The difference between Srixon, Mizuno, Bridgestone and Taylormade, Callaway, ping, Titleist, and Cobra is that the latter include metal woods in their player contracts. That's it. Your Mizuno reviews (and now add this one) prove time and time again that they keep up with everything. They just want their players gaming their irons and using their head covers, lol. But the players are free to play whatever they're comfortable with. As always, wonderfully produced review Mark. The time and effort you guys are putting in really shows.
One of my fav. Clubtests for a long time. 1. really entertaining. Loved the game fairway and long ball. 2. I had something similar like Dan was thinking about the brand or shape. I had for a long time a no name brand driver in my bag. I always said, when I buy a new one it’s been a callaway or Ping. Last Training season my coach said: I’ve got a good driver for you. (Used) It was a Titleist 915D2. My expectations weren’t really good, because you know it’s not a callaway or ping. Oh man this driver got me after 3 balls! Well it’s in my bag now.. it’s used and it’s not the brand I expected... not at all! @Dan: can’t wait to see a course vlog killing everybody with this srixon! Boom 💥

Love the fact that it has the minimum of frills but performs properly. And I like how excited Dan got about it. Similar to Mark at Titleist testing the Vokey instead of a PW. Discovery of something wonderful.
These recently came into the shop where I work and admittedly I wasn’t taken by it when I first saw it but after a good few goes I can’t get enough of it now. Feel/sound is spot on and love the way it looks at address. As good as anything out there if not better IMO.

The Z785 is still competitive as I still have mine as well as TM Stealth. I changed the adjuster screw ($1) now its compatible with all torque wrenches like the ZX5/7 are std too..
I've got TaylorMade in my bag for everything bar the wedges and (2nd hand, unfitted) 2005 Nike Sasquatch driver. Time to upgrade. My local golf store happened to have a Srixon fitting day when I went in and had the Z 785. After a few shafts and balls I was hitting 15m further and more consistently on the sim. I couldn't imagine hitting better, and it retails at about $100-200 less than the 'name' brands. Walked out with money down on a custom Z 785, never would have expected it until I hit it.

Just to clarify Mark. Last year Matsuyama was the only signed player to use their drivers. This year, of the 19 signed players around the world, 14 are now using new the 785!!! More will switch (according to Srixon) when the FedEx cup ends. It IS that much better! We are seeing gains over the Rogue and M3/4. Minor gains but gains none the less! Also for the shaftoids; hzrds handcrafted shafts are part of the no charge upgrade in their woods now!!!!
Interesting review, Like how Dan was won over by the club, I have the Z745 irons which are by far the best irons I have ever hit, went in for Mizuno Irons but the fitter threw those in and I was blown away at how good they are. This driver is also really well priced too so I am looking forward to trying this but am a bit disappointed that they seem not to be bringing the Z585 driver which should be the more forgiving model to the UK.
Get up Dan is going away??? I do like the giant steps for his distance from fairway compared to his almost regular walking type steps for how far his bomb ball was ahead of yours Mark. Haha. Good video. Never even picked up a Srixon driver. Might have to swing it next time I'm at the local shop.
Just bought this driver (with HZRDUS Red 65 shaft) after comparing it to the Ping G400 Max, Titleist D2, TaylorMade M3 and Callaway Rogue. It just performed better, sounded better, looked better, felt better in every way than all the rest. Fantastic piece of equipment.
Good driver. I play Srixon irons as well. But all drivers are good today, so it's left to the square adjustment key. Therefor I'll play something else.
I read somewhere that they are trying to get their tour pros to switch to this driver. Matsuyama for example plays a TM driver but I believe is planning to switch. Looks good.
Something that wasn't mentioned is that in North America the stock shaft is a real deal hzardous black handcrafted, with yellows and reds available at no upcharge. This is the best stock shaft in the history of golf. On any other driver it would be a 300$ upcharge.

Never hit a driver from srixon, but the irons are really nice. The are under many people's radar. May have to test this one though. I may get the whole 785 line ( even though I game the rogue pro and driver and 3 wood right now). These would make a great back up or option.

I’ve been playing with contacts for the past 10+ years. It’s the only time I wear them. It makes your life soooo much easier on the course. I highly recommend.
Nice video guys. Try the XXIO 9 driver from the same family. Not sure if widely available in UK. Best driver I have ever owned and is virtually foolproof from the tees. Would be good to see a test. Might change peoples perception of always staying with the brand that advertises the most. No 1 selling driver in NZ. Great video's thanks

Srixon are such a great equipment brand. It's a shame they get downplayed with all the marketing hype behind TM and Callaway. I gamed the 745 and 765 irons up until recently and they were so pure! If you're shopping around and can find them, go try them out.

Friend of mine uses a Srixon driver and loves it, gets good distance and consistent strike. Would definitely try them out if went for a fitting. My local club stocks Srixon clubs, so a good choice, no idea on price though.👍
Srixon had 0 staffers that used the previous model. Supposedly have 7 on tour using the Z785 already. Knox, McGirt, Hideki, Keegan, Ryan Fox, etc. but who knows if it will stick.

Because price is not as important as performance. for example the other day I went for a driver fitting I tried the new Callaway drivers also the ping drivers and Cobra drivers. In the end the driver that was best for me was the new Ben Ross evolution driver which outperformed all those others and cost wise it was under half their price. Go figure
Ball speed when you hit it in the middle is the same with every driver, some drivers have moi so are better on off center hits, and far more importantly some drivers will spin, or launch lower or higher. Saying they will all perform the exact same if you put the same shaft in them is incorrect.

My guess is also when all the top brands perform the same, people dont want to spend the same money on a perceived smaller brand driver that would also buy an M3/4, Rogue, DS2/3 and F8's for eg.

Tested this driver; bought this driver. Spin, launch, carry and total were comparable to the TS3. Very happy with the performance.
