid them if possible.
Most kpop groups have their own sound and concepts so it rly is hard to compare even though fans try.
BTS writes, composes, produce and assist in their music so a lot of their music are from their perspectives and their thoughts. This is not typical in kpop (which is not a bad thing-at least i don't think so), just don't expect for every group to be like BTS and that is ok.
Army aren't the type to hate just bc u're a fan of another group, we r just cautious of who we love as well as are not afraid to stand up for ourselves and BTS; we are not easily bullied. But, unfortunately, we are continuously used for views, click bait and clout. I'm not even kidding, there was a huge incident just this week 😔 as long as you are genuine, we will love you 💜
Also, BTS started out as rap/hip hop group and rap in most of their songs (not the vocal line songs) but what makes them great in a lot of army's eyes is the fact that they don't stick to a specific genre; they mess with rap, edm, trap, hip hop, African influences, Carribean influences, rock, you name it, they will work with it.

@@KXNGiLLuSioN BTS have been through so so much, all of this because they debuted from a small and poor company, they were saying they would be a flop. There is also their heavy hip-hop style in their old days, they were also critisised by underground hip-hop fans because of Suga and RM leaving underground rap to be in BTS. Their lyrics talks about different issues, society, critisism, politic... They are not afraid to say what they think and are more free than the other kpop groups.

I am a new army as well. 2 month old army, who is 64 years old 😊😊. They say when u get in you can't get out, and i am happy i am in. Best thing ever happened to me in a very long time. Okay BTS info for you, it has 7 members, 3 rappers & 4 vocalists, each of the rappers Suga Jhope & RM (leader) all have released solo projects as well. In korea there were top 3 agencies that really controlled most of the music industry SM, YG & JYP. When BTS came out they were from a very tiny agency with no support so they came from nothing and were considered trash right out the boat. So now with BTS rise smaller agencies as well are coming up as well. The Big 3 have now changed....LOL That is another reason btw to avoid comparing. Some agencies dont have good reputations and some have better budgets than others so it opens up a can of worms comparing. For Example (dont attack its only for reference purpose as i like blackpink), Blackpink is from YG entertainment (massive budget), poor reputation lately) and blackpink is doing great, but YG doesnt have a good name for itself, while artists like Monsta X who are from an lesser known label are doing very well for themselves overseas but have very little budget. There is politics behind the groups.
