- The Northern Mali Conflict, or more rightfully also known as the Mali Civil War is a conflict between the Mali government, Tuareg rebels and Al-Qaeda and later ISIS affiliated Islamist groups, Tuaregs are a ancient Berber ethnic group that have wished for independence for nearly a Century, but after the effects of the Arab Spring, they establish their own nation in Mali, but at a great cost.

I like the fact that you make wars no one made a mapping video about
it's because they're not as popular as biggest news, countries like these are thrown away by the others..
Its necessary 🤣🤣 tks god
For this modern wars where everyone gets involved just put the world map on a corner so that it is visible and save space looking more appealing.
I'll try and see if i can do that, thanks for the suggestion!
1:18 Independent State of Azwad: Finally I got my independence.
1:20 Ansar Dine: I don't think so...
@Right Wing they fought against islamists tho and they're seculars
There is so many wars that occured that I would’ve never known about if it wasn’t for great mappers like you!
Haha, thanks man!
It felt like a world war from the picture for how many nations there were
Lol.
*notices the amount of conflicts Libya was involved with*
Dammit, Libya! You’re causing a *GRAND* deal of damage!
Libya is just Evil. That's why I don't believe their civil war will end ever without Libya completely collapsing into 3.

Mauritania:Tf is happening right next to me
Lol.
Aka fake land
oh boy i wanted this video so bad thx for making it
Yup, NP!
nice, but would have been nicer if you added the previous Tuareg revolts in '62, 95, 07 - and maybe the WWI revolts, so we get a sense of the history of Tuareg revolts.
but still, i good job.
Probably, i'll have to do them anyways if i wanna continue doing my African project series, lol.
Amazing video! Have you planed the South Sudanese Civil War someday?
Yes i have actually, i haven't started production yet, but i hope to work on it soon!
When the US, China, India, Ukraine, Japan, UK and Uganda all agree on fighting rebels.
Yup.
That’s when you know that **** just got real.
@@skywarslord4680 Lol, you got that right.
But France is the only western power in reality thats fighting
Amazing i loved it thanks 😻
NP!
Hurricane Hunter03 what ?
@@ralmonroe6412 I worded that wrong, my bad.
I mean to say Thanks.
What if everyone didn’t help Mali?
Al-Qaeda would be in complete control of Mali.
Hurricane is right after that happend isis "aka al qaeda" gonna ruin all the arab nations as far as i know hes trying to controll the arab so thats a bad thing
@ⴰⵙⴰⴼⴰⵕ ⵏⴰⵔⴰⵖⴰⵙ Well no, considering the Tuaregs couldn't even secure their control from Al-Qaeda in the first place, i don't think just Algeria would be able to retake Gao or Timbuktu or the like.
Free Touareg !
Yeah idk why all of the countries seemed to be against Azawad.
Ye
Which Libyan government supports Azawad?
National Transitional Council, and the pro-UN backed government.
@@HurricaneHunter03 do you mean the Government of National Accord?
@@erenyeager6478 Yes.
@@HurricaneHunter03 damn even right after the first libyan civil war libya still supports militants

The world just joined in to help Mali
I never knew Nepal was also involved. This is very interesting.
Never knew about this.
Great 👌
Fun Fact : Western Sahara IS a moroccan territory. Why ALGERIA has his territory and Morocco no ?
The Tuareg aren't the luckiest it seems....
Sadly they aren't.
@ⴰⵙⴰⴼⴰⵕ ⵏⴰⵔⴰⵖⴰⵙ i m a berber but you cant blame France you guys lost all the territory to jihadists before France even arrived there
@ⴰⵙⴰⴼⴰⵕ ⵏⴰⵔⴰⵖⴰⵙ I'm an Algerian Berber and I'm really sorry because my country support Bamako against Azawadi people.
All my support for you. ❤️
Tuaregs deserve independence, unfortunately al-qaeda exploited them like it exploits every unstable country. Al-Qaeda must be destroyed.
What kind of terrain is that? Why is it so impossible a whole coalition to crush insurgents in a non-pretty big country?
It’s mostly useless empty land. They have trouble controlling the region because the insurgents don’t really fight the government head on. They run away and hide when a large force gets sent to attack them.
In plus of Awlkd said, the video shows a support from everyone while it is a bit wrong to put all those countries to the darkest color meaning they're fully invested in the war.
Actually, the real countries that are really helping militarily are the Sahel's countries and France (without the French intervention, the jihadists would have taken Bamako a long time ago already). The main international action of there is the Operation Barkhane, but again, only French forces ( around 5K over the whole Sahel region) are present (and less than 200 soldiers from other European countries but they're not even really active).
When you add in plus the fact that the situation is boggling down, you understand why the insurgents still haven't been crushed.
@@tomc9640 the EU forces aren't intended to fight. They're intended to train Mali's military and those of other Sahel countries, since those militaries suffer from poor training. They also suffer from little, outdated or plain bad equipment, which is where support from the US and China is really helpful.
Shoutouts to the northeastern US states that contributed seperate from the rest. What?
😂😂

Ansar Dine is littlery a fucking terrorist group. I am not that educated on Islam but i am pretty fucking sure the quran tells muslims to be peaceful and tolerant, not to be barbaric terrorists like Ansar Dine.
Mali is allied with half world huh
