Forever the jam. Frankie is a national treasure.
He sho' is!
💯
The greatest intro to a song ever. That's not even up for debate.
Def could be debated.
Popa was a rolling stone is in that debate...
Papa Was A Rolling Stone
ThE GOAT !!!!!!!
Definitely 100%
@@kendricklewis4947 Hell no LMAO!!! and I love that intro but there's was no build-up. Not like this.
Can't go wrong with Maze they get played at all the cookouts gathering's everything
YESSSSS ! Notice how Tyler Perry had this song playing in his movie "Madea's Family Reunion ".😂😂😂
Nice, I want to attend these cookouts
@@ocgreaser4957 haha u ever in the NC and we having one you welcome ha👍
YESSSS INDEED 👍
YESSSSS!!!! That’s the group sweetie. They don’t get the accolades that they deserve….🎼🎹
True. Hey but Frankie Beverly and Maze remain "The Group", in Galveston and Galveston County. Jamming at cook outs, clubs, parks, yard work, chillin,or just whatever! We jamming Maze. Just as fresh as the late 70's,80's . Some of our offsprings gottem on their play list.
@@elisageorge1798 #FACTS..They ALWAYS sell out when they come to Houston. No matter how many shows they do
Really?
That's alright, God has had them throughout the years!
At one of the MANY shows of theirs that I've attended, Frankie addressed their lack of "accolades". I remember him saying that God asked him, "Would you rather have the awards or the reward?" They done far better without awards, but have been richly REWARDED!
maze featuring Frankie Beverly is a national treasure!
Bro you did it; you pulled one of the classics FASHO! Stay in this groove.
Have seen them several times at the Cincinnati Music Fest. Everybody wears white. Outdoors, in the summertime, drinks flowing, smoke in the air, and a sea of white, dancing in the aisle. Epic!!!!
And everybody singing at the top of their lungs! Summer Saturday night concerts at the Carter Barron Amphitheater, Washington DC. Not a soul sitting in the whole place! Everybody dancing and swaying, hands in the air! Screaming Joy and Pain 😎😎
This that cleaning up the house/cookout music. All uncles everywhere...."Whachu know bout da?!"
Makes me want to clean up the house on Saturday morning lol , gen x and y understand what I'm saying !!
That’s what I’m about to do 😂
That was the only out from the house. Gotta get those chores done. And Sunday morning gospel too.
Yessss
Yes I do.
🤣🤣🤣
This makes me so proud of Black American music. You have got to check out their other songs -- so much great music from Maze.
So many great songs and artist's around 70,s 80s...Harvest for the world....
Maze is crazy good. For a real mood, listen to "Golden Time of Day"
Did you know that he already did a reaction to that track? I sent it to him. It was his first Maze reaction.
@@debragarcia671 thanks!
Rest in power to the legend
Maze had so many good songs. Hard to choose a favorite. Check out `Back in Stride Again`.
💯
Their whole catalog!
My Lady of Magic is a one you'll enjoy by Maze also.
Great music can’t be denied!!!!! Released in 1980 an still goes hard. This group and song are a Force not to be played with! Do yourself a favor, if they are playing anywhere near you it is a show that you won’t forget!
"YES, YES....YES"!!!!
Once you have heard Frankie Beverly and Maze, you will be "transformed forever"!!!!
As we a "little older" would say, "Grown Folk" music at its best!!!! Frankie Beverly came out when Inwas in high school and I was "green and immature: to the power and significance of "MAZE" and the spiritual soul and smoothness of this now, legendary group!!!
Feel fortunate, Brotha Satori, you became aware of a group, that you will play when you feel happy, a need to celebrate, a time to be alone and reflect and just give you that "grounded and soulful" feeling!!!
From live concerts, where you "jump to your feet" on the "first note" , to that road trip, where the sounds take you above the skies, the universal love for Frankie Beverly and Maze is real and pure to the fullest!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎶🎵📻🎙😉
Note: Feel the love with "Southern Girl", "After The Morning", and of course, "Feel What I'm Feeling" !!!!🔥🔥🔥🎶🎵📻🎙
Well said, can say no more! That mournful and joyful voice, at once brings a meditative state and endless hope. Songs of love and wisdom. And great philosophy! No joy without pain, life embraces both...
@@Aurabora54321 "Appreciate you and your kindness and sincere appreciation of Frankie Beverly and Maze!!! I have to say, in our current days, I been clinging to the "real words" and instruments of the great bands and voices of years past... As I said, the vibes of our greats, just take your heart and mind to chapters of your life that had meaning, where dreams were forming and love and unity was a priority.
I so,so hope we all make efforts to let these great songs awaken our attitudes to give a hand of hope and gain, unity. God Bless You.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😊
Thus was so very well written and my thoughts about MAZE too! I've been to more MAZE concerts than anyone else! They are just AMAZING!
So blessed to have seen him perform this live about a decade ago, all the while the audience was electric sliding. Black excellence.
Their tribute to Marvin Gaye is amazing. It's called Silky Soul. A mashup of Maze and Marvin's signature sound. Pure ear candy....
Hey Satori. I am addicted to your videos. Brings back so many memories of growing up in the 70s, 80s, etc.
Glad my videos bring you good vibes and good energy
Me too, watch his videos everyday.
One of my favorite songs of their vast catalog of timeless music!❤❤🤍🤍 RIP Iconic Mr. Frankie Beverly!😇🙏🕊👑🎶🎤🎧💐
😢 🕊 🙏🏽
Ain't this nothing but the TRUTH! A musical journey! Maze, Maze, MAZE!
Frankie made you sit straight up our home town man here in Philly.
This is my FAVORITE song by Maze! It’s such a groove and has a beautiful message. Shout out to whoever requested it! So glad Satori liked it. We were going to have to pull his card if he didn’t 😂. Can’t understand how anyone could dislike this song though 🤷🏽♀️.
Check out “We Are One” by Maze next. I love that one too.
Thank you! 💗✌🏽
This is the best of Maze! Never get bored of listening too this! I bought this in commercial street in London in the early 80s city sounds, this is where we would get American import’s . Before the brits would get some amazing black soul junk funk coming through! The bloody BBC were are pain in the arse letting some of the black sounds coming into the U.K.! I would sneak out of bed as a very young girl, and watch soul train. This is where I learned to dance and listen to so much amazing sounds!
Back in the day we had the Budweiser super fest. Frankie Beverly and Maze Teena Marie and Lakeside all in 1 show!
I can take you further back..... The kool jazz festival✌😎✌

You just feel so good listening to them. Every generation vibes with Papa Frankie and Maze!
They are outstanding live.
Heard him sing this live with maze in 1982, sounded just like the recording .. amazing voice
This is right there with Roy Ayers "My Life in the Sunshine". Surprised to see you did some Roy Ayers but you didn't do this one? Another 10 out of 10....!!! FIRE...!!!
Nothing to say, get a drink, sit down and shut up, it's a whole VIBE! don't mess it up.
God I grew up listening to this and the memories it invokes, I can't even put it into words, just sublime!
I am 64 years old I came up on this music. Back in Chicago in those days we had house parties. I was usually the DJ. I played them all this one was always a favorite. Great choice 👌come on with it Son!
Back then songs were epic events where the music and musicians shined as much as the singer. And don't forget the lyrics.
I see you in the groove, Baby! DC LOVES THIS GROUP!! No function in the DMV is complete w/o Maze playing!
Maze is another thumping group and their music is so smooth and jazzy to listen to.
Tears watching you get this song. Warms my heart.
This is my jam
I saw a maze Frankie Beverly twice back in the day. I am so glad I got that opportunity. The concert was excellent and not one person left that was not enamored by Maze!!!
🙇♂️
The most underrated band ever... in my opinion..
You must hear them live, especially this song. I saw them live so many times over the years and was NEVER bored! We know why Marvin Gaye loved them, he got them out there. Shout out to Marvin RIP. Frankie's voice is special. But that intro! Hearing them do that live, so special. Stay on Maze you in for a nice ride.
One of my favorite songs ever. Just makes me think of my childhood.
Yesssuuuhhh !!!! The music industry's best kept secret for over 40 years. Get them their flowers young blood. Love it !!!!
You have not lived until you've seen Frankie and Maze live. One of the best concerts I've ever been too. Such great vibes.

When I played in an R& B Band years ago, we used to cover this song..... fun to play... great tune...
Nice reaction!
Some more good songs by Maze are: Before I Let Go, Happy Feelings, Southern Girl & The Morning After...
Love this song. Been uplifting me since the 80's.
Love some MAZE!! ❤️
Highway music.. love it😁😁fire...
MY HOMETOWN BAND! Used to go see them at the then named Robin Hood Dell, now the Mann Music Center, in Philly. They always dressed in all white. soon audiences began showing up in the same color. Boy, this took me back to being 17 again
Yessssss, I saw them in concert there about 3 years ago. They sound just as good in concert as their recordings.
215✌🏾
I've been kinda down and seen this . Made me feel a lot better. Wish you could see it live.
Good music is the only drug and mood maker you need to create the perfect vibe!
It's so clear your a smooth jazz lover😊 ❤️
Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock did a song where they use the hook from this track. It's pretty awesome too.
This and Look at California are my favorite songs by Maze. I luv all their music but Looking at California is something special and one of their earliest releases.
Your welcome and it was my pleasure putting you on! I knew you would dig this classic 🎶💕
One of the GREATEST GROUP TO ERVER DO IT. You have to see them live you life will FOREVER BE CHANGED. I have seen them in concert 7 or 8 time and each one was a whole new vibe❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've seen a lot of groups in concert, none were any more like their recordings than Maze! Frankie Beverly and his beautiful voice was on par with The Jackson's and EWF for concert vocals. You ,my friend are my favorite reactor. I appreciate your love for my favorite music from the 70s and 80s. Peace.
Yeeeesssss! Delve ALL the way down into the Maze collections. Frankie Beverly is a phenomenal singer! I'm so happy for you on this journey of discovery!
If you want some funky grooves you need to check out Roger Troutman. Or check out Mcfadden and Whitehead Ain't no stopping us now.
This was the family reunion barbecue record! 🖤❤️🖤👍🏾
I can still see my aunties forming a electric slide line.
Because you know we will do the electric slide to anything 😜🖤❤️🖤!
Satori, you did it again!!! You are definitely in a grove!! Nuff said!!
You’re vibing now!!!
I LOVE THE FUNK AND MAZE IS CALLED A FUNK BAND. THIS IS THE ONLY MAZE TRACK I LIKE.
Frankie is the smoothest, coolest old guy. Love this man!
When I would hear this blasting on a Saturday morning as I was waking up smelling pine sol I knew it was time to get up and clean.

Frankie Beverly & maze live in New Orleans the song YOU one of the most all time favorites ❤.
Silky Silky Soul Singer....That Frankie. Is🎶🎤❤🎶❤🎶
Cookout Time! 🎶🔥🍔🌭💃🏽🕺🏾
Nothing like this intro...it's genius!
I saw them one night in January 1995 at the Fox Theater in Detroit. Imagine this song comes one within the first few measures of the intro, the crowd jumps to their feet and didn't sit down for the rest of the concert. Some people got up and started steppin and ballroom dancing in the aisles. I saw them again that Summer at Chene Park and was hooked. They put on great shows. Every time they came to the Detroit area from 1995 to 2010, I was there and at each concert, the reaction of the crowd was the same. It was like going to the biggest family reunion. Everyone was chill and just vibing to all of their music. No fussing or fighting. Everyone just having a good time. Thanks for reacting to this song. It brings back many great memories. I hope you listen to their catalog. I think you'd enjoy it. Also when you get the chance, check out the live version of this song. You'll see what I mean about the crowd's love for them😁
Man..if only you could see them in concert.. it’s an experience you would never forget.
Maze gives a spiritual experience when you listen to them.
You would not find another one like him
Frankie Beverly and Maze ain't know joke. The legends in the African American neighborhoods. I've seen them 3 times in concert in the 80's and they turned it out. Talking about dancing in the isles.
I saw Frankie Beverly and Maze in concert in 1983 in Frankfurt, Germany!
Oh yes, love this!
