Hi, would like to know what is the size of your home gym there? how many ft by how many ft? it doesn't seem big but it really is so complete with all the essential equipments that one need. I am in the middle of building own home and planning to buy a proper home gym, hence would like to know the size of the home gym you have there :)
Me watching this entire video even tho I live in a one bedroom apartment & have $23 in my savings account 👀😂
Haha! The accessories video will be out on Thursday, def some things you can grab in that for $23 ;)
get a sling/trx/rings for that 23 and you have a huge amount of possibilities inside that one bedroom apartment 👍
I wish I had $23 😂
It took me 10 years before I could afford my true home gym and now I have Prime Fitness’ FT and Single stack, with 2 more pieces on the way. It takes time… yet it’s worth it.
Live in a complex with a gym. I just moved to one. unfortunately, this place's gym is kind of trash with outdated equipment.
Sweet gym!
Thank you so much!
I got the prodigy rack and it's phenomenal. That said it does annoy me they use A LOT of stickers on their equipment and not Lazer cut or etch their logo into the equipment AND.... the knobs on their equipment are... cheap. For being a PREMO product... at least price-wise, you'd think for what you pay your equipment wouldn't be covered in stickers and the knobs/pop pins would be something a bit more robust than.... cheap plastic. Other than those nit picks.... it's the best purchase I made to date (I to am about to go ape shit on buying machines). It's just... between the rack and all the attachments/upgrades I've done to the rack I've probably spent about.... gulp... $9,000 on my rack. So yeah... for that fucking price I want something more than fucking stickers and cheap ass plastic knobs and pop pins, haha.
As I mentioned... I too am about to go on a machine shopping spree. That said I'm not made of money like these guys and I'm looking more at Bolt Fitness Supply, Fettle Fitness, and Temple of Gainz products.... just figure I'd mention those brands if anyone actually reads this and they too want to build out their garage - there are "more affordable" brands out there. I mean I'm going to be spending about $10-15,000 on machines still with those brands on about 6-7 pieces. Again, for perspective... I've probably put close to $9000 towards my Prime rack alone which is including shipping costs. So to say prime is a tad expensive... it's an understatement, haha. That said - I don't regret it. Although it is annoying me that over the last year now..... EVERY manufacturer is coming out with functional trainers integrated into their racks. And... they might be a tad cheaper than the prime offering..... compared to the prime though - the prodigy rack IMO just does it better. In terms of just the layout/design of the machine compared to the Rogues and Rep Fitnesses of the world similar offerings. And honestly.... prime's rack isn't THAT much more expensive than Rep or Rogue's similar offerings. And even if it is cheaper.... Rep and Rogue (and others) don't come with dual 350 lb big boy stacks. That said. I do wish prime would've incorporated their voodoo black magic switchability from 2:1 to 4:1 weight ratio in their selectorized rack like they do on their plate loaded prodigy offering. I don't get why that function can't translate to the stack.... but then again I'm not even sure how the function even works. I also really wish there was some way to get the low row to be a 1:1 ratio. I mean it's off the adjustable pulley you do rows on.... so when I do rows I'm friggin rowing the whole stack at 350 lbs... but it only feels like 175 lbs with the 2:1 ratio on the adjustable cables. But... with combo machines you got to realize sacrifices will have to be made somewhere. I mean Rogue and Reps offerings of similar racks you have a 1:1 ratio on low row...... but you have to do them sitting on the ground. Not a big deal.... but fuck that, haha.
What a good lookin' couple with an even better home gym ;) If you guys have any questions, we'll be in the comments responding!
We agree ;)
Omg that Prodigy Rack is a game changer, literally the two pieces of equipment i have (rack & functional trainer) in 1 and such a space saver. A dumbbell rack is next on our shopping list!
The 4 Tier Legend rack is a great option! (Depending on how many DBs you have/need) Just depends on where you're putting it in the house/garage because it comes completely welded together.
Multiple companies make a hack squat/leg press combo. Why not go for that?
If I were to build a home gym, I'd get as many combination machines as I can.
Chest Fly/Rear Delt Fly combo, Hack Squat/Leg Press combo, Leg Curl/Leg Extension combo, Incline Chest Press/High Lat Pull combo, etc
Good question! We hadn't found a hack squat/leg press combo that we were thrilled with. If the Prime Leg Curl/Leg Ext was out when we were building out the gym, we would have gotten that. For the chest fly/rear delt fly we can all those movements with the cables as well!
What machine would you buy first after getting a Power Rack, functional trainer, and free weights?
Likely a combo piece of a leg extension & leg curl, then maybe a quality leg press or hack squat
The home gym of my dreams! Thank you so much for your time making this video, it helps so much. Is the size of the gym just a standard 2 car garage?
Ahh, thank YOU! We are so glad the video is helpful. What's the one piece from our gym that you're wanting the most? Yes, it is a standard 2 car garage. Good question!
FYI… CINEHOUSE stole and posted this video on their channel…
I didn't see it on their channel. Do you mind linking it below? Thank you!
@@PhysiqueDevelopment I don’t even see the channel anymore (was all caps). I reported when I saw it.
@@soulvids Thank you for your help!
I agree the leg press just takes up so much space! Nice garage gym. I like it.
Thank you so much!
Assuming your garage has the regulation slope of 1/8” or 1/4” per foot, have you guys noticed any potential stability issues with the heavier equipment like the functional trainer? Probably not an issue but with a thousand pounds and a half inch or one inch of slope over four feet, I was wondering if the fear of tipping over was something you considered.
You are correct, we have not had any issues. It was a concern when we were building it out, but we were assured from others who had built home gyms & manufactures of equipment that it would be a non-problem. In our previous home & this one, we've had a majority of the equipment coming up on 3 yrs & have had no issues. It is annoying to put the DBs down & they never stay still. Lol
Thank you so much for making this video! Alex is so passionate about the gym equipment it's awesome. I am curious to why the leg press was better than the hack squat for glute gains? Also would love a video on how to use the Prime trap bar for RDLs etc! Thank you!
We have a video for Trap Bar RDLs, here: ruclips.net/video/tpUKFfIFG24/видео.html :)
Thank you, Jacy! This is a super nit picky difference, but we also needed a piece that we were going to be able to train legs with little or no spinal loading. That said, the leg press was a better option in that realm. Then on the note of better for glutes, between those two pieces the leg press lets us prioritize hip flexion (biasing glutes) more than the hack squat.
You have a lot of pieces I would have went with if I didn’t have a basement gym. Amazing space!!
Thank you!
What is the area in m^2 of the gym? 🤔😁
I believe it is 44.87 m^2!
Mnmz a cybex hack squat 🤤🤤
I’m surprised Prime fitness cost just as much as regular machines. I thought they would be double the prime.
Yes, very fair pricing! They are truly the best! :)
Great gym guys bt please don’t take this harshly, id sell that hammer strength shoulder press. If u understand biomechanics ud understand how absolute garbage that machine is. Its movement pattern works out 0 muscles
Well, good news is that we don't own a hammer strength shoulder press. The hammer strength piece we do have is the horizontal row, if we want to argue 'perfect' biomechanics I agree there may be some better pieces. But, there is also a lvl of enjoyment that you should get out of the gym when you're training. It is a piece that I'm willing to sacrifice 'perfect biomechanics' & still get a great stimulus.
Nice home gym. Should have got the cybex hack squat instead of the functional trainer.
Would love to add the Cybex Hack squat in due time. We've gotten a lot of great use out the functional trainer, I'm glad we got it!
Gp is the old brand of American barbell who makes the best urethane DBs on the market. Umax founder used to work for American barbell and did a lot of interior copies of AB including the DBs
Can I ask, how many square feet is your home gym? btw, your gym looks awesome and the video quality is great as well!
Of course! It's just a little over 500 sq ft, not a ton of space but we make use of every bit of it!
Thanks, I was about to ask this very question, I love this gym since it has a lot of the components I want, only things missing IMO are a full squat rack, GHD, Reverse Hyper, Nordic bench, Kettlebells as well as equipment for MMA training and cardio work (Concept2 Rowerg and Skierg and some kind of bike).
I could probably save space by using Adjustable Dumbbells and Adjustable Kettlebells, and replace the Smith Machine with a Squat Rack, and incorporate the FT into the Squat rack, such as the Ares into the Rep PR-5000
I could probably make my dream Gym work with around 600 Sq feet
Look at the woman always trying to stick the bum to the side and lift one leg for the camera. The guy never has to even think about it, but woman will mainly think about how she look in the camera angle lol :D
I'm surprised and not surprised that you went with the Hammer Strength row instead of the Prime Plate Loaded Row.... thoughts between the two? I've used the Hammer strength (who hasn't) and LOVE it but its common now to have Kas and Eugene call it out for not having the best resistance profile... I haven't used the Prime but also hear it is amazing and I'm leaning towards it. Would appreciate any feedback
Hey Todd! There are things within this gym that are perfectly optimal & that is the reason for it & there are things in this gym that I just personally enjoy. Although the resistance profile may not be the best on the hammer strength, it's a movement that I look forward to performing & I enjoy the change of pace between cables & plate loaded machines as well.
Great gym.
Great arm development too. Lol #gunshow
Thanks for watching!
You mentioned in your comments that you would have bought the Prime Horizontal Row if you had the space - did you mean the Prime Seated Row or the Prime Extreme Row? I don't think Prime has a horizontal row.
Yes, I was referring to the Prime Fitness Plate Loaded Seated Row. Good question!
Sick gym guys! Curious why the hammer strength row over the prime seated row. I love the N1 variations on the hammer strength but i think the prime one you could obviously get lengthened lat overload as well as upper back/rear delt lengthened overload as well.
Interested to hear your “do over” thoughts. I’m in the process of prepping for my home gym 2.0 in a 15x20 ft space (moving from a 11’x11’ space). Curious as to how big your space is (obviously much bigger than mine will be).
Currently my new space will have prime combo leg ext/curl, prime seated row, prime lat pull 2.0 plate, a pendulum squat, Atlantis 40 degree leg press, life fitness hyperextension, cybex seated calf, and my freemotion dual axis cable cross that I’m bringing from my current space. Just bought an old school cybex lying leg press for cheap as well to place and plan on grabbing a seated leg curl. I’m into jamming my space as much as i can and I probably won’t bring my squat rack from my current gym.
Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!
Hey Joseph! The ONLY reason we didn't get the Prime horizontal row was space. The foot print was just a little to big for the space we have right now. If/when we progress to a bigger space, that is a piece we will certainly have.
I believe our space is 23x21 ft
& the pieces you've got sound INCREDIBLE. I think I'm going to nee to come over and get a session in at your place! lol
I would say you may be able to sell the cybex seated calf & use the prime leg curl as your seated calf w/ bumper plates if that meant you could bring in a more versatile piece. Even if it just gave you more free place to move benches, stand when doing exercises, etc.
Hammer is lower footprint and also you can train the shortened and lengthened positions by just stepping back I swear?
How many car garage is this
2 car garage!
how much did it cost for the entire setup.
In the ballpark of 75-100k is our estimate. Equipment & such being purchased over time.
Talk about an amazing home gym setup!
What made you choose the cybex squat press over the Prime Leverage press?
Also I'm shocked you chose the hammer strength row over the prime seated row!
Thank you so much! Reason for the squat press is the versatility to bias all muscle groups, with the leverage press you're limited to just glutes & adductors IMO. Then for the Prime seated row it was the size of the seated row that I couldn't make work. If I had unlimited space & got to pic between the two, I would pick the Prime Horizontal Row!
Did you ever look into the kabuki trap bar or the rogue multi grip bar? How about a safety bar for back squats?
Yes, we sure did. The thing that pushed the Prime Trap Bar ahead was the ability to move the handles as the Kabuki handles are fixed. & I believe, we looked at the rogue multi-grip bar & the handles were not slanted & were vertical, we wanted them slanted. For the safety squat bar, a little birdie has told me that Prime is working on a great one that we've been waiting on.
Looking forward to seeing your video telling what you would do if you started over!
Thanks for watching!
Hello from Ukraine! Cool Gym!
Hello from the US! Thank you so much!
Did you guys obtain a sponsorship for the gym equipment brand? Then did you make a sponsored video?? If so wow... i need in too 😂ive got a big grand garage ready for this
hahah we wish this was sponsored!! we purchased all the equipment - just a brand we love and stand behind!
I need a training session here!!
Next PD gathering, we'll make it happen! :)
building or buying
This is our current home gym, would love to build a bigger space with more equipment in the future!
I am considering building a home gym as well. Can anybody tell me if it would be better to do this or buy a machine like tytax? Space isn't really a factor.
If space isn't an issue, I would recommend the equipment you see in this video over the TyTax!
Alex Do you still recommend that Cybex squat press? Really interested in getting one
Hi there!! I am interested in this equipment! Can I ask what the square footage of your garage is??
it's a typical 2 car garage!
What are your thoughts of a ghd? Specifically for your needs
For us, not necessarily. There are certainly a handful of uses with the GHD, but none that I can't mimic with other exercises or pieces of equipment that are a priority to us.
That Prime fitness cable machine is arguably the best piece of home gym equipment you can get, other than of course your free weights. It's commercial gym quality too, unlike most racks with a pulley system
I couldn't agree more, the function trainer & the prodigy rack are incredible. We are huge fans of Prime as you can see! Lol
Is there a particular reason you chose the Cybex squat press over the Prime version?
The Prime is a bigger footprint, so space wasn’t a good fit. & it’s very hip dominant with how the seat & foot plate are set-up. So, the cybex being smaller & more versatile with how we could use it.
@@AlexBush_Shorts thanks for the detailed answer, I didn’t realize it was that big.
I didn't know Shakira had a garage gym.
Right?! Who would have thought!
Hey do you guys have a brand for the dehumidifier? Do you like the one you have? Great video! Love my prime stuff in the garage.
Hey guys! What’s the square footage of your Home Gym? Looks great!
Hey Cameron, thank you! A little over 500 sq ft is the total space!
What size is your space
A normal 2-car garage!
I need to get me a pair of those rotating pull up handles. Great gym you guys got there!
They help tremendously, & the ability to move them wider/more narrow is helpful as well! Thank you!
Like the dumbbell rack...looks like heavier weights than either of you need... Though I can lift those, I don't think I would spend that much on them. Smith machine is a winner. I have thought about getting the HS for my premium basement gym...but the reality is between using heavy single arm dumbbell rows and/or seal or bent over rows, I just don't see the value in it. Maybe one day. I would have rather have grabbed the HS lat pulldown. Cable corner unit is a winner. I give this give 8.5 of 10. Its one of the better ones...be better if you had more space, like a 3 car garage. For all you have, it doesn't look too congested. I would need more Olympic plates. Don't know if I saw a decline bench in there, can't forget to hit those lower pecs.
Coming in hot with the insult of strength - Check out some of the training videos, certainly use the dumbbells that have been purchased. They are very expensive, I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't need them. The lat pulldown is covered by the Prime Prodigy rack. Certainly if we had more space, I would be able to add more pieces. We have over 300 lbs of olympic bumper plates. The Prime Bench can be adjusted to a decline.
Is that a 3 car garage? What is the square footage? Love the gym
Thank you T'jon! It is a 2 car garage, A little over 500 sq ft.
Hi guys, just watched your video on your home gym. Excellent set up. I guess my question is, no cardio stuff equipment? Also a huge space saver is power block dumbbells!
Hey Matt, great question! We have a stationary bike & treadmill in the basement!
Hey guys, I just got the super squat bar, amazing no doubt.
I was just wondering where you guys store this? It’s so big and so unweildly that I really hope that I can find a good way to store it so that I will continue to want to use it.
Hey Braynz! So glad that you were able to grab the super squat bar. I store it standing in a bar stand from EliteFTS. It is definitely a bear to get in. But, it is stable once you get it in!
@@AlexBush_Shorts awesome. Thanks for the reply! I got my bar before this comment and I had already ordered a Barbell Anchor from Darko, but unfortunately it was too high since my rogue monster rack is 100 inches tall. So I just put some jcups as high as they go and now can store the bar inside of the rack and it’s up and out of the way. If you have a tall rack like that, this is for sure the way to go. Have a great day!
Hi guys, would also like to know to know the size of the space please? Looking to replicate this in my home gym, will use your affiliate links if you tell me ;)
Hey! If you email me Alex@Physiquedevelopment.com I can help you more with this! It is a standard 2 car garage.
This gym got the Jurassic Park treatment: "Spared no expense!".
hahaha, indeed! Alex absolutely loves gym equipment and if we use girl math... it's basically free lol
Damn nice garage space! Your boy has definitely gone bonkers at the end, please don't forget to feed him his meds lol
Hahah, I honestly forgot that was the ending! I've calmed down tho, promise!
how big is this space?
A little over 500 sq ft, a standard 2 car garage!
awesome video , which would yall recommend more the hammer strength row shown here or the prime plate loaded row?
Man, it's a hard question to answer! Love both for different reasons!
You guys NEED the the prime fitness back row. UNDEFEATED 💯
ah we want it so bad! need more space..
Hey mate if you tell the total amount, would appreciate it. This looks amazing tho.
the total amount of the size of the gym?
Que marca es el banco
Beautiful space y’all!
Thank you so much, really glad we built it out! :)
Completely out of touch and not possible for 99.999%.
If you think that way, you're correct it won't be possible. We worked very hard to make this possible for ourselves & you can to. We aren't special, this is year 10 of building something we are passionate about & believe in. That's what this possible. Do you think that if you committed 10 years to something, that it would be more possible than it is right now?
nice video, thank youuuu!
Thanks, Btechz! We really love this gym :)
You guys are rich. I bought all my equipments used.
we wanted a certain quality of equipment and saved up to purchase this, proud of how hard to worked to accomplish this!
Solid Space! 💪🏼
Thanks!
This is awesome! Great home gym!
Thank you so much, Malik!
Amazing gym!
Thank you, Becky!!
3 grand for a plate loaded leg extension LOL wtf
Like all things in life, quality comes at a price!
Have you ever considered or looked for Technogym brand?
Yes, it is not a brand that has much equipment that I prefer!
Wow that is awesome !
Thank you Brian!
Watson makes extremely thin Olympic plates
& they come at a pretty penny!
Great gym, not affordable for most to do, but must be nice to have!

Very good gym. How many square meters?
Not 100% sure, it is a normal 2-Car Garage.
Hell of a gym !
Thank you, Wetty! We absolutely love it :)
@@PhysiqueDevelopment these videos are helpful as building the garage gym is a never ending project. Looking into a cambered bar next for myself. I want those range of motion options and that big stretch.
100%! It's never ending & you're always trying to move things around to see what can/can't fit. Depending on what kind you're looking for on the cambered, you've got a lot options. Rogue, Texas Power Bars, EliteFTS, Kabuki, Titan, etc. I'm sure I'm leaving some out.
What ratio did you choose for your Prodigy Rack and why? :)
Did you look at the freemotion functional trainer at all? I know you guys like prime, which makes great equipment.
We did! Also a fantastic option, I don't think you can go wrong with that one or the prime one!
What a beautiful gym. Thanks for the great tour. Surprised that y’all didn’t do any mats on the floor?
thank you! appreciate that! And the floor is a mat all together - we got it cut to fit -- we do wish it was thicker but definitely not on just the garage floor!
Outstanding gym review! I watched over 50 home gym videos with well known Gym RUclipsrs and you guys by far did the best in explaining, why you purchase the gym equipment and the price.
Music to our ears, thank you George! What other home-gym videos have you enjoyed?
Great space! What flooring did you use? What do you want to replace it with? I have stall mats but would prefer to replace them with something that doesn’t smell.
Thank you Jennifer! We have a thinner version of what I'll link below. What I'm linking below is what we would replace ours with, if we ever want to pull all the equipment out & re-do it. Lol www.roguefitness.com/plae-achieve-13mm
Awesome 🤩.

In your opinion: full set dumbbell or power rack?
-
If you have a set of dumbbells and hack squat in your home gym, will you add a power rack or another machine?
--
If you have the space, go for the full set of DBs! Gives you more capabilities for supersets & such IMO.
lol was looking out for how you were going to correct "hack squat", very smooth.
Hahah, I appreciate you catching that!
The Gym looks great; what is the square footage of your Gym?
around 500 sq ft!

Mnmz a cybex hack squat
Haha, I tried to correct it!

@@PhysiqueDevelopment No, but I aim to in the future.
Great video! Subscribed
Thanks for the sub! Appreciate it!
Nice gym space
Thank you! Dream come true to have the space.
Love that trap bar,
It's excellent, couldn't recommend more!
This is what I'm talking about! I'm tired of watching these 10k+ gym with a bunch of Rogue or REP cages and Swiss Army knife gyms where you have to assemble some attachment to work out. I do work out with free weights but for me there's nothing like just jumping on a machine doing some sets, jumping off and jumping on the next machine.
100%! We agree, we love every piece that we got in our space currently! Thanks for the love
Starting a home gym with such expensive gym equipment is not for your average gym goer since 99% people watching this video will never be able to afford equipment like this. This video is basically useless for most people. Secondly, It is my opinion that this equipment is leased or bought via some financing methods, and that is the worst way to buy. I worked for a leasing company and many times we had to repo gym and other equipment from physical therapists and other "medical services providers" who couldn't make payments.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, now I have the opportunity to share with you factual information. At no point in the video did we say everyone should be able to purchase the equipment that we did. We are sharing what we thought was best for our home gym, if you get some ideas for your own, great! If it inspires you to save up to build your home gym, even better. Your assumption that the equipment is leased is incorrect. We paid full-price for all the equipment in cash.
She doesn’t have very well developed glutes, perhaps that’s something she can work on
You're trippin. Check this out instagram.com/reel/C5iut4YLt9R/
@@PhysiqueDevelopment I guess in that perfect picture with the right lighting and a pump but in this video her just walking around I’m just saying that much equipment and the glute development should be much higher perhaps there is something off with the training.
Hour long commercial. Sad.
An hour is 60 minutes in length... This is a 24 min video with two people who paid full-price to multiple different companies to build out a home gym... Where is the commercial?
Crazy to me how people spend this kind of money when not necessary. Hey to each his own I guess.
Who are you to say that it isn't necessary? It may not be necessary in your life, that's fine. But, as stated in the video it's always been a dream of Alex's to have the home gym & it is tremendously important to our business & helping people all over the world exercise better. To me, for those few reasons alone it is more than necessary.
@@PhysiqueDevelopmentmy point is you don't have to spend so much to get good equipment. Duh. Tell Daddy to hit legs for once😉😘
